- "I care. I know I turn everything into a joke, but I... I care, and I want to use that feeling for something important. I wanna matter."
- âWade Wilson to Happy Hogan[src]
Wade Winston Wilson is a mutant with a powerful healing factor and incredible combat prowess, which led him to work as a notorious mercenary, vigilante, and ally of the X-Men under the name Deadpool. He eventually left behind his vigilante lifestyle to find a stable and fulfilling job as a civilian after his attempts to join the Avengers proved fruitless, until he was taken from his native reality and offered a place in the Sacred Timeline by Mr. Paradox, a rogue Time Variance Authority agent. However, after learning that Paradox plotted to annihilate his home timeline, Deadpool was sent to the Void alongside a Variant of his Wolverine, with whom he formed a very uneasy alliance to escape. The two new friends were able to thwart Paradox's plans and kill Cassandra Nova before she could erase all timelines, and thus, Wilson invited Logan into his world and continued working for the TVA.
Later on, Deadpool found himself on Svartalfheim with Thor, where he was injured and his suit was damaged, leaving Thor crying over Deadpool's damaged body.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Becoming Deadpool[]
Wade Winston Wilson was born in Canada and served in the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, but eventually used his superior skills for killing to become a mercenary. Wilson then met Vanessa Carlysle, and the two engaged in intense sexual activity and begun a relationship. Both deeply in love with each other, Wilson proposed to Carlysle, telling her that her crazy matched his crazy.
But, shorty after, Wilson was diagnosed with an extreme form of cancer throughout his body. Despite having the support of Carlysle, Wilson chose to abandoned her to seek experimental treatment from Ajax. Wilson was put through excruciating torture that caused his mutation to manifest, granting him a regenerative healing factor but disfiguring his entire body in the process. Wilson managed to break out of his captivity, burned down the facility, and fought Ajax, but lost.
Too ashamed to return to Carlysle, Wilson met and moved in with Blind Al, as well as befriending a cab driver named Dopinder. Carlysle was kidnapped by Ajax, so Wilson, who now donned a black and red suit and went by the superhero name "Deadpool" to rescue Carlysle. Wilson was aided by X-Men members Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and was reunited with Carlysle, and the two rekindled their romantic relationship.[1]
Life as Deadpool[]
- "I was... mainly I was team leader... founder, really, of X-Force."
- âWade Wilson to Happy Hogan[src]
Eventually, Vanessa Carlysle was killed sometime later during an attack on Wilson by Sergei Valishnikov. In an attempt to move on, Wilson joined the X-Men as a trainee, but it did not work out.
Instead, Wilson decided to form the X-Force, which included Shatterstar and Peter Wisdom. However, on their first mission, in which they dealt with Cable, almost all the members of the X-Force were killed when parachuting. Wilson ended up allying with Cable and was able to acquire his time travel device. Wilson used the device to go back in time and save Carlysle from dying.
Immediately after, Wilson decided to fix some other things, so he used the Time-Travel Device again to save Wisdom and Shatterstar. In addition to this, Wilson also killed a different version of him that was about to face off with Wolverine. Wilson then made another stop to a different universe and killed Ryan Reynolds as he read the script to Green Lantern before returning to his original universe.[1]
Applying to the Avengers[]
- "I need to be an Avenger. Sir, my girl's kinda had it with my shtick, and if I don't, you know, turn things around and do something with my gifts I don't think it's gonna really work out for me, and I wouldn't blame her."
- âWade Wilson to Happy Hogan[src]
On March 14, 2018, Wilson used Cable's Time-Travel Device again and traveled to Earth-616 in hopes of becoming an Avenger. He met with Happy Hogan, who he opened up to about his desire to matter, which he wanted to prove to Vanessa Carlysle. However, Wilson stopped, wondering whether Tony Stark would be appearing, but Hogan explained that he no longer did meetings, although Wilson initially thought he meant cameos.
Hogan continued with the interview, and Wilson revealed his time with X-Force, but it only made things worse. Sensing this, Wilson desperately told Hogan that he wanted to be an Avenger because he needed it. Hogan explained to Wilson the importance of being an Avenger, which he included himself a part of, making Wilson question it, asking if his superpower was parallel parking. Hogan told Wilson that the Avengers don't need it, others needed them. Wilson was left disappointed when the interview ended, but listened to Hogan as he advised him to find the place he fits with. Wilson then left the Sacred Timeline and returned to his universe dejected and depressed.[1]
Retired Mercenary[]
- "I'm done. And I'm fine with being done."
- âWade Wilson to Peter Wisdom[src]
Wilson destroyed Cable's Time-Travel Device shortly after returning to his timeline, where his depression over being denied into the Avengers grew over time.
This took a further strain on Wilson's relationship with Vanessa Carlysle, who told him that he needed to show her that he cared about something bigger than himself. Carlysle tried to support Wilson by asking him to let her in, but he instead pushed her away, demanding that she say that she did not want to be with him anymore. The two broke up, and Wilson moved back in with Blind Al, in addition to retiring from his mercenary life. Instead, Wilson got a job at Drive Max, working alongside his best friend and former X-Force teammate, Peter Wisdom.
In 2024, Wilson tried to sell a Kia Carnival to the Chipman family, but because of his constant vulgarity, he failed. At the end of their shift, Wisdom tried to comfort Wilson, telling him that he could always return to being a superhero, revealing that he kept his suit in his locker. Wilson stated that he was done with that life, although he was not fond over his new one. As they headed home, Wisdom further suggested Wilson go back to doing missions, although Wilson was distracted by construction workers taking photos of him.[1]
Celebrating His Birthday[]
- "I'm happy. You know, that's because of each and every one of you. I guess what I'm trying to say is how proud I am, how grateful I am, to be standing in a room with every single person I love... I'm the luckiest man alive."
- âWade Wilson[src]
Wilson entered his apartment, where he was surprised by all of his friends waiting for him inside to celebrate his birthday. After a group picture was taken with all of Wilson's friends, the party got started and Wilson mingled with the guests.
Wilson caught up with Dopinder and Shatterstar, and spoke to Blind Al about being able to pay the rent, which he was unable to do. Blind Al asked if Wilson wanted to do cocaine, but he told her that it was the one thing Kevin Feige prohibited them from doing within the movie. He moved on to Colossus, who revealed he had been watching The Great British Bake Off, which Wilson claimed prevented him from suicide.
