The Viking Offense is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Viking Offense's icon takes the form of three green shields spinning around as a ring barrier, leaving the cyan aura trail in its wake. In gameplay, the Viking Offense will send three shields surround the user.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Viking Offense can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Valhalla Surge .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Viking Offense by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Viking Offense will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Viking Offense is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Viking Offense is in effect. Also, should the user take damage while the Viking Offense is in effect, the Viking Offense will negate the damage, losing one of the shields which surrounding the user, like a Shield though at the cost of the Viking Offense ending prematurely if three shields are lost (match with three damages that the user is dealt while the Viking Offense is in effect once). In addition, any rival character who approaches the user while the Viking Offense is in effect will be stunned, causing them to lose Rings , stop moving for a moment and lose a randomly item they currently have.
The Viking Offense can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the Viking Offense will last longer.
