“ | A wolf and a fox are not so different. Maybe they will believe you maybe they won't but it doesn't matter don't do it for them do it for you. This is a chance to write your own story for you and your friends. Come on what do you got to lose? | „ |
~ Diane advising Wolf to redeem himself and his friends for the better. |
Diane Foxington is one of the two deuteragonists (along with Mr. Snake) in the animated feature film The Bad Guys. She used to be the one of the best thieves in the world, but gave up her criminal life and started to help others and eventually become governor.
She is voiced by Zaize Beetz.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- She is reluctant at first to Marmalade's good training but eventually allows it (even though she didn't know it was a trap at the time).
- She talks to Wolf on her way out to the car about becoming good for him and his friends.
- She doesn't call the chief after a misunderstanding on the news (though she was upset).
- She brings back all the stolen loot to their rightful owners the bad guys stole.
- She shows empathy towards Wolf after losing his friends.
- She tries to stop Wolf from a trap, even if they both get electrocuted.
- She goes with Webs to hack the trucks so they can bring the stolen money from Marmalade back to charity.
- She stands up to the bad guys in order to reduce their chance to get arrested by trying to say her true identity (but Wolf stops her by saying The Crimson Paw so she didn't have to go to jail).
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- Even though she rescued the bad guys from jail, taking out dozens of more guards wasn't really self-defense, in short, she had some mischievous tendencies on the guards, to the point the guards got more than what they deserved.
- She also isn't fully redeemed from her past thievery which is proven by these points:
- She stole a getaway boat from the prison in the film, as well as Wolf's car (but Wolf's car could be minor because she did so just to bring it back).
- She also kept the Zumpango Diamond she stole years back because she was sentimental.
Trivia[]
- She is one of the three redeemed villains of DreamWorks to be NPG (The other two being Mr. Wolf and Megamind).
- Although she is based on Ellen from the books they share many differences, including the fact that Ellen was never a thief, and works with International League of Heroes, rather than being a politician alone.
- She was originally approved as Pure Good, but was rejected as it was proven that she didn't subvert all of her villainous qualities and was scaled as Near Pure Good instead.
- Though she is currently Near Pure Good, this could change with the upcoming The Bad Guys 2