Wilson then gave his opinions on various controversial topics to Buck, but as soon as he went to respond, Wilson stopped Buck, informing him he had no speaking lines. Negasonic Teenage Warhead commented on Wilson's toupée, but he tried to convince her it was a hair system from the French, which Yukio complimented. Lastly, Wilson spoke with Vanessa Carlysle, who revealed that she was dating someone, joking that he had not got her shot yet. The two of them laughed, although Wilson was saddened by Carlysle moving on.
Everybody then sang "Happy Birthday" to Wilson as they brought out the cake. Wilson gave a speech, reflecting on the difficulty of the past few years and how things had changed for him, but he claimed that he was happy. Wilson credited his happiness to each of his friends, seeing them as the only people that he loved. Wilson finished his speech, stating that he was the luckiest man alive before blowing out the candles.[1]
Saving His World[]
An Offer[]
- "The Sacred Timeline... I assume I am going to... Marvel at how... cinematic it feels? Gratuitous cameos... Indiscriminate use of Variants, the whole package?"
- âWade Wilson to Mr. Paradox[src]
Answering a knock at the door, Wilson discovered a squad of TVA Minutemen that he assumed were dancers ordered by Dopinder. As Wilson rattled off several sexual requests to them, a Timedoor opened behind him and Wilson was forcefully dragged through. Wilson found himself in the TVA Office sitting before Mr. Paradox, who explained the organization to him, which Wilson felt was a lot of exposition for a threequel. Wilson asked if his abduction was due to him using Cable's Time-Travel Device, but Paradox claimed it was not.
Paradox asked Wilson to follow him, explaining that he had been chosen for a higher purpose that would prevent a terrible future for the Sacred Timeline, alluding to a potential collaboration with the Avengers. Wilson caught on to what Paradox was referring to, and subtly responded about the prospect of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Paradox confirmed Wilson's suspicion by showing him footage of Captain America and telling him he could also matter. Wilson also spotted a monitor that showed him in Thor's arms, making him curious. Wilson excitedly dubbed himself "Marvel Jesus" before insulting 20th Century Fox and agreed to Paradox's offer.
Wilson requested a new suit be made for him, so he met with the TVA's tailor, who adorned Wilson with an improved costume, repeatedly groping him in the process. Wilson was also provided with new weapons, including adamantium katanas. Deadpool returned to Paradox, expressing his satisfaction with the upgrade, and remarking on Ralph being attracted to him. Deadpool asked about bringing his friends over to the Sacred Timeline, but Paradox revealed that he could not returned to his universe. Paradox explained that his timeline was decaying due to the Anchor Being dying, which Deadpool assumed it was meaning himself, but Paradox laughed at the idea.
Paradox informed Deadpool that Wolverine was the Anchor Being and that his death was the cause of the timeline decaying. Deadpool asked how long his timeline had left, which Paradox responded that it would take a couple thousand years, but he intended to accelerate the process with the Time Ripper. Deadpool was conflicted upon hearing this, so Paradox gave him the ultimatum once more, only for Deadpool to break Paradox's nose and steal his TemPad so he could find Wolverine. Deadpool opened a Time Door and escaped.[1]
Battle at Logan's Grave[]
- "To be clear, I'm not proud of any of this. The wanton violence, the whiff of necrophilia. It isn't who I am. It isn't who I wanna be."
- âDeadpool[src]
Deadpool returned to his universe in the 2030s, where he approached Wolverine's grave and begun digging it up. In his narration, Deadpool noted that he was not worried about ruining the legacy of Logan, believing that Wolverine was not actually dead due to his regenerative healing factor. However, Deadpool discovered that Wolverine was truly dead, which enraged him.
Deadpool removed the skeleton from the grave, sat next to it and began talking to it. Deadpool confessed that he had always wanted to team up with Wolverine, thinking it would be a lot of fun but also make them a lot of money. The Minutemen found Deadpool and told him to surrender. Deadpool hid with the skeleton and told the Minutemen that he would not surrender, but he did promise not to use any of his weapons, telling the audience that the Human body had two-hundred six bones.
Holding Wolverine's skeleton, Deadpool stood before the Minutemen and used the bones to violently kill them. In between the fight, Deadpool would break the fourth wall and dance to "Bye Bye Bye" by *NSYNC. After using all of Wolverine's bones, Deadpool attached his retractable bone claws to his suit. Deadpool had some difficulty using the claws, including stabbing his own arm, as well as getting the claws stuck in two Minutemen. Once only the leader was left, Deadpool bounced his katana into his face after he insulted Canada. Deadpool then used the TemPad to leave and find another Wolverine.[1]
Finding a Wolverine[]
- "Why would I go with you?"
"Because, unfortunately, I need you. And even more unfortunately, my entire world needs you." - âWolverine and Deadpool[src]
Deadpool commenced his search across the Multiverse, where he first found a Wolverine whose height was comic-accurate in his universe. Deadpool found his height adorable and left through a Timedoor. The next universe Deadpool arrived in was more apocalyptic, and he came across Weapon X, who immediately started beating him up, so he left.
The following Variant Deadpool encountered was Patch, who also responded with aggression by stabbing him in the head. Other Variants Deadpool encountered included an older version of Logan who shot him, a Wolverine that had been crucified on top of a sea of skulls, and a Wolverine donning the classic John Byrne brown-and-tan suit, but was attacked by an alternate Hulk. Deadpool was excited when meeting the next Wolverine, played by Henry Cavill, thus dubbed the "Cavillrine," who also attacked Deadpool, despite saying they would treat him better than DC did.
Falling through the Timedoor into a bar, Deadpool spotted another Wolverine and approached him. Deadpool told Wolverine to come with him to help save his world, only to be met with refusal. Running out of time and not being immediately attacked, Deadpool decided to drag Wolverine from his stool. Wolverine resisted being taken, so Deadpool pulled his gun on him, only for Wolverine to finish off an entire bottle, causing him to pass out. Being short on other options, Deadpool decided to take this Wolverine back with him. But before picking him up, Deadpool noticed that Wolverine was wearing his iconic suit underneath his clothes.
