Swim for Your Life! (also known as Superstar Road-3) is an underwater level in Superstar Road. It appears in New Super Mario Bros. U and reappears in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
Layout[]
The player starts the level on the ground surface. There is a pipe where the players can enter underwater.
Underwater, a Cheep Chomp will chase the players. Every ? Block the player passes by contains a Fire Flower (replaced by a Super Mushroom if the player is in its mini form), allowing them to defeat the Cheep Chomp. Despite defeating the Cheep Chomp, another Cheep Chomp will appear onscreen and continue chasing the player. The player will encounter Urchins that can be defeated by the Cheep Chomp. The player can bait the Cheep Chomp to knock out the Urchins. The player can also take out the Urchins in their fire form. After surpassing the wall of Urchins, the player will encounter Cheep Cheeps. Until they come across a wall of Cheep Cheeps, the player will encounter Spiny Cheep Cheeps until the player can exit the pipe.
After exiting underwater, the player will return to the surface and encounter Brick Blocks that allow the player to reach the top of the Checkpoint Flag.
Star Coins[]
- Star Coin 1: Four Urchins are surrounding the Star Coin.
- Star Coin 2: An area with Cheep Cheeps and Urchins will have the Star Coin falling from the top of the screen.
- Star Coin 3: Reach the end of the underwater section, two Urchins are blocking the Star Coin.
