Ember Shroud
Purpose
Damaging opponents Obstructing opponents' vision.
The Ember Shroud is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Ember Shroud's icon takes the form of the flame in the tornado (much similar to the Whirlwind and Fire Whirl 's). In gameplay, the power-up will spawn the pillar of smoke tornado down the track.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Ember Shroud can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Pyromancer Blaze . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Ember Shroud if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Ember Shroud by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Ember Shroud will spawn the line of smoke pillars some distance ahead of the user's current location on all the lanes that the user is not currently on. If a character, including the user themselves, touches one of these smokes, causing them to lose Rings , and slow down temporarily. Additionally, the said user will be obstructed with their vision with gray smoke for a moment. To avoid the Ember Shroud, the playable character must either jump over its portals or run in-between them.
The Ember Shroud can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. For each upgrade, the player will increase the damage dealt with the Ember Shroud.
