Create a copy of Infinite in front of a rival to attack them. Prove you're the only one who has what it takes.

— Description, Sonic Forces: Speed Battle

The Deadly Replica is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Trap Item used primarily to obstruct opposing rivals' path.

Description[]

The Deadly Replica's icon takes the appearance of an image of Infinite's head with a swirl of his Phantom Ruby-derived red energy cubes behind it. In gameplay, this power-up becomes a stationary Phantom Copy of Infinite who stands in the middle of a column of his red energy cubes.

Overview[]

In gameplay, the Deadly Replica can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Infinite. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Deadly Replica if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.

SFSBDeadlyReplicaEffect

The effect created when hit by the Deadly Replica, from Sonic Forces: Speed Battle.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Deadly Replica by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Deadly Replica will drop its Infinite Phantom Copy some distance directly ahead of the current position for the player rival(s). If a character touches one of these Phantom Copies, they will take damage, thus causing them to lose Rings and stop moving for a moment. In addition, this power-up will temporarily apply a red filter with red energy cubes along the edges of the screen, replace all Item Boxes and Dash Panels with Spikes, and make Badniks indestructible to its victims. All of these effects linger for a short amount of time, before wearing off. To avoid the Deadly Replica, the playable character has to step out of its lane.

The Deadly Replica can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. When leveled up up to level 4 and 10, the damage inflicted by the Deadly Replica will be increased. When reaching level 16 however, the Deadly Replica's Phantom Copies will appear in front of more rivals when used.
