Yikk is a character in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
Description[]
Yikk is a white humanoid being who wears blue. He has orange hair and a pointed nose and moustache. His ghostly form is transparent and has a whispy tail. The book that contains him is brown with white pages. What colour his eyes were prior to his death is unknown, but their colour in his ghost form is black with white pupils.
History[]
Prior to his death, Yikk invented the Tower of Yikk and the Boo-ray Machine to study ghosts. After he died, he inhabited a book. When Bowser encounters him in the Tower of Yikk, he appears from a book that Bowser is reading. He created the Boo-ray Machine to study ghosts, so he is similar to Professor E. Gadd in this aspect. Yikk explains his machine and how to use it, but then he goes back into slumber and cannot be talked with for the rest of the game.

Trivia[]
- Yikk is similar to Professor Elvin Gadd from the Luigi's Mansion games due to his name coming from an exclamation (with his name coming from "ick" which signifies disgust and Professor Gadd's name coming from "egad") and his ghost research.
- The Prima Guide doesn't call him by his actual name rather just calls him the inventor.
- In the DS version, Yikk's book remains on his table, but cannot be interacted with. In the 3DS version, his book vanishes completely.
Nomenclature[]
In Japanese, Yikk is called Ibikki (written イビッキ), from ibiki ("snoring"). His French name is Ronfloski, from ronfler ("to snore"). In German, his name is B. Huubert, from the common Boo's German, name Buu Huu, and the name "Hubert." His Korean name is Deureureong, a snoring onomatopoeia (written 드르렁). In Spanish, he is called Fantómasen, a corruption on fantasma ("ghost")
