I'm not evil, I'm nuanced.

– Kevin to 10-year-old Ben.[15]

Kevin Ethan Levin[25][Bandai 1] is an Osmosian[note 2] and a member of Ben's team. When Kevin first appeared in the Original Series, he quickly became one of Ben's most notable enemies. However, he reformed in Alien Force and became one of the main heroes of the franchise, until his departure with Gwen in The More Things Change: Part 1.

Appearance[]

Regular Appearances[]

In the Original Series, Kevin was a thin and scrawny boy with shoulder-length black hair, pale skin, and dark brown eyes with black-discolored marks around them. He wore a torn black T-shirt, black studded armbands, brown cargo shorts, black boots, and a padlock necklace which is a spoil from his first crime: stealing a bike and using it to run away to New York.[pop-up 3][26]

In Alien Force, Kevin had grown into a tall and muscular young man. His eyes lacked the black marks. His normal attire in Season 1, as well as Ultimate Alien, was a tight black T-shirt over a grey long sleeve shirt, blue pants, and black combat shoes. His hair, although still long, was styled into a choppy mullet.

In Season 2 of Alien Force, he wore a short-sleeved light blue oil-stained mechanic's jacket over a white muscular shirt, blue pants, and his black combat shoes. After being mutated, he occasionally used this appearance as a disguise via an ID Mask.

In Omniverse, Kevin wore the same black shirt, but the sleeves and collar were roughly cut, his grey shirt has stripes, the sleeves on his long-sleeved grey shirt were slightly torn and he wore blue holsters. His hair was longer and straighter, and his pants had a small tear below the left knee. He also wore a padlock necklace similar to the one he wore when he was 11 but marked with an "11". He also sported black marks around his eyes again.

In Weapon XI: Part 2, Kevin gets the same cross-shaped scar to his chin that his future self has.

12-year-old Kevin in Omniverse looks exactly the same as how he does in the Original Series, except for his cargo pants being grey instead of brown and his padlock necklace being marked with an "11".

Occasional Appearances[]

As shown in a fake photo in Vendetta, as a 3-year-old,[script 1] he wore a white T-shirt.

In Everybody Talks About the Weather and The Perfect Girlfriend, he wore a green jacket.

In What Are Little Girls Made Of?, he wore grey trunks as a swimsuit.

In Save the Last Dance, he wore a black tuxedo with a black bow tie.

In Birds of a Feather, when on the Moon, he wore an orange spacesuit with four arms.

In the beginning of Alien Swarm, he wore a dark grey jacket over his regular attire. While investigating Ship-It, he wore a beanie with this outfit. Later in the movie, when revealing the Mark 10 to Ben, Gwen and Elena, he wore a short-sleeved bluish black mechanic's jacket with a white name tag that had "Kev" on it.

In Trade-Off! and The Final Battle: Part 2, he wore black speedo-like swim trunks[DM 1] when he turned back to human.

In the flashback in ...Nor Iron Bars a Cage, 11-year-old Kevin looked the same as he did in the Original Series, but with blue jorts instead of brown pants.

In Ultimate Alien, he wore a standard Plumber suit during a few of his off-world excursions.

In Escape From Aggregor, he wore a pale blue winter coat and blue pants.

In Absolute Power: Part 2, he wore blue pants after he turned back to human.

In Basic Training, while at the barracks in the Plumbers' Academy, he wore an olive tank top and black shorts.

In The Perfect Girlfriend, while stalking Elena disguised as Julie, he wore the green jacket he wore in Everybody Talks About the Weather and blue-tinted glasses.

In Inspector #13, Kevin wore an Ultimatrix symbol on his chest.

In The More Things Change: Part 1, Kevin lacked the stripes on his shirt and the chin whiskers he has in the rest of the series.

While working with the Amalgam Kids, he wore black armor.

In Charm School, Kevin wore blue-tinted goggles while conducting tests on his car.

Personality[]

Okay, I like the Kevin that Gwen sees when she looks at me. And I like that you gave me another chance, even after I messed up all those other ones. I guess I'm sayin' I owe you guys for changing my life.

