Pororoka was a descendant of the ancient tribe from Waford, as well as Revina's husband and Renny's father. He is an important background character in One Piece Odyssey.[1]

Personality[]

Pororoka was considered a trusted partner of Adio and, according to Smoker, acted to keep Adio's stubbornness in check.

That said, Pororoka cared more about his own family more than the safety of his clan, betraying his own people as part of an agreement to protect Revina and Renny.

Abilities and Powers[]

Pororoka was a navigator, and one skilled enough that Adio trusted his life on to sail through even the harshest of storms, without question.

History[]

Biography[]

Much like Adio, Pororoka was a descendant of the Wandering Clan. According to Smoker, Pororoka was often seen with Adio wherever they went.

At some point, Pororoka married Revina, and 14 years ago they had a daughter. However, his daughter had a serious illness, causing her to break out in uncontrollable coughing fits. In a bid to cure her, Pororoka made an agreement with the World Government, obtaining a ball of highly condensed Island Clouds, which when worn by Renny stopped her coughing. In exchange, Pororoka was obligated to betray his clan, which he implemented by convincing Adio to have them disembark then giving their information to the World Government. During this process, Revina and Renny entered World Government custody as prisoners, where they could be protected.

Finally, Pororoka reached the point where he had to turn over Adio. The Government wanted to publicly execute Adio, so he poisoned him enough so that he would be weakened and could be handed over to the Government. However, Adio overheard Pororoka's plan during a Den Den Mushi call and jumped off the ship.

Legacy[]

Later, after escaping custody, Adio found out Pororoka had been executed in his place. This event was the catalyst that made Adio hold a grudge against the World Government and led him to seek the Divine Breath, a legendary weapon, in order to remake the world.

Trivia[]

  • Pororoka is named after a real aquatic phenomenom, the Pororoca, a type of tidal bore that travels upstream on the Amazon River. The term can be translated to "Great Roar" from the indigenous Tupi language.
  • Pororoka is currently the only known deceased navigator in the series.
