Shadow Yakumo (
The organization has the same origins as Sumeragi, and while Sumeragi is publicly known with its scientific prowess, Shadow Yakumo acts as its counterpart using spiritual power to protect Japan from behind the scenes. They are the ones in charge of creating and overseeing the Glaives Sumeragi uses to try to control Adepts, as well as other mystic relics. At some point Shadow Yakumo began to argue with Sumeragi about their use, but due to Sumeragi-aligned Adepts being enhanced by the Armed Phenomenon transformation provided by Glaives when their Septima is unsealed, Shadow Yakumo struggled to oppose them.[1] Sumeragi's two blunders regarding the Muse resulted in further friction.
Following Sumeragi's procurement of 1000 Glaives, Shadow Yakumo finally decided to take matters into their own hands and sent in Kirin to investigate.
They use multiple shell companies to mask their operations (one of which is named "Interior Creators"). According to Kirin, Shadow Yakumo can erase a person's existence down to their birth certificate, so heavy investigation into these shell companies is considered unwise.[2]

Trivia[]
- The presumed Shadow Yakumo emblem appears to be based on Siddhaṃ script characters like those that appear during Kirin's shifting to Gunvolt skill, as well as Serpentine's Mystic Mandala skill.
- In the Episode 41 stream, host and Japanese trailer narrator IKKAN jokingly called them "Kakariko Village".