– Kevin, thanking Ben and Gwen for turning him a better person.[28]

Due to a complicated childhood and having supernatural abilities at a young age, Kevin exhibited psychopathic tendencies and was willing to hurt or kill anyone for his personal gain.[26] This stemmed from being treated like a freak by his peers and family and was only exacerbated by the negative mental side effects he experienced whenever he absorbed too much energy. This caused Kevin to live with many insecurities about himself; he would embrace his "freak" title while also being paranoid of other people using it against him. His paranoia would progress to the point of considering everyone to be his enemy because, as he put it, "Nobody's innocent! They just haven't had the chance to make fun of me yet!"[29] Kevin thus lived on the streets, committing various crimes and cruel acts of violence; one telling instance of which was attempting to ram a money train into another train carrying passengers, and simply parroting the phrase "no pain, no gain" at the thought of all the innocent lives that would be lost.[26]

Kevin's outlook began to change when he met Kwarrel, a fellow prisoner in Incarcecon. Becoming a mentor to him, Kwarrel helped improve Kevin's anger issues and ultimately sacrificed his life to protect him. Kwarrel would forever remain in Kevin's memory, and helped to positively influence his personality.[30] Kevin would later want to become a hero of sorts (which was later manipulated by the Rooters' leader Servantis to further his own goal).[31]

By Alien Force (and onward), Kevin had changed significantly. Despite having become a con artist and an arms broker, he was much more stable, having developed a mature yet snarky and lax personality, "as cool as they come".[AF Mini Bible 1][AF VG 1] No longer so angry, he dropped his big rivalry with Ben (what was previously so important to him) and worked with him and Gwen to honor the dying words of Magister Labrid. Though Kevin was initially untrusting of them, he befriended Ben and fell in love with Gwen during the time they spent together, growing to become a core member of their team. He also developed a respect for Max, whose younger personality Kevin's is said to resemble.[32][7]

While changed for the better, Kevin still often shows a lawless delinquent side. He cannot resist a good scheme to make money (often with Argit).[2][8][14] He once insincerely agreed to marry Princess Looma purely to get his hands on a Tetramand Engine Block.[33] Despite this side of Kevin, Ben and (especially) Gwen still greatly trust him, and offer him second chances with each break in loyalty. Kevin once told Ben that he is grateful to them for having offered him compassion and changing his life.[28]

Kevin healthily channels his delinquency through a love of cars and automotive engineering. He is extremely protective of his car, always working to improve it,[34] and becomes very upset whenever it gets damaged, which happens on a fairly regular basis when Ben is around.[22]

Kevin is shown to be very good with animals, even without trying. At one point, a Blowfish became strongly attached to him.[35] After he saved Zed from being crushed, she chose to join Kevin, despite being well-trained and previously very loyal to Khyber.[36]

Kevin's morals have also improved since he joined Ben's team. Though he may do unethical things, his conscience is clear. He now shows disgust at those who take advantage of others and the innocent, such as when he yelled at Argit for abusing Andreas' trust, sucker-punched Argit moments later for not showing any remorse for Andreas having sacrificed their life,[37] brawled Zed's previous owner Khyber while calling him a jerk for his harmful and cold treatment of her,[21] and reprimanded Ra'ad for being selfish and abandoning others to save himself, just like he would do when he was younger.[5] He even stopped himself from a great prospect of money after noticing the containment suit he was tasked with breaking open was highly sealed for a reason.[14]

Despite having adopted a more positive outlook on life, Kevin still suffers from his old insecurities, which resurface the most when he is mutated. The third time he mutated, he was visibly disgusted with himself and fluctuated between bouts of uncontrollable aggression and depression that jeopardized his relationships, especially with Gwen.[9] As Ultimate Kevin, his actions nearly completely shattered his relationships with Ben and Gwen. He also returned to calling himself the familiar "freak" and "monster", voicing jealous frustration against Ben for being a famous superhero while he remained mutated.[15]

While he cares for the innocent, Kevin is still willing to kill, either from necessity or his loyalties, and has expressed he would kill any villains that went after his family or the Tennysons.[13] For example, he was willing to let Ragnarok die to avenge his father[4] and advised Ben to kill Victor Valadis in order to destroy the Microchip Queen inside him.[3]

Kevin is also prone to making blunders, such as foolishly revealing where Sugilite had gone to Vilgax,[38] describing Charmcaster as "hot" in front of Gwen and admitting to kissing her,[9] almost getting Baz-L killed when he revealed to the Vreedle Brothers that they would not be getting paid,[39] and accidentally inspiring Prisoner 775 to try to kill Colonel Rozum.[40]

Background[]

Kevin Levin was born in a poor household with an unknown father and his mother. Kevin's real father was abusive and mistreated Kevin to the point where he ran away from home.[DJW 11] During his runaway, he stole a bike and wore its padlock around his neck as a souvenir of his first ever crime.[pop-up 4][41] Afterwards, he made his way towards New York and made his home in an abandoned subway.

