Origin is the 606th chapter of the Kingdom manga.
Summary[]
As Ou Sen's main army approaches the Ri Boku’s with no formation, this strange decision surprises both the respective Qin and Zhao officers as they wondered what Ou Sen is up to. Once the two armies meet, Den Ri Mi thinks that his lord’s straight-forward approach is foolhardy, but the battlefield soon appears to be an even exchange and he notes that Ri Boku's soldiers are no longer pulling off any complex tactics, and the Ou Sen soldiers just continue to send out men after men, but the exchange is apparently even because due to the soldiers not doing anything special. Expressing his surprise, Earl Rai can hardly believe that Ou Sen has discerned Ri Boku's tactics so quickly in such a short amount of time and Sou'Ou begins thinking about Ri Boku’s soldiers earlier maneuvers as it reminds him of something.
Back over at the Qin’s HQ, Ou Sen begins to describe the nature of Ri Boku's tactics to his commanders, explaining that like the steps of someone moving their arm, every movement in an army has an “origin”. Ou Sen says that masters of war can detect the origin of an army’s workings and use it to their advantage, but one cannot detect these movements with logic and reasoning. Rather, individuals who can read a formation just by a soldier’s face are none other than instinctual type warrior. Ou Sen surmises that just from his one encounter and battle with Duke Hyou, who represented the embodiment of an Instinctual Type Great General during the Battle of the Southern Path five years ago, that Ri Boku was able to understand and mimic the mechanisms of instinctual types. Hammering this knowledge into his soldiers Ri Boku emerged with a hybrid army with both instinctual and strategical strengths. Ou Sen notes that like himself, Ri Boku is truly a monster for accomplishing this feat.
Back over at the Zhao side, Earl Rai thinks that the Ou Sen army's lack of tactics has also left them defenseless and vulnerable and commands the Zhao's right army to attack Ou Sen 's left side. The Zhao's left army also attacks, and Ou Sen's retinue begin to panic, but Ou Sen calmly observes the battlefield and instructs his soldiers to pincer multiple sections of each army. The Ou Sen army appears to have the upper hand against the attack, and Ri Boku and the commanding officers of both respective sides realizes that Ou Sen has read his attack and countered it with him saying the origins have become surprisingly clear when viewed in a certain manner.