Deadpool returned to the Time Variance Authority Office with the drunk Wolverine in his suit, telling Mr. Paradox that he had found a replacement Anchor Being. However, Paradox informed Deadpool that it did not work that way, but also that he had found the worst Wolverine in the Multiverse. Desperate, Deadpool asked what could be done, but Paradox stated that he already gave Deadpool the chance to join the Sacred Timeline, and nothing else could be done to save his world. When Wolverine got up, Deadpool welcomed him into the MCU, saying it was currently at a low point. Deadpool then realized that Paradox was working rogue of the TVA, so Paradox pruned him before he could expose their actions.[1]
Sent to the Void[]
Deadpool was sent to the Void, where he was attacked by Wolverine who asked where they both were, but Deadpool did not know, claiming it looked similar to the Mad Max franchise, though it would be IP infringement if that were the case.
Deadpool urged that they needed to get back to Mr. Paradox before his world was destroyed but Wolverine did not care. Deadpool brought up Wolverine letting down his own world, causing Wolverine to once again attack Deadpool by stabbing him in the back. Deadpool maneuvered himself and slammed Wolverine to the ground, allowing him to unload his clips into Wolverine's sides. Deadpool asked if Wolverine was going to be calm, but Wolverine answered by throwing Deadpool into the 20th Century Fox logo.
The two stood at opposite ends of each other about to fight, but Deadpool claimed he did not want to, although Wolverine did not care. Knowing that it was what the audience wanted to see, Deadpool prepared to face off with Wolverine, despite knowing how much it would hurt. Swiftly reloading his guns, Deadpool fired upon a fast approaching Wolverine, until they were sliced by his claws. Deadpool equipped his katanas and the two stabbed each other repeatedly, with Deadpool leaving his katanas in Wolverine's body.
Deadpool stopped the fight by promising Wolverine that the TVA could change whatever went wrong in his world. Wolverine yielded and they overheard a voice call out to them saying that they should not fight each other. Deadpool was in awe, believing that he was seeing Captain America, who pointed out enemies approaching. As the three were surrounded, Deadpool expected to hear the iconic "Avengers Assemble" battle cry, only to be confused when the person turned out to be Human Torch, who was quickly defeated by Pyro.
They then spotted Sabretooth, who challenged Wolverine to fight, so Deadpool took a timeout to pull his katanas out of Wolverine while giving him advice to defeating his brother. However, Wolverine told Deadpool to shut up, so he stood back and watched eagerly as the two charged at each other. The fight was quickly over as Wolverine took one slash at Sabretooth and decapitated him. Deadpool picked up Sabretooth's head and taunted the rest of the enemies, but he and Wolverine were incapacitated by a giant magnet and knocked out by a leg of a Sentinel.
Deadpool, Wolverine and Human Torch were tied up and placed in a cage together. When they awoke, Human Torch explained where they were, and that everything present is annihilated by Alioth, which Deadpool knew from Loki Season One Episode Five. They also learned of a Resistance of heroes, so Wolverine determined they could help them escape the Void, so Deadpool happily agreed to the team-up. Human Torch warned them about Cassandra Nova, who he used vulgar language to describe, and told Deadpool he could be quoted.[1]
Meeting Cassandra Nova[]
- "This may be hard to hear, but there's another British villain. He's gonna destroy my universe, and I'm gonna stop him."
"Oh, honey, you don't really strike me as the world-saving type. Did I hit a nerve?" - âDeadpool and Cassandra Nova[src]
The three prisoners arrived at Cassandra Nova's Lair, which was the skeleton of a dead Giant-Man, which Deadpool joked about Paul Rudd finally aging. Deadpool then thought they were being greeted by Professor X, but instead it was Nova in his wheelchair. Nova explained her backstory and decided to free Deadpool and Wolverine.
When Nova turned her attention to Human Torch, Deadpool revealed that they were told all about Nova by him. Wolverine and Human Torch tried to get Deadpool to stop talking, but he continued, quoting in exact crude detail what was said about Nova. Human Torch desperately denied everything, but Nova ruthlessly ripped off his skin, instantly killing him. Wolverine blamed Deadpool for his death, but Deadpool just responded that he was not his favorite Chris, and that his presence was impacting the movie's budget.
Nova pointed out Alioth's arrival, but Deadpool attempted to explain his predicament, needing to save his world, which Nova claimed Deadpool was not the world-saving type. This silenced Deadpool, and Nova picked up on it being a sensitive subject for him. Deadpool demanded that Nova helped them. They then listened as Nova talked about how the TVA sent her to the Void, but Deadpool did not care for her trauma bragging. Wolverine went to attack Nova, so she used her powers to bury him underground. Deadpool asked Nova to help him escape the Void, which she revealed that she was capable of doing but refused.
Instead, Nova phased her fingers through Deadpool's head, which allowed her to access his mind. Nova searched through Deadpool's memories, and manipulated one with Vanessa Carlysle to have her say that Deadpool would never matter. Deadpool was able to break out of Nova's hold, and Wolverine returned and they attacked her; however, it did no damage. Nova retreated as Alioth began to swarm the compound, so Deadpool and Wolverine escaped using the rocket on a Sentinel's leg.[1]
[]
Deadpool and Wolverine crash-landed upon a cliff. Wolverine snapped at Deadpool, saying that he would do the talking from now on, which Deadpool felt would be hard for the audience. Wolverine then mapped out their plan to get back to Mr. Paradox by finding the Resistance and getting them to help them escape the Void.
The two stopped by Joe's Diner, where Deadpool asked Wolverine about his costume, claiming that his was red so that no one could see him bleed. Wolverine asked if Deadpool had been checked for ADHD, but Deadpool just joked that he probably got several STDs because of it. Wolverine pointed out the spots of hair from Deadpool's toupée, stating that it was obvious he wore one. Deadpool brought up his universe's Wolverine being the ultimate hero, and talked about how he wanted to also matter, but had only been rejected by everyone.
