Roberto is a major character in Rio 2.

He is a blue macaw living in the Amazon Forest in Brazil. He was Jewel's best friend during their childhood, until Jewel got lost during an illegal fire in the forest and somehow ended up in Rio de Janeiro. Later, they'd meet again when Jewel went, along with her mate and children, to the Amazon to find out if there were still Blue Macaws there, and eventually had to stop an illegal attempt to bring down the forest.

He is voiced by musician: Bruno Mars.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • As he makes multiple patrols, he is shown to have a level of responsibility over the safety of the village.
  • He protected the Blue Macaw's feeding territory based on Eduardo's rules, from the Red Macaws.
  • He welcomed Jewel warmly along with the whole village, celebrating her return with songs and parties.
  • He was very friendly to Jewel's family (even if Blu was jealous at him, it wasn't anything intentional) and had them stay at his home during their stay in the Amazon.
  • When Blue accidentally provoked the Red Macaws into war, Eduardo led the Blue Macaws in their soccer game to protect their feeding territory.
  • While he is shown to hate all humans, like Eduardo, this is understandable due to his traumas with them, and he is shown to be over this when he acknowledges Blu is trying to help, even if he is siding with Linda and Tulio.
  • After Blu knocked him out of his hysteria, he went call the Blue Macaw village to help stop the loggers who were destroying the Amazon Forest, as only Blu and Linda and Tulio were there at the moment, and when Eduardo got the wrong idea, Roberto made him see he was only trying to help.
  • He helped the forest animals warn off the loggers, fighting them viciously.

What Prevents Him From Being From Pure Good?[]

  • He is shown to have some level of arrogance, based mainly on his heated rivalry with Felipe for no other reason than being from different tribes (though they did team up to fight a bigger threat, that being the loggers) and how he seems to sometimes needlessly brag about things, such as how he built his home on his own, with his own strength. However, he is mostly a friendly individual, so it isn't a severe prevention.

Trivia[]

  • He, Jewel, Rafael, and Nico are the only characters in the Rio franchise to be Near Pure Good.
