Pull from the deck and hit your rivals with a card! A hero card will snatch rings and a dark card will steal you a powerup!

— Description, Sonic Forces: Speed Battle.

The Lucky Draw is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Projectile Item used primarily to attack rivals.

Description[]

The Lucky Draw's icon takes form of Dark Card (appearance of the hammer on it), leaving the yellow and purple swirling trail with sparkles in its wake. In gameplay, the Lucky Draw will spawn an aforementioned Fortune Card which move forward leaving the yellow (if the hero card) or purple (if the dark card) trail.

Overview[]

In gameplay, the Lucky Draw can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Fortune Teller Amy. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Lucky Draw if they use the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Lucky Draw by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user sets loose the Lucky Draw's shot, which will travel down the lane it was deployed on in front of the user until it wears off. Rival characters that make contact with the Lucky Draw will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. In addition, the Lucky Draw will spawn two different cards with different abilities at random:

  • Hero Card (appearance as regular Fortune Cards): If the player succeeds in hitting an opponent with this attack, they will gain Rings.
  • Dark Card (appearance as the Virtuous Heart): Similar to Steal, the rival character who hit by the dark card will have their Projectile or Trap items they currently have stolen. The affected rival will have pink smoke covering up the stolen Item on the HUD in question before being removed. Upon receiving the stolen Item, Fortune Teller Amy can use the stolen Item as if it were her own. However, the Lucky Draw cannot affect to all boost, clone attack, Steal, and items which belong to Fortune Teller Amy.

To avoid the Lucky Draw, the playable character has to either step out of its shot's lane or jump over it.

The Lucky Draw can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12, respectively. For each upgrade, the Lucky Draw will deal more damage.

Trivia[]

  • The card depicted in the lucky Draw's icon is "Virtuous Heart"; one of the major fortune cards from Amy's Fortune Card set.
