~ Fiona to Shrek before they revert back to their normal, ogre selves |
Princess Fiona is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Donkey) of DreamWorks Animation's Shrek franchise.
She is a princess that, since youth, was cursed with having to become an ogre every night, while retaining her human form by the day, because of unknown circumstances, she was imprisoned in a tower guarded by a dragon for many years, until an ogre named Shrek, who really wasn't interested in her and only took a part of this mission for his own motives, along with a talking donkey accompanying him, rescued her. Over time, they fall in love, and learn to overcome their obstacles, be they enemies they must face, or the fear Fiona has of her own ogre form.
She was voiced by Cameron Diaz.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- While initially not happy that Shrek was her rescuer, she eventually gets to feel remorse for how she treated and judged him (especially considering she is an ogre herself).
- She protected and saved Shrek and Donkey from the Merry Men.
- She eventually lost her shame of her ogre form and opened herself up to Shrek.
- She repeatedly tried to get Shrek and her parents to get along.
- She rightfully declined Fairy Godmother's offerings to her, as all she wanted was just Shrek, unaware of her true plans.
- It is completely understandable when she headbutted Сharming considering he forcibly kissed her.
- She preferred to stay in her ogre form and convinced Shrek he didn't have to change either, solving one of his main fatal flaws from the second movie.
- Once Charming orchestrates a hostile takeover in Far Far Away, she makes a revolution along with other princesses and her mother to take the kingdom back and defeat Charming and his villains.
- She is disgusted by Rapunzel's betrayal of her and her friends.
- She rallied the princesses to fend off Charming's troops and save Shrek.
- She was dead worried when Shrek was thought to be stabbed by Charming.
- In Rumpelstiltskin's alternate timeline, she made an Ogre revolution to stop Rumpel's dystopian rule.
- She cares a lot for her Ogre comrades despite being harsh to them on occasion.
- She takes care of Fat Puss in Boots with a lot of love, despite mostly not contributing at all in the revolution.
- After her comrades are taken to Rumpel's castle by Pied Piper, she goes by herself to try and rescue them.
- She thanked Shrek for turning himself in to free all the ogres.
- With Shrek, they both chain Dragon and prevent her from attacking the rest of the ogres.
- In the end, with her true love's kiss, she and Shrek defeated Rumpelstiltskin and dismantled his dystopian reality forever.
- While she may have done less than Puss in Boots or Shrek, for the former being a stupidly powerful swordfighter, and the latter having more physical power than her, despite both being ogres, she doesn't fail the standards to them.
- She goes beyond standard heroism multiple times, making a rebellion to fend off Charming's dictatorial rule in Far Far Away, as well as helping defeat Rumple and end his terrible timeline.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- She has some jerk moments, such as not caring when she accidentally exploded a bird in the first film, throwing a mermaid far into the ocean for mistakenly (in Shrek's part, not the mermaid's) having kissed Shrek in the first sequel, and in Scared Shrekless, when she, along with Shrek, steal candy from trick-or-treaters and throw eggs at the Seven Dwarfs. However, these aren’t frequent or meant to be taken seriously, so this is a minor prevention.
- She still fails the franchise's admirable standards to Donkey and Perrito, who both are near resourceless talking animals who contributed to defeating many dangerous villains and (in Perrito's case) saving the world.