As they walked, Wolverine asked what happened to his Variant, so Deadpool revealed that he died while trying to save X-23. Deadpool passed on advice from Blind Al to Wolverine, in that he needed to listen to his pain instead of running from it as it can teach people who they are. They then saw a dog in a Deadpool costume run towards them and jump into Deadpool's arms. Deadpool wanted to bring the dog with them, but Wolverine was against it. They were then joined by a handsome Variant of Deadpool named Nicepool, who owned the dog and possessed a pair of gold-plated Desert Eagles that Deadpool wanted.
Nicepool introduced them to Dogpool, who Deadpool let lick his mouth. Deadpool was annoyed at how nice and good looking his Variant was, and asked about the Resistance. Nicepool confirmed their existence, but also warned the two about the Deadpool Corps. Nicepool offered his them his ride to get to the borderlands, but when Deadpool discovered that it was a Honda Odyssey he was adamantly against driving it. Nicepool asked for Dogpool back, which Deadpool was reluctant to do, wanting to keep her.[1]
Fight with Wolverine[]
As they drove, Deadpool again asked Wolverine about his costume, wondering why he would wear it, but Wolverine insisted he stop talking about it. Instead, Deadpool mimicked Spider-Man's Web-Shooters, much to Wolverine's annoyance.
Deadpool questioned what Wolverine would do if the TVA could fix his world. Wolverine abruptly stopped the car, realizing that Deadpool had no clue whether the TVA could actually change what happened to his world so he stabbed him in the leg. Deadpool defended his actions by saying he made an educated wish, and that it was all so he could get Wolverine to help save his world. Showing Wolverine a picture of his friends, Deadpool told him that they were his whole world and that he did not know how to save them, but Wolverine did.
Enraged, Wolverine proceeded to viciously insult Deadpool, calling him a joke and agreeing with the Avengers and X-Men's decision not to recruit him. Wolverine added that in his entire existence, he had never met anyone as pitiful as Deadpool and not only reiterated Cassandra Nova's point about him never being able to save the world but used it to cruelly mock his failure to keep Vanessa Carlysle in his love life. Deadpool was silent after Wolverine's harsh words, and gently responded that he was going to fight Wolverine. The two then violently brawled in the car until they both tired out.[1]
Meeting the Resistance[]
- "This is what I'm talking about; big slow-motion fight, sad music, everybody working together, who knows if you live or die, that sort of thing. Who's ready!?"
- âDeadpool to the Resistance[src]
Deadpool woke up inside a hideout, with neither he or Wolverine knowing how they got there. Hearing someone approaching, Deadpool rushed to attack them, but was immediately bested and dropped to the floor by Elektra. Deadpool yielded, and witnessed as Blade and Gambit joined them, leading Deadpool to realize they were the Resistance.
Deadpool greeted each member individually, starting with Elektra, who he mistook for Wonder Woman, then Blade, who Deadpool thought was retired and alluded to their past together, and then concluding with Gambit, who he mocked for his incomprehensible accent and his film that was never made. Deadpool learned that there was a fourth member, and hoped it was Magneto, only to be informed that he was dead, causing Deadpool to curse Disney for now deciding to be cheap.
They were joined by X-23, who Deadpool notified Wolverine of her being his daughter that he previously mentioned. Deadpool asked how the Resistance ended up in the Void, so they told him that the TVA showed up, told them their universes were dying, and refused to let them fight for it, but instead pruned them when they resisted. Deadpool inserted himself onto the team to get out of the Void, although Wolverine interjected, warning the Resistance that Deadpool was a liar.
Deadpool revealed to the Resistance that he and Wolverine had escaped from Cassandra Nova's compound, and that Nova was the only way out of the Void. However, none of them believed Deadpool, stating that each time they had gone up against Nova, they lost members, including Daredevil, who Deadpool gave his condolences for to Elektra, but she was not too affected by it. Gambit also mentioned Human Torch going missing, so Deadpool pretended to not know him.
Sensing that the Resistance were in need of motivation, Deadpool tried to convince them that by working together they could force Nova to comply with them. Deadpool told them that they would still be able to avenge their universes, claiming that it was what Human Torch would have wanted. At the mention of Human Torch, Elektra asked how Deadpool knew him, so Wolverine outed Deadpool for getting him killed. Deadpool defended himself, blaming Human Torch for his own demise, and circled back to getting the Resistance to help save his world.
Elektra had no interest in saving Deadpool's world, but she was intrigued by their chances of defeating Nova, so he suggested they use Magneto's helmet to block Nova's psychic powers, only to find out that the helmet had been melted by Nova. Elektra proposed using Juggernaut's helmet, which Gambit commented on, but Deadpool could not understand him. The Resistance were inspired by Deadpool to fight back and get their ending, which Deadpool was hyped by, only for Wolverine to bring down the mood by stating that they'd all die.[1]
Escaping the Void[]
- "I just need to get home."
- âDeadpool to Cassandra Nova[src]
The next morning, as the Resistance approached Cassandra Nova's compound, Deadpool tried to translate for Gambit, only to give up and tell the camera to tilt up to Blade. Deadpool asked where Blade's weapon came from, Elektra answered that it was Punshier's AT4. Deadpool wondered which Punisher, due to the several iterations. Blade commented that he was the only Blade, but Deadpool looked to the camera, knowing there would be another.
Blowing up the entrance, the Resistance drove inside the compound, exited Ol' Betsy, and stood together while being surrounded by Nova's henchmen. The two sides charged at each other and commenced fighting. The Resistance pushed forward until Deadpool and Wolverine were inside. The two confronted Nova, who had been expecting them, and Deadpool asked her to take them home, but she refused. Nova used her powers to attack Deadpool, slamming him into the ceiling before throwing him across the room.
The rest of the Resistance managed to steal Juggernaut's helmet, and X-23 threw it to Deadpool. While Nova was in Wolverine's mind, Deadpool snuck up on her and put the helmet on her head, neutralizing her psychic abilities. Deadpool then demanded Nova send them home or he would kill her. However, Nova revealed that she could only do that with the helmet removed, and as soon as they would do that, she would instantly kill them. With no other choice, Deadpool and Wolverine then argued over which one of them would kill Nova.
At that moment, Nova was shot by Pyro and would soon die, so Wolverine told Deadpool to remove the helmet. Deadpool was hesitant to do so, but Wolverine told him that he finally felt like an X-Man and that Professor X would not want Nova to die. Wolverine removed the helmet, and Nova decided not to kill them, but instead opened a portal with a Sling Ring to Deadpool's universe. Deadpool and Wolverine jumped through the portal before Alioth ate them.
