Unprepared is the 10th chapter of the Kingdom manga.
Summary[]
Muta, the savage assassin stalks Ka Ryo Ten as he aims his blowpipe at her neck. Detecting Muta's killing intent Shin leaps from his bed and suspects something. Ka Ryo Ten recalls something her grandfather had told her before his death when Muta decides to attack, as he begins to blow however a scabbard comes hurling at him and crashes into the ground where he just stood. Muta recovers and finds Shin standing above him, Shin issues Muta a challenge. Meanwhile Sei Kyou's soldiers follow a treacherous trail Muta has left leading them to the rendezvous point.
Shin and Muta stand off against one another. Muta questions whether Shin was the one to kill the Shukyou Jo Kan, Shin asks what he'll do if he is, Muta claims he will make Shin suffer before he kills him. Judging his appearance Shin estimates Muta's strength and considers him weak looking, mocking Muta before the hunter raises his blowpipe to his mouth. Shin's body reacts and Muta reveals he uses poison darts strong enough to kill an elephant, however because Shin underestimated him Muta puts his darts away and claims he will prove how great a warrior is by revealing two small hand axes. With no hesitation Muta launches himself at Shin at great speed. Shin is also fast as he dodges and counters yet surprised when slashes to find nothing but thin air.