Kevin in the Original Series

Kevin was first encountered by Ben in an arcade, where, after befriending him, he was assaulted by bullies and saved by XLR8. The two attempted to steal a video game from a warehouse and got caught by SWAT agents, forcing Ben to reveal the Omnitrix to him in order to escape. The two subsequently formed a partnership to use their respective powers for personal gain; however, when Kevin rigged two trains (one carrying money and one carrying people) to collide, not caring that the crash would most likely result in the deaths of several hundred people, Ben suffered a crisis of conscience and broke off their partnership. Ben transformed into Heatblast instead of transforming into Four Arms, to stop Kevin, but to even the odds, Kevin grabbed onto Heatblast and absorbed his DNA, transforming him into an incomplete version of Heatblast. When Heatblast foiled Kevin's plans and escaped, Kevin left to use his powers to get revenge on the bullies that tormented him. However, his powers disappeared, and he transformed back into to his normal form.

When Four Arms showed up to stop Kevin, Kevin absorbed Four Arms' DNA, transformed him into an incomplete version of Four Arms. As Four Arms and Kevin fought, Four Arms won and, after reverting back into Ben, offered Kevin a new home and a chance to be a good guy. Kevin agreed to reform and go with Ben, but revealed he lied and tried to take the Omnitrix off of Ben. Feedback from it transformed Kevin back to normal and appeared to have removed the powers he absorbed. He escaped and, at the end of the episode, it was revealed that he still had Heatblast's powers. After leaving the city, Kevin started making connections in Earth's criminal alien underworld.[pop-up 5][1]

Framed (1594)

Kevin's first mutation

Kevin served as the main antagonist of the second season. His ability to project heat at the end of Kevin 11 was the result of him absorbing the Omnitrix's feedback: the amount of energy it emitted allowed him to fully absorb its powers, giving him access to every unlocked alien form. However, because Kevin's ability to regulate this power was poorer than that of the Omnitrix itself, the energy suppressed his real form and forced him to remain as an alien most of the time. As revealed in Framed, Kevin blamed Ben for this, so he used the powers of the Omnitrix to start an inter-state crime spree in America, both for his own benefit and to damage Ben's (or rather, his alien forms') reputation. Eventually, Kevin's ability to regulate the power failed altogether, causing him to mutate into what Vilgax described as a "misshapen, chaotic amalgam of creatures from the Omnitrix", which Kevin called Kevin 11. Because of this, Kevin 11 fought Four Arms and, as he was about to kill him, Lt. Steel from the Special Alien Containment Team (SACT) shot him into the water, defeating him. However, at the end of the episode, he was revealed to be alive.

In Grudge Match, Kevin 11 attacked Ben as Diamondhead to get revenge, blaming his condition on him. As the two battled, they were abducted and forced to fight in Slix Vigma's gladiator games. During their battles, Ben helped Kevin 11 to realize the advantages of his mutated form: because Kevin 11 was an amalgam of aliens, he could mix and match their powers to make up for their reduced potency, unintentionally making Kevin a tougher opponent.[pop-up 6][1] Although forced to work together, Kevin 11's only goal was killing Ben. After Ben and Kevin 11 succeeded in escaping, Kevin 11 attacked Ben and trapped him against the wall with Stinkfly's goo before moving in with Diamondhead's spear hand, gloating that no matter what alien Ben transformed into, he knew every one of them. Little did he know that Ben had unlocked Cannonbolt, whom he transformed into just as Kevin 11 was about to murder him before getting into an escape pod. Kevin 11 nearly barged into the pod when he was stopped by Technorg, whom Ben had spared, and he declared a life debt to. After Technorg helped Cannonbolt escape, he turned his attention to Kevin (who had called him a lap dog just as he was about to kill Ben). The two were transported to a different galaxy at the end of the episode while locked in combat. Kevin defeated Technorg and took control of the Megacruiser.[pop-up 7][27]

On the Megacruiser in Back With a Vengeance, Kevin talks about how the name "Vilgax" kept coming up over and over as he fought warriors across the galaxy. He brought Vilgax's frozen body onboard the ship and got into a fight with squid face. They realize how beneficial it would be to work together in the fight and decide to team up in order to defeat Ben, and eventually they managed to remove the Omnitrix with Vilgax's technology. However, Kevin betrayed Vilgax in an attempt to leave both Ben and Vilgax in the Null Void and use the Omnitrix to take over the world, only for Ben to escape and leave him and Vilgax trapped instead. Kevin spent the rest of the series in the Null Void.