The portal brought them above Drive Max, causing Deadpool and Wolverine to crash in front of Peter Wisdom and the Chipman family. The children were in awe of seeing the two superheroes, particularly Wolverine, so Deadpool commented that Disney were going to make Hugh Jackman play the role until he was ninety years old. As they left, Deadpool told Wisdom to clock him out forever, confirming his return to being a superhero.[1]
Fighting the Deadpool Corps[]
- "With the whole Multiverse thing. It's not great. It's just been miss after miss after miss. Look, The Wizard of Oz did the Multiverse first and they did it best. The gays knew it, but we didn't listen. Let's just take the L and move on."
- âDeadpool to Ladypool[src]
Deadpool and Wolverine rushed to the subway entrance outside his apartment where they confronted Mr. Paradox. Deadpool immediately asked why Thor was crying in his future, but Paradox ignored the question. They witnessed a portal open up, and Cassandra Nova came through. Nova entered Paradox's mind and learned about the Time Ripper, which she intended to use, so she launched Deadpool and Wolverine away, crashing into Liefeld's and knocking them out.
When Deadpool and Wolverine got back up, they witnessed Dogpool come through the portal, much to the joy of Deadpool, who embraced her. However, this bliss was ruined when Nicepool arrived out of the portal and asked for Dogpool to be returned to him. Deadpool wanted Dogpool to choose who her owner should be, mockingly referring to Nicepool as "Van Milder." Nicepool enjoyed the reference and claimed he also had fourth wall awareness, which he demonstrated by looking into the camera and saying "The Proposal." Although Deadpool was insulted by how he broke the fourth wall in comparison to himself.
Wolverine told them both to stop talking, revealing that he could smell a lot more Deadpools incoming. They witnessed Deadpool Corps emerge out of the portal, having been sent by Nova to protect her. Deadpool handed Dogpool to Wolverine and went to speak with the Corps. Deadpool asked if they could just be done, but Ladypool insisted that they fight. However, Deadpool clarified that he meant being done with the Multiverse narrative, claiming it had not been great, and that only the "The Wizard of Oz" did it right.
The Corps told Deadpool that Nova will destroy the Multiverse with the Time Ripper and that they couldn't stop her. The Corps then fired upon the three, so Deadpool used Nicepool as a shield while getting to cover. Wolverine accused Deadpool of getting Nicepool shot on purpose, but Deadpool dismissed it. Nicepool revealed that he did not have a healing factor, so Deadpool dragged him over to a nearby donut stand across the street to save him, only for the Corps to continue shooting Nicepool until he died.
Wolverine joined Deadpool on the other side of the street, where Deadpool had already stolen the golden pistols from Nicepool's corpse. Deadpool asked Wolverine if he was ready to fight, and the two walked back out. Wolverine put on his mask, which Deadpool was excited to finally see, and the two charged at the army of Deadpools. Deadpool used his new guns but soon ran out of bullets, so he proceeded to use his katanas to stab several Deadpools, as well as using Headpool as a weapon.
Together, Deadpool and Wolverine were able to clear through the entirety of the Corps, violently stabbing and slicing all of them. The fight was ended with the two of them jumping out of a bus window, only for Deadpool to not stick the landing, which disappointed him. They noticed Babypool laughing at them, which confused Deadpool, only to turn around and see all of the Deadpools getting back up, as they could regenerate, which frustrated Deadpool as they needed to stop Nova.
Before another fight began, they were saved by the arrival of Peter Wisdom, who was wearing his Deadpool's old suit. To Deadpool's surprise, all of the Corps were thrilled to see Wisdom, revealing that every Deadpool in the Multiverse had their own Wisdom. The Corps then cheered and bombarded Wisdom with praise, so Deadpool and Wolverine took the opportunity to sneak away from the Corps and make their way down the subway to deal with Nova.[1]
Finally Mattering[]
- "You were right. One of us would have been killed. But you put a Deadpool and a Wolverine together, make them hold hands while listening to Madonna? Indestructible, motherfucker."
- âDeadpool to Mr. Paradox[src]
Deadpool and Wolverine found Mr. Paradox, who told them they were too late to stop Cassandra Nova. Deadpool promised the audience they were nearing the end of the movie, and asked Paradox explain what the stakes were. Paradox revealed that they could stop Nova from destroying all timelines by creating a circuit between the matter and antimatter feeds, but it would annihilate whichever one of them chose to do it.
As they rushed to the feeds, Wolverine stopped to remind Deadpool that stopping Nova would be fatal. Deadpool decided that he would sacrifice himself, feeling bad for dragging Wolverine into the situation and lying about being able to save his world. Wolverine forgave Deadpool, and showed Deadpool the picture of his friends who he needed to get back to, unlike Wolverine who had no one. Wolverine went to make the sacrifice, so Deadpool told him that he waited a long time for them to team up and that he was the best Wolverine.
But, once Wolverine opened the door, Deadpool hit him in the face with a fire extinguisher and swapped places with him. Wolverine demanded that Deadpool open the door, but he refused, determined to make his "noble sacrifice," once again claiming that he was Marvel Jesus. Deadpool told Wolverine to say hi to his friends for him, but Wolverine told Deadpool that he didn't need to do it. However, Deadpool, having learned the lesson from Happy Hogan, stated that he was not doing it because he needed it, but because they did.
Deadpool then pulled out one of the feeds and tried to reach over to the other side to create the circuit, but it was too far away. Wolverine managed to break down the door, grabbed Deadpool's hand and put his claws through the other feed, creating the circuit. Wolverine's top was ripped off him, exposing his abs, which Deadpool nodded in approval to the camera. As the matter and antimatter painfully surged through their bodies, Deadpool and Wolverine looked at each other with acceptance, and were able to short-circuit the Time Ripper, destroying it.
Deadpool and Wolverine were able to survive the obliteration, due to them sharing the matter and antimatter between them. They returned to Paradox, who thought they had been killed, and Deadpool told him that this Wolverine was the new anchor being for his universe. After making Wolverine cover up, Deadpool told Paradox that one of them would have died, but the two of them holding hands while listening to "Like a Prayer" made them indestructible.
