Abilities and Powers[]

Adio is considered to be a monumentally serious threat by the World Government, given that he possesses a bounty of over two billion, on par with the most wanted criminals in the world. He's capable enough to have come into conflict with one of the Four Emperors, destroy half of their fleet at the time, and defeat one of their allies, earning much fear and wariness from the World Government.

Weapons[]

Adio's main method of combat is two large pistols, which he can use with great proficiency.

Devil Fruit[]

Further information: Kote Kote no Mi

Adio ate the Kote Kote no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to summon large gauntlets with which he can grab and manipulate any non-living thing.[1]

History[]

Past[]

Adio was born into the Wandering Clan during their wandering, somewhere in the Grand Line. By the time he reached young adulthood, he was the leader of the clan, and led them in their wandering.[7]

At some point, they came into conflict with one of the Four Emperors, and Adio managed to destroy half of their fleet and defeat their friend. This caused the World Government to be even more wary of him and the clan than they already were, assigning him a bounty that eventually raised to Beli2,009,430,000.

Eventually Pororoka, Adio's navigator, found out about Waford and discovered that it was likely their homeland.[8] Adio became obsessed with finding the island, and eventually managed to do so;[9] however, Waford was surrounded by violent storms, and the Wandering Clan couldn't approach it. Over the course of the next three years, clan members began remaining on islands they visited, with Adio promising to make contact with them when he managed to make landfall on Waford.[10]

Eventually, Pororoka plotted a course to keep damage to a minimum, and the two approached Waford. However, Adio became ill during the ship's journey, and could barely write, though he resolved to continue onwards despite his condition.[11]

One night, Adio overheard a Den Den Mushi call between Pororoka and the Marines; Pororoka had poisoned him and planned to sell him to the World Government to have him publicly executed, as the two were the last known survivors of the clan. Upon hearing this, Adio dove into the sea, but was recovered by the very Marine ship that was hunting him. After escaping, Adio learned that Pororoka had been executed by the Marines for committing an unknown crime. Knowing that he was the last of his people, Adio swore to take revenge on the world that had caused their suffering.

He traveled to Waford and discovered the priestess Lim. Manipulating her using her loneliness and knowing that pirates would no doubt land upon the island as well, he told Lim to take away their powers, planning to use them to defeat the Colossi scattered around Waford that protected the Divine Breath.

One Piece Odyssey[]

Chapter 1[]

After the Straw Hat Pirates crash landed on Waford, Adio Suerte became away of their presence. He remarked that they could be useful, and watched as they fought with the Fire Colossus and Lim stole their abilities. However, before they were defeated, he rescued them from the Colossus and brought them back to his house, where they met back up with Lim. After she apologized, Adio prepared food for the crew, which Luffy promptly ate. After allowing the Straw Hats to rest, Adio guided them to the Lake Shore Cave.

When they returned to his house, he congratulated them on retrieving one of their cubes. He also told them that there are other Colossi on the island, and informed the Straw Hats that they likely had some of their cubes. He offered to bring them to the nearest one when they want to take it on. He leads them up Thunderhead Bluff, eventually reaching Thunderhead Ruins. Due to Luffy's immunity to lightning, the group was able to enter the ruins, and travelled to the bottom to take on the Thunder Colossus.

Adio traveled with the Straw Hats through the ruins, using ancient lightning-generating technology to open blocked pathways. Upon reaching the bottom, they found the Thunder Colossus locked behind a barrier made of lightning. Wanting to fight it, the group rerouted the lightning on the bottom level, powering down the barrier, and were attacked by the Colossus. While the Straw Hats fought the Colossus, Adio provided support from the rear, healing when necessary. After defeating the Colossus, it attempted to use a last-ditch beam of lightning against Usopp; however, Adio was able to block it using his Kote Kote no Mi powers. As the Straw Hats thanked him, he noticed the Thunder Colossus' core on the ground, and picked it up for further research. Upon returning to his house, Adio watched as the Straw Hats tried to re-absorb one of their cubes, and directed them to Lim for questions. He later traveled with them to find her, and listened to her explanation about the large cubes.

Chapter 3[]

Half a day later, Adio was at his house when the Straw Hats and Lim returned from Memoria. He went out to greet them, and told the Straw Hats about Mukchi (ムクチー, Mukuchī?), a Mukashic Synthesizer. After a short break, Adio began guiding the Straw Hats to the Wind Colossus, in the Dust Ruins. While Sanji and Zoro were suspicious about how he managed to find the Colossus at the perfect time, Adio convinced them it was fine, telling them that the Thunder Colossus' core was the only key he was missing to access it. He brought them to the Ruins, just west of his house, and the group entered.

The group entered the ruins, but were quickly stopped by the shifting quicksand. They returned to Lim, and the Straw Hats left Adio behind while returning to the Arabasta Kingdom Memoria to retrieve a Moving Crab.

