"Art Breaker" is the third segment of the 2nd episode of the fifth season of Trolls: TrollsTopia, and the 67th overall episode in the series. It premiered in December 9, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Poppy recreates one of Synth's paintings after destroying the original by accident. She soon discovers that her own versions of Synth's art resonate more than Synth's originals, and feels the need to re-paint all of Synth's paintings in secret.
Plot[]
Poppy is at the Harmonious Hall at Classical Crest with Rhythm & Blues admiring works of Troll art by Trolls such as Holly Darlin' and Guy Diamond who is his own work of art. Suddenly, they find one that baffles them: Synth's. While trying to look at it from a different perspective, Poppy accidentally breaks it. In a panic, she redraws it. When R&B see it, they note something is different about it and it sings to them, which makes Poppy worry he will notice it is not his original work. When Synth sees his artwork, he is lost for words; something is different about it and he can't explain it as he just made it without much thought. The work gains admiration from other Trolls, and Sky Toronto asks for another piece made for his office. He takes Guy in addition.
The next day, Synth presents his piece, but it doesn't "sing" like his previous work. Sky walks away from it in disappointment and Synth is also not happy. Poppy nips in and quickly re-paints it identically to the original. By the time Sky returns, Poppy has replaced the painting with an identical one, and Sky is taken back by the piece and he proclaims when word gets out, everyone will want a Synth on their wall.
Synth is with Laguna, and they are approached by a crowd. Synth is being asked to do a lot of painting, which means Poppy has a lot of repainting to do. A montage of Synth painting and Poppy repainting pieces begins.
At the gallery, Dante is complimenting Synth's work. Poppy thinks it is over, as every Troll has a Synth on their wall. However, Dante commissions Synth to paint the ceiling of Harmonious Hall. While Synth is happy, Poppy is horrified.
Synth is shown painting, but Dante and the other Trolls notice none of the works are "singing" to them yet. Rhythm suggests they use brain zapping memory erasers that can zap away memories, but Poppy is not keen on the idea. She needs a diversion, and then asks Dante to perform for the Trolls as entertainment. Dante begins to instruct his Classical Trolls to play music, giving Poppy a chance to begin repainting. At first, the pieces don't "sing" until she signs them with Synth's name. When the crowd turns around, Synth's work, and in turn Poppy's, is completed.
Sky wants to climb up and get a closer look at the artwork, but Dante advises him that the platform is old a rickety, and will collapse if too much weight is on it. Poppy, however, is currently on it with Synth, and on cue it collapses, revealing her.
Poppy and Synth talk, and Poppy explains that she has been repainting his work. She explains that she couldn't find a way to tell him so she kept doing it. Synth is very, very relieved, and tells that the stress over the workload was making him worried about doing it alone, but it turned out he was part of a team all along. The duo are prepared for more art, but attention turns to another piece: Guy Diamond.

Trivia[]
- The title is a play on the term "heart breaker", which refers to someone who's the ideal lover and usually has everything related to that, including good look, financial support, etc.
- "Troll with a Pearl Earring - who also has really big hair" is a reference to Girl with a Pearl Earring.
- "Venus de Guylo" is a reference to Venus de Milo.
- Synth's art is a reference to Wassily Kandinsky's artwork style from 1914 to the 1930s.
- From how the piece is shown, it looks like a canvas on a wooden frame. If this is the case, then it wouldn't be easy to break, as it would have been ripped rather than broken in half. And even if it's not, art can be completely restored by a restorer if all pieces of it are present.
- How Poppy paints with her hair is actually the method Harper in official bios was said to paint. For unknown reasons, both Trolls: The Beat Goes On! and Trolls: TrollsTopia showed Harper painting with a paintbrush.