B-15 went to have Deadpool pruned, but Peter Wisdom arrived, informing her that he was from this universe. B-15 revealed to them that their actions saved Deadpool's universe from extinction, and that their work was just getting started, making Deadpool joke again about Hugh Jackman being Wolverine until he was ninety years old. Deadpool asked B-15 to free the Resistance members from the Void, which she approved. But when Deadpool asked about fixing Wolverine's past, she informed them that it led to him saving the Multiverse, so it couldn't be changed.[1]
Celebrating Victory[]
Wilson and Logan went to get some shawarma, quipping that the Avengers discovered it. Wilson was overjoyed to see Dogpool was still around, and he picked her up. Wilson asked about Logan's plans, and he responded that he probably would not see him again. As Logan walked away, Wilson called out to him and asked him to stay. Logan obliged, and they headed up to Wilson's apartment, where Wilson introduced Blind Al to Logan and Dogpool.
B-15 followed through with her promise and Wilson and Logan were reunited with Laura, who also decided to stay with them. Later on, Wilson had another party at his apartment with all of his friends, now joined by Logan, Laura and Dogpool. As they all sat around laughing, Logan told Wilson to talk to Vanessa Carlysle. Wilson told Carlysle that he saved the Multiverse for her, and she responded by holding his hand, rekindling their relationship as they smiled at each other.[1]
Working with the TVA[]
Setting the Record Straight[]
After saving his world, Deadpool continued working for the TVA. Frustrated with people believing that he got Human Torch killed, Deadpool decided to put an end to it by reviewing footage of Human Torch when they were being transported. The footage revealed Human Torch telling Deadpool he could be quoted on the things he said about Cassandra Nova, satisfying Deadpool and clearing his name.[1]
New Coworker[]
- "My eyes are over here. There you go. Give yourself permission. Surrender to it. Slide into my DM. That's right, just lose ourselves in tangled sheets and bodies. We'll ignore each other at work for four or five days, and then we'll come back hungry."
- âDeadpool to the Hero of the Multiverse[src]
A person in the Multiverse created a series of new timelines, attracting the attention of the Time Variance Authority. Miss Minutes decided to recruit the person and contacted Deadpool on a Chrono Monitor, as Deadpool was being recruited to be the person's new coworker. Deadpool walked out of an elevator in the Time Variance Authority Office's elevator. He showed off for his new coworker and did a flip, before posing and farting. Deadpool flirted with his new coworker, horrifying Miss Minutes. The Chrono Monitor then quickly turned off.[3]
Sacrifice on Svartalfheim[]
- "Apparently, you have some important future purpose to serve."
"With Thor. He holds me." - âMr. Paradox and Deadpool[src]
Deadpool eventually found himself on Svartalfheim accompanied by Thor. Deadpool got very injured to the point where his mask was ripped in half. Thor looked down upon Deadpool mimicking himself many years prior when Loki faked his death, and wept over Deadpool's body.[1][4]
Personality[]
Wade Wilson is maniacally comedic, sarcastic and has an extremely irreverent sense of humor that can easily irritate and annoy most of his enemies, and even some of his own allies and friends like Wolverine. He regularly insults and belittles his enemies for his own amusement. He also feels no shame and can make a joke out of any situation, even one that is not at all in his favor. He is also unable to act appropriately according to the situations at hand, exhibiting a poor ability of self-monitoring, exemplified when he used foul language in front of a family with children while selling cars, and provoking an already irritated Wolverine in the Void. Wilson is also highly arrogant to a fault, as he is unwilling to accept responsibility of his wrongdoings, self-proclaims to be the "prime" Deadpool while confronting the Deadpool Corps, and thinks that he is the Anchor Being of his reality when conversing with Mr. Paradox. Not only does Wade attack those around him with vulgar language, but he also often responds to others' insults with the same comedic sense of self-sarcasm. This is shown when he often uses a joke to respond to others' serious criticisms, even if it meant insulting himself.
However, beneath all his maniacal comedy and sarcasm, lies a tortured person who deeply cares for his friends and loved ones and desperately wants to matter in the world, even trying to join the Avengers to satiate the latter need, only to be rejected. The rejection eventually led Deadpool into a depressive spiral, culminating in a mid-life crisis where he gives up the superhero identity and resorts to a boring life as a car salesman. During this period of self-doubt, the love of his life, Vanessa, also broke up with him. This desire to matter and contribute to something meaningful is not absolute, as Wade is unwilling to give up on certain fundamental principles, which he sees as absolute and that he must follow whatever the circumstance. One of these principles is a strong sense to protect those he love and care about. His care for his friends was so great that he rejected the opportunity to join the Sacred Timeline offered by Paradox and sought to instead save his friends, even if it meant allying with a dejected Wolverine and going against Paradox, breaking his nose in a fit of rage. During Wade and Wolverine's final confrontation with Cassandra Nova, Wade was even willing to sacrifice himself to cause a short-circuit in the Time Ripper, reflecting that he is willing to sacrifice himself to save those he loves, and that he sees Wolverine genuinely as a friend after their adventures together.
Wade had wanted a team-up with Logan for many years. But while this wish finally became a reality when he was forced to partner with a reluctant Wolverine to save his reality, it was not all smooth sailing. Wade's irreverent sense of humour stood in stark contrast to the alternate Logan's no-nonsense attitude and hostility which was further augmented by Logan's dark past. This led them into multiple fights with each other and a number of exchanges of hurtful insults. But as Deadpool's love for his family moved Logan and led to Wolverine's self-redemption, Logan's actions had also changed Wade for the better. As Wade pointed out, the Logan that he saved had also saved him, in that the adventures with Wolverine had led to Wade finally contributing and actually meaning something. Following the Preservation of Earth-10005, Wade has recovered his confidence and regained a sense of purpose, eventually leading to him having the courage to reconcile with Vanessa.