A dream version of Kevin appeared in Perfect Day as a hall monitor of a dream version of Ben's school. In the dream, Kevin was normal but then changed into Kevin 11 and fought Ben. When Ben took control of the dream, he was then able to defeat the dream Kevin 11.

Young Kevin after he turned back to normal

In ...Nor Iron Bars a Cage, it was revealed that back during Kevin 11's time in Incarcecon, a prisoner named Kwarrel approached him and offered to help him control his anger, revert to normal and find a purpose. After that, he learned how to absorb matter. Kwarrel then showed Kevin a tunnel he had been digging out of the Null Void. However, they were ambushed by Morgg, who would one day become the warden. Kwarrel held off Morgg for Kevin to escape, only to lose his life in the process.

While he was trapped in the Null Void, Kevin was found by the Rooters, who conducted experiments with his Osmosian powers on Alan Albright, Helen Wheels, Manny Armstrong and Pierce Wheels, transforming them into the Amalgam Kids, making them do nasty things. After that, Kevin fled, only with Servantis controlling his memories, convincing him that he had "alien blood".

WXI2 (211)

Kevin's second mutation

As shown in a flashback in Weapon XI: Part 2, Kevin first met Argit when he gave a caged Argit a leaf to eat. Kevin then said that he was going back to Earth and save it and intended to take down Ben. On Earth, Kevin discovered Argit had stowed away and threatened him to start running. He and the Amalgam Kids confronted Ben, Gwen, and Max. Ben managed to avoid a shot from Kevin and transformed into Eye Guy. Eye Guy pinned Kevin down. However, Kevin did this to get Ben to come closer so he could touch the Omnitrix, causing Kevin to mutate again. Kevin, like Ben stated, started to go insane again and even attacked his allies, the Amalgam Kids. Kevin was eventually stopped by Argit who used his quills. Kevin and the Amalgam Kids were sent back to the Null Void, but an enraged Servantis wiped out their memories and sent them away. Servantis then abandoned the plan to destroy Ben after Ben stopped wearing the Omnitrix.

Argit and Kevin

Sometime later, in the Null Void, Kevin and Argit moved some objects around and they both talked about how difficult it was to bring the objects together. A robot named Otto arrived and said that he was going to use the objects to help them get out of the Null Void. Otto tricked Kevin and Argit into turning on the device and escaped without them, leaving the now-dismayed Kevin and Argit trapped in the Null Void.

At some point later, Kevin was brought out of the Null Void by Thaddeus J. Collins, who was being possessed by Zs'Skayr and tied to the Null Void portal using Plumber technology. Collins asked Kevin to use his absorbing powers to mine Hedorium underground. Kevin was mining for Hedorium in a dark cave when he encountered Ben (who was accompanied by Gwen and Lucy and his friends Cooper and Jonesy). After Cooper examined the technology as Kevin asked him to disconnect him from the portal, Ben disagreed with Kevin's request as he had done a lot of bad deeds. Kevin then told Ben that the Earth would be in danger. Ben took Lucy and Jonesy to find out about the problem as Gwen and Cooper dealt with Kevin.

While Ben as Eye Guy, Lucy and Jonesy fought Max holding a weapon, Kevin teased Cooper about being Gwen's boyfriend but both of them stated they were just friends. As Eye Guy, Lucy, and Jonesy defeated Max, Cooper tried to pull the connection but failed. He then reprogrammed Kevin's connection to let him pull the portal like a kite. Gwen blasted at the portal to separate the ionic bonds as they headed to join Ben, Lucy and Jonesy. Ben laughed at Kevin because he was still connected to the portal, Kevin said it was better than being stuck to one spot. As the group walked further into the caves, they saw a portal which things came out off. They headed up only to see Collins, who was revealed to the children to be possessed by Zs'Skayr, and that the Transmat Portal was for the Ectonurites to come in from their homeworld. Due to the collective efforts of all the kids, everyone was saved when suddenly the Null Void portal started to pull Kevin. Ben, Gwen, Lucy, Jonesy and Cooper helped to pull Kevin in order to prevent him from being pulled into the Null Void portal, but they failed to do so when Ben lost his grip on Kevin's hand.

