The bouncing blade is a pointy light-blue object that lies on the ground, expanding and contracting repeatedly.

In Super Mario Advance[]

The bouncing blade is a rare object only found inside the second jar of World 5-2. If a playable character touches the bouncing blade, they lose a heart point. The bouncing blade cannot be taken out regularly, as it is unaffected by the nearby vegetable and POW Block in the same jar. A character can only take out a bouncing blade by touching it while under the effects of the Starman, although this does not earn them any points.
