The Earth Elemental (アースエレメント, Āsueremento? or 土のエレメント, Tsuchi no Eremento?, lit. Earth Element, or アースエレメンタル, Āsuerementaru?), also known as the EARTH, Earth Element, or Gnoma, is a recurring enemy in the Final Fantasy series. True to its name, its attacks and affinity are based on the Earth element, although its appearance is often drastically different.

The Earth Elemental, also known as the EARTH or Gnoma, is fought in the Cavern of Earth and Chaos Shrine, and is the strongest normal enemy in the former. It is found guarding several chests or locations. Earth Elemental is weak to Fire, but not the other elements.
Final Fantasy XI[]
A member of the Elemental family, Earth Elementals are fought as regular and notorious monsters.
Final Fantasy XII[]
The Earth Elemental is fought in the Realm of the Elder Dream or Sundered Earth in Tchita Uplands during cloudy weather, and does not attack the player unless Magick is used or it is attacked.
Vagrant Story[]
The Earth Elemental is fought as a boss in the Abandoned Mines and as a a regular enemy in Limestone Quarry and the Escapeway.
Final Fantasy Adventure[]
The Earth Element is fought in the Cave of Ruins, Temple of Mana, Sealed Cave, and Undersea Volcano. They have a chance of dropping a X-Ether.