Kevin on Khoros

Kevin and Argit eventually managed to secretly escape from the Null Void at the same time and Kevin resumed his life. Two years after breaking away from Servantis, Kevin began working on his car. Not satisfied with a simple standard model, he began outfitting it with alien tech, and to this end, traveled to Khoros to acquire a Tetramand Engine Block for it. Since the tech couldn't be given to an outsider, he wooed the then teenage Princess Looma Red Wind and successfully defeated her combat earning the right to marry her in three years thereby making him a part of the family and was given the engine as a gift.

Kevin visited home at least once between his escape from the Null Void and prior to Alien Force.[DM 2]

Kevin demonstrating how to use a Laser Lance in his Alien Force debut

Sometime prior to Alien Force, Kevin was eventually released from the Null Void (he stated in Darkstar Rising, he did his time for his crimes) returned to normal. He grew into a tall and muscular young man who rejoined society and reconciled with his family. He also became an alien weapons dealer, giving him several contacts with criminals such as Argit, Vulkanus and Sunder as well as a considerable knowledge in alien tech.

In Ben 10 Returns: Part 1, Kevin attempted to organize a deal between the Forever Knights and the DNAliens in order to sell them illegal Level 5 weapons. However, the deal was interrupted by Ben, Magister Labrid, and Gwen. Trying to get revenge for his past humiliating defeats, Kevin fought Ben, but was easily defeated by the latter while the DNAliens escaped without paying him. Labrid then forced Kevin to help them in finding the weapon, offering him to avoid problems with the Plumbers then. Though Kevin mainly accepted in order to get his pay, in Ben 10 Returns: Part 2, Magister Labrid sacrificed himself in order to save him from a Laser Lance's explosion. This, plus Kevin's interest in Gwen, his promise to Magister Labrid, and his desire to start a better life and become a Plumber like his father, led him to agree to teaming up with Ben and Gwen against the Highbreed invasion.

Though he initially still felt a little rancorous toward Ben, Kevin slowly reconciled with him, and he proved to be a valuable ally as well as a good friend. Despite his reformation, Kevin still tended to engage in unethical activities: he was not above stealing gold and jewelry from the Forever Knights[42] and Plumber equipment from Manny Armstrong and Helen Wheels when presented with the opportunity.[43] He also had a rival in the form of Michael Morningstar.

During the course of the series, he developed a romantic relationship with Gwen. They even almost kissed in the episode Darkstar Rising.

In Darkstar Rising, Kevin revealed that his father was a Plumber. When he was little, his mother told Kevin stories about what his father did. At the end of the episode, Kevin, along with Gwen and Ben became official Plumbers, after which Kevin leaves to tell his mother about his membership.

Kevin's third mutation

In Vengeance of Vilgax, Kevin was subjected to another feedback pulse from the Omnitrix after Ben tampered with it. Because of this, he was unable to revert to his normal form, instead becoming a combination of different materials. He learned to use his powers in various new ways. Throughout the season, he was shown to hate what he had become, to the extent of wearing an ID Mask in public to appear human and considering himself a monster.

In Trade-Off!, Kevin teamed up with Darkstar to turn back to normal. He succeeded, but lost his powers, making him useless in battle to the team. Gwen found out what he did and went after Darkstar. Darkstar then absorbed all of her power, and Ben's while he was Swampfire. Kevin realized the only way to save them was to stop Darkstar. After stopping Darkstar, he got his mutation back and the Tennyson cousins were saved.

In Vendetta, Kevin discovered that his father was murdered by Ragnarok, and became bent on vengeance, so much that he eventually left Ragnarok to his death when he had the chance to save him.

Human Again

Kevin back to normal

In The Final Battle, Vilgax attempted to separate Ben from his friends. Kevin was kidnapped by Albedo in an attempt to split them up. He was also asked by Ben to back him up when taking on Vilgax, which he did. After the Omnitrix was destroyed, he reverted to normal, revealing that it was the Omnitrix that kept him that way.

