Beta Kretins are enemies found during a boss fight with the Alpha Kretin in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Beta Kretins are the blue, ball-shaped creatures that make up the Alpha Kretin and Alpha Kretin-X. Beta Kretins are the ones who captured Princess Peach in the Flab Zone. Once Mario and Luigi get up to the point where Peach is, the Kretins split up to form the Alpha Kretin.

The Beta Kretin's only attack is when he duplicates himself, all the clones plus the real one encircle Mario and Luigi. Once they encircle them they start to shoot lightning to each other. When Mario and Luigi are in the path of the lightning bolts, they must jump right before the Kretin shoots them. The Mario Bros. can tell who the Kretin is aiming for, as a different Kretin jumps up and down. When Mario and Luigi are hit by the electricity, they lose health.
