Out of the Frying Pan (一難去ってまた一難, Ichinan Satte Mata Ichinan^?) is the hundred-seventeenth chapter of the Dandadan manga series.

Summary[]

The spatial suit alien leaves the kaiju suit after it shrinks back to normal size from taking heavy damage from Kinta and Bamora's attack. Kinta and Bamora parachute down to safety, with Kinta preparing to proudly yell out his name but is interrupted by Momo who calls him "Erosuke". Momo, Okarun, and Mr. Mantis Shrimp then manage to close the portal after retrieving the kintama. The three celebrate as the only thing they need to do now is to help Aira and the Evil Eye defeat the remaining aliens. However, the three look up in shock to see the UFOs of the main force managing to pass through the portal before it closes and initiating their attack in the area, causing Empty Space to gradually tear apart and have them return to normal space. While Mr. Mantis Shrimp rushes over to fight with Aira, Momo and Okarun tries rushing over to the mecha to fight back against the main force before any casualties are made after Empty Space is completely broken. However, Momo is confronted by Reiko Kashima who delightfully expresses her plan to torture her inside her mirror and falls to her knees in despair as she is faced with more trouble. After hearing her wish to see Seiko again, Reiko Kashima briefly has a flashback of bombs raining down and sees the same thing happening around her with the main force. Irritated by this, Reiko Kashima uses her mirror power on the glass buildings to project out a large fist that destroys the main UFO.

Trivia[]

• The release of this chapter is close to the day of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Whether intentional or unintentional on the author's part, Reiko Kashima's death being revealed to have been from airplane bombings gives clear reference to this event.
