The Wrapweaver Arachnode is a medium-sized member of the awrapnid family appearing in Pikmin: Dual Worlds. For the most part, it ignores Pikmin, instead attacking leaders. If it happens to ensnare any Pikmin, it will happily eat them, though it prefers to attack leaders, possibly due to the beacon on their helmets. The Nackidow will drop from above or jump on leaders from behind a corner, wrapping them and any unfortunate Pikmin in the web it has stretched between its legs and then dragging its captives elsewhere. Once at its destination, it will unwrap the squad, allowing it to eat Pikmin, up to five at a time, and bite leaders, removing one-sixteenth of their maximum health, but providing an opportunity to defeat it or flee.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Unlike the Arachnode, this beast prowls an area, carrying its web with it. It does use this web to ensnare its prey just like its relative, but it cleverly uses small barbs on its legs to spread the web between them, allowing it to actively hunt down a meal. This has allowed it to become much larger than its relative.

Louie's notes

Remove the legs and split the core into eighths, then further split it in circles towards the center. Salt it and the legs and douse in sriracha, then bake for 30 minutes. Lastly, batter it, deep fry, and serve with ranch for a delectable blooming Arachnode!

Alph's notes

Structural flaw: Attracted to lights. Weight: 5. While it will eat Pikmin if they're unattended or if they end up getting caught in its web, it won't actively hunt for them if a larger being it can eat is nearby. If nothing else, it's efficient.

Brittany's notes

Those striking jagged bronze and deep purple stripes are quite inspiring! They certainly give an impression of a dangerous lurking beast. I believe the bronze carapace is to help it blend in better with trees and dirt while in the dark, whereas in the light it shines in such a way that it's easily visible. Maybe it's so others of its kind can find it.

Charlie's notes

These things got the drop even on me. I would take special care to scout out any dark corners or strange shadows before walking through with my squad. A few Rock Pikmin take care of it just fine, same as its web-weaving relative, though!
