The Silver Wolf/Script
After taking Bulgar, the Etrurian Army enters Roartz's manor to deal with him once and for all. Before the battle, Roy speaks to Niime and wonders if the Demon Dragon also has a human form. Niime mentions that dragons in human form are rumored to live among humans, reminding Roy of Arcadia, though he does not tell her of the village. Then, Niime tells him of the Ending Winter. It was a disaster that twisted the laws of nature, turning day to night and summer to winter. She suspects that the Ending Winter may relate to dragons taking human shape, though the truth can only be found in Bern.
The Silver Wolf Dayan, leader of the Kutolah as well as Sue's grandfather, slips into the manor during battle to take out Bern's forces by himself. Either Roy, Sue, or Sin can convince Dayan that the Etrurian forces will not occupy Sacae as Bern has and he then joins the Etrurian Army.
Roy's forces manage to at last defeat Roartz and free Sacae from Bern's occupation. If all members of the Kutolah survive the battle, Roy will receive a report from Merlinus that the remnants of the Djute are hiding in nearby ruins, speculated to hold a legendary bow. Roy immediately heads for the ruins to retrieve the weapon.
If any member of the Kutolah dies or the battle drags on for too long, the Djute will succeed in hiding the weapon and join Roartz's side in battle. Instead of heading for the ruins, Roy pens a letter to Yoder to inform him of all Roy has learned about dragons from Niime. He gives the letter to Merlinus to read, and Guinivere arrives in his absence. The two continue their previous conversation in privacy.
She tells him that her father was jealous of Zephiel's talents because he was so ordinary, and wished to prevent Zephiel's ascension, going so far as to promise Bern's throne to Guinivere's future husband. Yet the people of Bern wished for Zephiel to become king, motivating Desmond to attempt to murder his son.
Desmond gave Zephiel a poisoned drink at a banquet. For ten days, Zephiel fell ill and only survived thanks to Murdock's aid. Somehow, Zephiel learned of Desmond's plans to murder anyone Zephiel held dear, including his mother and Murdock, so Zephiel faked his own demise. During the funeral, when Desmond went to view Zephiel's body, Zephiel jumped from the coffin with a sword in hand, killing his father. Since that moment, Zephiel never smiled again. Though Guinivere misses the kind brother she once knew, she asks Roy to put a stop to Zephiel's plans. Roy answers that he may need his sword to do so, which Guinivere accepts.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
This is a fog of war map and certain enemies are unreachable unless you possess a Warp staff.
If You Have a Warp Staff:
Send two characters immediately on your first turn to the left and right sides. Use Elffin/Larum to accomplish this in one turn and target the enemies. Alternatively, send one character to the central area to tackle the two Sages armed with Bolting magic, and another to the right to counter the Sage with the Berserk staff. Do not forget to bring a Restore staff.
Without a Warp Staff:
Use Bolting magic if available. If you do not have any, deploy your units with highest Resistance. Equip them with Vulneraries and Pure Waters as needed. Use strong characters when opening doors. Using only a Thief for this job exposes them to Sages, Ballista, or the next room's foes.
Additional Tips:
- Bring 2 Chest Keys to access the loot. Use different characters to open multiple chests, especially if you are moving at a slower pace.
- If you bring along a thief, make sure they have a Torch. Place them behind your main force to provide visibility while staying safe.
- Monitor enemy weapons closely. Some Warriors carry Killer Axes, some Mages have Aircaliburs, and some Snipers have Longbows.
- Using Niime: While Niime might not excel in combat, she is useful with staves and can effectively break walls with the Eclipse spell.
- Dayan will emerge on turn 2. Talk to him with Sue, Sin, or Roy to prevent him from putting himself in a vulnerable position.
- Once the Bolting Sages and other nearby threats are neutralized, you can defeat the boss using your strongest mage. Utilize the pillars adjacent to the boss for evasion.
