Steal

Steal (Japanese: 盗む Steal) is a utility skill which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It is near-universally exclusive to Thieves and their promoted forms, and allows them to use the theft-related abilities central to the class's role in most games, with the skill's exact abilities and criteria varying between games. While in Genealogy it let the user automatically steal an enemy unit's gold in battle, all appearances of Steal since then instead have it allow the skill's user to directly steal items or, occasionally, weapons from the enemy's inventory.

The Binding Blade	--	Allows the user to steal a single item from an adjacent target's inventory.	Command	--	Cannot steal weapons or staves. Cannot steal if the user's inventory is full.
The Blazing Blade	--	Allows the user to steal a single item from an adjacent target's inventory.	Command, if (user's speed ≥ enemy's speed)	--	Cannot steal weapons or staves. Cannot steal if the user's inventory is full.
The Sacred Stones	--	Allows the user to steal a single item from an adjacent target's inventory.	Command, if (user's speed ≥ enemy's speed)	--	Cannot steal weapons or staves. Cannot steal if the user's inventory is full.
Path of Radiance		Allows the user to steal a single weapon, staff, or item from an adjacent target's inventory.	Command, if (user's speed > enemy's speed) and (user's strength > weapon's or item's weight)	0	Cannot steal currently equipped weapons or accessories. Cannot steal weapons or items if the user's weapon or item inventory is full, respectively.
Radiant Dawn		Allows the user to steal a single weapon, staff, or item from an adjacent target's inventory.	Command, if (user's speed > enemy's speed) and (user's strength > weapon's or item's weight)	0	Cannot steal currently equipped weapons or user-locked items.
Three Houses		Initiates a trade with the enemy.	Command, if (user's speed > enemy's speed)	--	Cannot be equipped by Thieves. Cannot steal weapons or regalia equipment such as Heroes' Relics (anything with a silver, gold, or black item icon).

• In Thracia 776 and The Binding Blade, unlike most other games in the series, enemy units will never automatically drop items when defeated, but will often have desirable items sitting in their inventory nonetheless. The expectation here is that the player will use Steal to take them manually, an act which will likely endanger the Thief.
