Birdo Eggs, or Birdo's Eggs, are a type of egg used by Birdos, including the signature character. Since their debut in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic (released overseas as Super Mario Bros. 2), Birdo Eggs have been used as projectiles that Birdo spits out of its cannon-like snout. In some appearances, such as their debut, Birdo Eggs are a plain white egg. Since Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, several subsequent appearances of the Birdo Eggs give it magenta spots, retroactively making them like Yoshi Eggs, which have distinct green spots.
In Super Mario Bros. 2[]
These are spit as projectiles by both pink and red Birdos individually, with the latter alternating between spitting either them or individual fireballs. Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, or Toad can attack Birdo by throwing her eggs back at her. Some battles provide the option of throwing Mushroom Blocks at Birdo instead. Birdo is defeated after three hits, regardless over whether eggs or Mushroom Blocks are thrown at her. Because green Birdos cannot spit eggs, Mushroom Blocks are the only way to attack them.
In the Super Mario Advance remake, Robirdo spits out giant eggs.
In Mario Kart series[]
Mario Kart: Double Dash!![]
Birdo Eggs were provided as an alternate to Yoshi Eggs. Like Yoshi Eggs, their homing capabilities are amazing and release three random items, which could be a Bob-omb, Star, Mushroom, Green Shell, Red Shell, Thunderbolt, Fake Item Box, or a Banana Peel. The bottom of the screen will show if an egg is nearby the player.
Mario Kart Tour[]
Birdo's Egg appears as an item. Drivers that obtain Birdo's Egg will get one in the race. When the driver uses this item, it will chase down the driver's opponents, the item will be revealed after the egg breaks. Birdo's Egg can be used by either Birdo, Birdo (Light Blue), or Birdo (Yellow).