Once the Straw Hats returned with Kogani, Adio rejoined the group and they entered the ruins. Like the Thunderhead Ruins, the group needed to open doors using ancient technology, this time light reflection and mirror-based.

After unlocking the first door, the group discovered a switch to rotate the ruins, allowing them more access to emblems to be used as keys. After retrieving the two emblems, they arrived at the Wind Colossus' room, and challenged it to a fight. The group defeated it, and Adio retrieved the Colossus' core. With the next large cube now obtained, the group returned to Adio's House to meet with Lim. The Straw Hats left for Memoria while Adio stayed behind, preparing to investigate the next Colossus.

Chapter 5[]

Adio was waiting at his house when the Straw Hats returned from the Water 7 Memoria. With Franky having joined them after completing repairs on the Thousand Sunny, Adio introduced himself for the first time. When Lim returned, he heard that the ball inside her jar had been stolen, and suggested that it might have been taken by the Yoisas. The pirates and Lim left to find the ball, while Adio stayed at his house.

When the pirates returned with Lim's stolen ball, he brought them to the Ice Block Ruins, east of his house. Like the previous ruins, they needed to open various doors inside the ruins, this time using machinery to change the state of water from liquid to solid, and vice-versa. After defeating the Water Colossus, Adio remained at his house while the Straw Hats entered the next Memoria with Lim.

Chapter 7[]

Upon the pirates returning to Waford, Adio was approached by Lim, who was worried about how the Straw Hats would fare against the Fire Colossus. However, Adio promised her that if it looked like they would lose, he would get them to retreat, stating that he was worried about them as well.

Later, Franky found Awa Awa Mushrooms, which interested Sanji. Adio informed him that they grew in the Lake Shore Cave, and Sanji left to find them. When the rest of the Straw Hats were looking for Sanji, Adio directed them there as well.

When the Straw Hats returned with the mushrooms, they asked Adio to borrow a barrel to make cola, and he let them. After making the cola, the Straw Hats and Adio traveled to the Sunny to recover Brook's body, but found the ship surrounded by ice. After Adio explained the weather phenomena caused by defeating the Colossi, the pirates were attacked by a Seiuchi Hyakkaten who ate Brook's frozen body. After defeating the Merchant Walrus, the group was suddenly attacked by the Fire Colossus. However, this time they were able to defeat the Colossus; with it gone, the Straw Hats returned to visit Lim while Adio stayed behind.

Using a stolen Den Den Mushi, Adio called Smoker, who was approaching the island due to a Marine distress signal he had sent. Smoker warned him that if he targeted the Divine Breath, the World Government would call a Buster Call on Waford, but Adio only encouraged that, stating that he was hoping for as many Marine ships as possible that he could destroy. Ending their call, Adio warned Smoker to stay away from Waford.

With the seal around the Divine Breath gone, Adio traveled to the Tower of Heaven.

Chapter 9[]

Having reached the Divine Breath, Adio approached it, blocking the stray lightning with his Kote Kote no Mi abilities. Using A Jien Te, he took control of the Divine Breath, and gained control of its power. With it under his control, Adio watched as a Buster Call approached Waford.

He began destroying the ships in the Buster Call, remotely controlling the Divine Breath from the Tower of Heaven rooftop. With the Divine Breath, he managed to destroy most of the Buster Call's fleet. As he orchestrated the destruction, Adio was interrupted by Lim, who asked him about his clan. Offering to explain the truth, he lured her forward before pulling out his pistol and shooting in the chest. The Straw Hats, having just climbed onto the rooftop, watched Lim fall to the floor, and Luffy jumped to punch Adio in anger. However, Adio used the power of the Divine Breath to force him and the rest of the pirates back.

Warning them not to follow him, Adio jumped onto the Divine Breath, flying down to Waford's southern beach to continue destroying the Buster Call. However, he was followed by the Straw Hats, who found him gloating on the beach. When asked about Lim's state as a cube, he stated that he didn't know the cause. He decided that the Straw Hats were getting in his way, and they began fighting.

Adio was defeated by the Straw Hats, causing his control of the Divine Breath to dissipate. However, he was happy that the Divine Breath began rampaging as a consequence, encouraging it to destroy everything in its path. As he and the Straw Hats were thrown back by the weapon, he goaded the pirates, taunting them and asking if they thought they could stop the Divine Breath.

He watched as the Straw Hats defeated the Divine Breath, and got angry at them for ruining his plan. He decided that he would search for other ancient, powerful weapons, resolving to take the Thousand Sunny as his ship in the meantime. With the rest of the Straw Hats going to protect the Sunny from the Buster Call, Adio and Luffy began to duel on the beach, arguing about their goals in the process. Ultimately, Adio was defeated by Luffy, and he was thrown down.

When the real Lim approached and explained the truth behind her copy, Adio stood back up, reacting the broken down Divine Breath. He explained that even if he had lost to the Straw Hats, he wouldn't be giving up on his goal to create a new world, and flew out to divert the Buster Call from Waford.

His current status is unknown.
