Summary[]
The Minotaur's body shattering from Seiko's kick reveals that the true identity of the enemy is a male human. After the man starts to beg Seiko for mercy, Payase is left perplexed by his actions, while Kashimoto expresses his irritation towards the man regarding the numerous times he has assaulted him throughout their confrontation. As the man gets down on his knees to apologize. Seiko inquires why he was after her. The man shows Seiko a text message on his phone, informing her that he was contacted by an orchestrator to confront her at the restaurant. Upon learning this, Seiko suspects an accomplice and confirms that this is the case after checking outside to see a person with a dark aura walking away. Payase believes that the accomplice is the one who was in control of the jiangshi. The man becomes demanded by Kashimoto to call back the accomplice but tells him that it wouldn't be possible since he recently met him and that they only have a connection to the orchestrator, who they have never seen their face. Seiko then inquires whether what he said is similar concerning the accomplice, to which the man responds that messages are dispatched to all individuals, resulting in occasional overlaps with the intended targets. After Kashimoto demands for him to clarify what he means, the man pulls out three of the power extraction knives to show them. Payase, visibly shocked by the appearance of the knives, turns to Seiko, who questions the reason behind the man's possession of them. In response to Kashimoto's question regarding the nature of the knives, Seiko explains that they originated from Asura, a sword stolen five years ago that was known to have the ability to steal yokai powers and compel its wielder to engage in mass murder. The man reveals that he and his accomplice were tasked with the collection of yokai powers, and that those who successfully gather a considerable amount will see their wishes granted. Payase criticizes the man as a fool for believing in such a thing. Kashimoto, however, urges Payase to hold his tongue so that they may learn more from the man. The man explains that his actions were all to save his wife who only has a year left live and that he became affiliated with the orchestrator after a work colleague introduced them. Despite this recollection, he admits that he cannot recall the physical features of the long-term colleague, who seems to have also faded from other people's memories and the company records.
At the faculty office, Murakami asks Sanjome if he had seen Adachi anywhere. After Sanjome asks why, Murakami explains that he and a few others plan to attend a singles mixer and extends an invitation for Sanjome to join them. Sanjome, intrigued by the proposition, agrees to join. At that moment, a video about basketball facts is shown playing on Sanjome's computer monitor.
Bega shows up at Juicy Gyoza Manufactory Dandadan to investigate a report of suspicious activity at the restaurant. The staff informs him that a man was left alone at the scene and that there were three others who left after paying the bill. Bega then turns his head noticing Seiko, Payase and Kashimoto talking to each other around the corner. Seiko tells Payase and Kashimoto that she will focus on her granddaughter's situation first and cautions them to remain vigilant regarding the dangerous circumstances they are facing, to which they respond that they will conduct an investigation and reach out to every quarter. They are then approached by Bega who prepares to ask them a few questions regarding the restaurant incident. However, just as Bega shifts his gaze from his notepad to them, the trio stealthy move to the top of the building to hide from him, much to Bega's shock and confusion.