However, at times Wade had a tendency for inadvertently or intentionally causing the deaths of some people he familiarized himself with in a short time and who did not harm him in anyway, showing a complete lack of remorse. Instances include revealing Johnny Storm's badmouthing and insulting of Cassandra Nova to the latter, leading to Storm's death. He also displayed a one-sided rivalry and hostility towards his Variant Nicepool, and intentionally got him killed by his other Variants by using his body as a shield from their gunfire, soon taking the latter's pistols for his own use and also finally getting to own Dogpool, which were his ultimate goals. On both instances, this behavior was reprimanded by Wolverine, even when he denied his own part in causing Storm's death.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Mutant Physiology: Wilson was naturally born with mutant genes. However, his physiology was drastically altered after he survived experimentation, becoming deformed in the process and also awakening several special abilities.
- Superhuman Strength: Wilson's strength and endurance have been enhanced to superhuman levels, as he effortlessly broke Mr. Paradox's nose with a headbutt. He also systematically broke off pieces of his Logan's Adamantium skeleton as improvised weapons against TVA soldiers, and was even able to use the blunt ends of his bones to pierce their armor; in one instance, he impaled one soldier through his helmet and kicked it out the other side of his head. Throughout his fights against Wolverine, Wilson was able to match his rival's equally superhuman physical strength, notably giving him a nosebleed with a single punch and even kicking him several meters through the windshield of Nicepool's Honda Odyssey.
- Superhuman Durability: Wilson's durability and endurance have been enhanced to superhuman levels. Coupled with his regenerative factor, the extremely high level of durability meant that Deadpool could engage in fights with enemies for a very long period of time, as shown when he fought Wolverine in point-blank range without rest for a few hours. He repeatedly took stabs to various parts of his body (including his gut and head) but still continued.
- Superhuman Speed: Wilson can run very fast, as he and Wolverine were able to reach Cassandra Nova's portal in four seconds before they could be consumed by Alioth.
- Superhuman Agility: Wilson's agility and body coordination are enhanced well-beyond the natural physical limits of a common human being.
- Superhuman Stamina: Wilson can exert himself for longer than anyone normal human, as he fought Wolverine for the majority of a day in the confined space of Nicepool's Honda Odyssey.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Wilson has superhumanly acute reflexes as a result of his artificial mutation. Hence, he can react quickly in a combat scenario, enough to keep pace with multiple TVA soldiers, slice bullets mid air with his katanas (albeit with minimal success) and contend with Wolverine. In one instance, he caught two spare magazines with his pistols. He was able to catch an axe thrown at him while walking through a Timedoor.
- Enhanced Senses: Wilson was able to sense someone taking photos of him from across the street while Peter Wisdom was completely unaware of it.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: As a result of his artificial mutation, Wilson's body was enhanced and he developed extremely accelerated healing and regenerative powers. He can heal from any injury (both internal and external), such as bullet wounds, slashes, and other forms of cuts in seconds. For example, he could almost immediately realign his arm, which was forcefully broken by Wolverine. He even took stabs to his head, but was able to survive. He managed to regrow lost organs and bodily parts, but those take more time to recover when compared to injuries that do not involve the loss of body parts.
- Pain Suppression: Due to his healing factor, his body can suppress the immense amount of pain caused during fights, which usually end with him seriously injured.
- Nigh-Immortality: Due to his regenerative capabilities, Wilson is immune to physical aging. He is also virtually impossible to kill and cannot be infected by any kind of disease, as well as a weapon capable of destroying a universe. Wolverine even remarked in frustration at how Wilson cannot die.
- "I smell what you're stepping in. The power in the Marvel universe is about to change forever."
- âDeadpool to Mr. Paradox[src]
- 4th Wall Awareness: Deadpool possesses an awareness that he is a fictional character existing within a film franchise. This ability penetrates deeper into the real world than She-Hulk, who is only able to access a lesser version of reality that mirrors the real world. Before he was given the offer to join the Sacred Timeline, Wilson was already aware of its existence. Wilson is not only aware of the existence of Marvel, the Fox X-Men, and the Disney-owned Marvel Cinematic Universe, he also understands and references the real-life circumstances of their coexistence and is aware that his franchise has been acquired by Disney, even adhering to specific guidelines set by Kevin Feige. Wilson is aware of the existence of the Avengers, Thor, and Captain America despite their complete absence from his universe, mistaking a Johnny Storm Variant for Steve Rogers, with whom he bears a striking, uncanny resemblance. Before encountering Alioth, Wilson was already aware that it first appeared and existed in Loki, Season 1 Episode 5. This multiversal awareness extends beyond the aforementioned timelines as he was also aware of all the cinematic Punishers that existed in other film franchises. Wilson understands that the people existing in his reality are characters portrayed by actors and is able to explain reasons for inconsistencies in his world due to budgetary or practicality constraints in the real world. Deadpool is also able to communicate his thoughts with the audience members watching his adventures and has been shown to be able to interact with the "cameraman" broadcasting his reality. This power also provides Wilson with limited precognition, giving him the ability to predict or foreshadow certain events that fit narratively within his story, as well as events that transpire in the real world.
Abilities[]
- Master Martial Artist: Due to his special forces training, Wilson is highly skilled in unarmed combat. As a result of his unpredictable nature, Wilson is highly dangerous in combat. Wilson's overall fighting style incorporates Karate, Ninjutsu, Taekwondo, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Niten Ichi-ryƫ. Wilson was able to kill several Minutemen with the adamantium bones of the former variation of Wolverine. He later engaged in duels against with Variants of Wolverine several times; however, he was consistently outmatched by the latter due to his extensive combat experience. Regardless, when greatly enraged and focused, he dueled Wolverine throughout the night and equaled him in skill.
- Sword Mastery: Wilson is a highly trained swordsman. His swords allow him to cut through several trained shooters with ease. He was able to kill several TVA Minutemen using his dual katanas. Wilson used his swordsmanship skills to fight against Wolverine, who only survived Wilson's multiple stab wounds due to his healing factor. He was able to kill the Minuteman leader by ricocheting one of his swords with a single strike.
- "Baby knife!"
- âDeadpool to Wolverine[src]
- Knife Mastery: Wilson is highly skilled at using knives in combat. He used a knife to stab Wolverine during both of their fights. Wilson also demonstrated knife-throwing skills, such as when he dug up Logan's corpse and used some of his bones as throwing projectiles to kill multiple TVA agents.
