"A No Hair Day" is the 24th episode of the second season of Pepper Ann. It aired on January 16, 1999.

Synopsis[]

When Craig shaves his head to be more aerodynamic for the swim team, Pepper Ann worries about whether or not she's shallow, as she's shocked to find that Craig doesn't look right bald.

Plot[]

Pepper Ann, Milo and Nicky comment on the fact that Alice Kane has chosen Pink-Eye Pete to be her lab partner. She claims that she picked him because it will allow her to focus on her work without any social pressure, though she still finds him disgusting. Shortly afterwards, Pepper Ann is invited by her crush Craig Bean to the Freezy Pleezy after school. She accepts, though she begins to second guess herself over the invite. Upon arriving, she is shocked to find that Craig is bald now; having shaved his head along with the rest of the swim team to be more aerodynamic, but his head is noticeably wrinkled. Horrified, she runs back to her friends to tell them, though they do not see the issue.

Pepper Ann begins to worry that she is shallow and tells Craig that other people have been commenting on his head and appearance, but he says that he does not care what other people say about him and that she should not care either. She converses with her friends who all give various answers as to how she should handle the situation, with most of them agreeing that she should not worry about how he looks and instead only think of his personality. Her reflection, in the form of a clay mold, tells her that she is starting to act like Alice who throughout the episode has been belittling Pete for his unhygienic appearance and antics.

Pepper Ann rushes, still in her art clothes, to tell Craig about her honest opinion on his appearance. However, another girl shows up and begins to mock Pepper Ann for her messy attire. Craig and the rest of the swim team stand up for her and the girl apologizes. Touched by how Craig stood up for her, she decides to end Alice's abuse towards Pete. Afterwards, Alice humiliates herself by falling into the pool and Pete getting his own kicks with her. Craig is impressed with how Pepper Ann handled the situation, but Pete offers to become Pepper Ann's new science partner instead, much to her discomfort. Milo and Nicky bet that she will catch pink eye from him.