- Nunchaku Mastery: Wilson has demonstrated proficiency with nunchucks. After digging up Logan's corpse, Wilson used Logan's adamantium bones as a pair of nunchucks to kill multiple TVA Minutemen.
- Master Marksman: Because of his special forces training, Wilson is highly proficient with firearms. Wilson typically prefers dual pistols while shooting in combat. He was able to shoot Wolverine and multiple members of the Deadpool Corps with great accuracy, all of whom only survived due to their healing factors.
- Master Acrobat: Wilson's enhanced reflexes and agility make him highly evasive and mobile in battle. He is capable of performing complex aerial movements while in combat. Using a variety of free-running and parkour maneuvers, Wilson is challenging to anticipate with his erratic and spontaneous movement.
- Master Assassin: Wilson is an extremely skilled assassin. His special forces training combined with his trait of talking too much gained him the nickname of "Merc with a Mouth." Wilson was able to kill several TVA Minutemen using only Logan's adamantium bones.
Equipment[]
Weapons[]
- Twin Katanas: Wilson carries two katanas made of adamantium on his back created by the TVA. He used these swords to kill multiple Minutemen and fight against Wolverine. He later used these swords to fight against members of the Deadpool Corps.
- Desert Eagle Mark XIX: Wilson uses a pair of .50 AE pistols when operating as Deadpool. He utilized these pistols while fighting Wolverine, but the latter sliced the barrels of the pistols with his claws. After Nicepool's death, he used his pair of gold plated Desert Eagle pistols to fight against the Deadpool Corps with Wolverine.
- "This is baby knife. She's gonna fuck you in the face now."
- âDeadpool to Cassandra Nova[src]
- SOG Daggert 2 Combat Knife: Wilson carries this combat knife holstered in his right boot, which he dubbed as âBaby Knife.â Wilson used it to fight against Wolverine twice and when attempting to kill Cassandra Nova.
- Benchmark Punch Daggers: Wilson carries a pair of punch daggers sheathed on the pectoral area of his suit, which he used to fight against Wolverine. The punch daggers are more commonly used in close-quarters combat in case the twin katanas are less effective, such as in his fight with Wolverine in the Ol' Betsy.
- Wolverine's Corpse: In an effort to salvage the Anchor Being of his universe, that being Wolverine, Wilson exhumed his body from its resting place only to find it completely skeletonized. Confronted by the TVA's Minutemen, he improvised weapons using Wolverine's bones, such as nunchucks, maces, shuriken and gauntlets bearing his claws, using their adamantium composition to his advantage.
Other Equipment[]
- Deadpool Suit: Wilson wears a red and black suit when operating as the mercenary Deadpool to hide his disfigured form. Wilson designed the suit to be red so that his enemies wouldn't be able to tell if he was bleeding when he got injured. After being taken from his reality by Paradox, Wade received an upgraded version of his costume with a brighter red and brighter black.
- TemPad: Wade used a TemPad that he stole from Paradox after learning about his plan to speed up his world's destruction, leading him on a mission to find a Wolverine that can become his world's new anchor being. The TemPad was lost after Deadpool was pruned by Mr. Paradox into the Void, although he seemingly gained a new one, which he used to show the footage that proved that Johnny Storm did insult Cassandra Nova.
Former Equipment[]
- "Is this because I used Cable's time machine? I brought a couple of people back to life and then I destroyed it."
- âWade Wilson to Mr. Paradox[src]
- Cable's Time-Travel Device: Wade used a time-travel device owned by Cable to reverse the deaths of his now ex-fiancée Vanessa Carlysle, alongside two members of the X-Force, Peter Wisdom and Shatterstar. He later used it to kill a Variant of himself before that Variant could fight against Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds before he could sign for Green Lantern. He also used the device to visit the Sacred Timeline in an attempt to join the Avengers but was ultimately turned down, leading him into a depressive spiral that led to the device being destroyed.
Facilities[]
- Wade Wilson's Apartment: Wade currently resides in an apartment located in New York City.
- Drive Max: Wade formerly worked at Drive Max after being rejected from joining the Avengers by Happy Hogan. Upon teaming up with a Variant of Wolverine, he quit his job and returned as Deadpool.
- Time Variance Authority Office: Wade was brought to the Time Variance Authority by Paradox, per his superior's requests, as they believed he's special and is needed in battling against a "grizzly fate sometime in the future". After the crisis revolving the Time Ripper was resolved, Wade continued to work for the TVA.
Relationships[]
Trivia[]
- In the comics, Wade Wilson became a test subject of Weapon X program scientist Dr. Killbrew and his assistant Francis Fanny to cure his cancer. He was injected with a serum developed from Wolverine's DNA, causing him to develop a healing factor that saved his life but horribly mutated him and drove him insane, leading Wilson to adopt the moniker of Deadpool and turn into a comedic mercenary. Despite being associated with mutants, he's not a mutant (Homo Superior) himself, but a mutate or enhanced human.
- In 20th Century Fox's X-Men film series, Wade Wilson is a Canadian who fell in love with Vanessa Carlysle but soon learned he had terminal cancer. In order to save Carlysle the suffering, he left her and joined a experiment run by Ajax. This experiment tortured Wilson and unlocked his mutant gene, but was disfigured. Wilson then went on a rampage, killing Ajax and getting Carylsyle back. Wilson then used his powers to take down bad people until one day, Sergei Valishnikov tracked him down as killed Carylsyle. Wilson spiraled out of control, but soon found hope in helping a kid named Firefist from his pursuer, Cable. Wilson sacrificed himself for Firefist, leading Cable to go back in time and save Deadpool himself. Deadpool then used Cable's Time-Travel Device to save Carlysle.
- Deadpool is the fifth character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to break the fourth wall, after Groot, Pizza Poppa, She-Hulk and Rocket Raccoon.
- Unlike the first two, Deadpool is the second character to break the fourth wall on a regular basis, following She-Hulk.

- According to Wendy Jacobson, in Deadpool & Wolverine there was once an idea referred to as 'Deadpool's Deleted Scenes Extravaganza'. Where it would have been revealed that Deadpool was secretly in every previous MCU film, only his scenes were cut from each of them. This idea was later dropped from the film entirely.[9]