In Ultimate Alien, Kevin and Ben no longer shared their famous rivalry and instead had become true friends. Kevin acted as an older brother towards Ben, and they cared genuinely for each other. Kevin was much more open about his feelings, showing gratitude and tried to express it to both Ben and Gwen.

In Too Hot to Handle, Kevin was shown to be able to repair objects in the current matter he has absorbed by releasing a liquid version of that substance and then hardening it again. He can also manipulate whatever matter he is touching by absorbing it and then morphing it into any shape or form he wants. He used both the abilities when he fixed the broken seal of P'Andor's suit, morphed it around his body to trap him, and fused the arms together as makeshift handcuffs.

In Fused, Kevin admitted he was selfish and a coward when he first met Ben. He also risked his life to save Ben from being taken over by Ra'ad.

In Ultimate Aggregor, Kevin showed a knack for detective work, and was later warned by Paradox to remember who his friends are and that things would get worse before they get better. Kevin explained to Aggregor that the reason that he was a villain in the past is that when Osmosians absorb energy, they become insane. Despite it being true, Aggregor disagreed. Throughout the episode, Kevin was more focused on stopping Aggregor than usual, stating that he felt responsible due to both of them being Osmosians.

In Map of Infinity, Kevin continued to focus on stopping Ultimate Aggregor, but was easily defeated by him. He also seemed to know about the Map of Infinity, saying it was just a legend. When the group went in search of the first part, Kevin proved to be very strong when a giant hammer crushed the group against a wall, as he managed to save the group and remove the hammer from the wall.

In Deep, the team traveled to Piscciss to find the second piece of the Map of Infinity. The helmet of Kevin's Plumber suit was destroyed, but Gwen used her powers to make Kevin absorb the matter of the Rustbucket 3, saving him from being crushed by the pressure. However, Kevin still could not breathe, until an unnamed blowfish acted as a helmet for him to breathe. When the team reached the planet's core, Kevin removed the blowfish from his head (he did not need him since there was breathable air in the core). Kevin later tried to fight Ultimate Aggregor, but was easily defeated by Ultimate Aggregor's electric attack, as he was vulnerable because the matter he absorbed was conductive. Ultimate Aggregor advised that next time, Kevin should try absorbing something non-conductive, and escaped. At the end of the episode, Kevin left the blowfish in Piscciss and was comforted by Gwen at the end, as he seemed to miss the fish.

In Perplexahedron, when Ben and Kevin were separated from Gwen, Ben reassured Kevin by saying that Gwen could take care of herself. Kevin said he knew she could take care of herself, but he wanted to take care of her anyway. During this time, the two also talked about their feelings. Ben told Kevin that he considered him the big brother he never had. Kevin then said that he was grateful that Ben and Gwen gave him another chance, and that he owed them for changing his life. Ben and Kevin later found Gwen, and after Swampfire freed Gwen from the ice, she and Kevin kissed, prompting Swampfire to say in disgust "Why don't you guys get a room?!"

TFOC289

Ultimate Kevin

In The Forge of Creation, in order to stop Ultimate Aggregor from absorbing the powers of a baby Celestialsapien, Kevin had no choice but to absorb the Ultimatrix's powers and mutate again. This form, named Ultimate Kevin, easily defeated Ultimate Aggregor and drained his powers, reverting him back into Aggregor. After being scolded by Young Ben for his selfishness when he attempted to absorb the baby Celestialsapien, Ultimate Kevin flew away from the Forge of Creation.

In ...Nor Iron Bars a Cage, to avenge Kwarrel's death, even though it went against all that Kwarrel had taught him, Ultimate Kevin purposely returned to the Null Void to kill Morgg. He would have succeeded if Gwen hadn't saved Morgg. Believing that Kevin was truly gone, Ben, much to Gwen's horror, suggested that Ultimate Kevin must be put down.

In The Enemy of My Enemy, Ultimate Kevin went after Argit for all the times he double-crossed him. He first attacked him and sent him towards Ben and Gwen. He later attacked Rustbucket 3 in order to get Argit, but was forced to retreat due to his car being thrown out of the ship. He traveled to the Plumbers' Academy and easily took care of the Plumber cadets. He then attacked and thought he killed Argit (due to Argit shutting off his pulse). During his attempt to kill Argit, he nearly killed Gwen, thinking she had betrayed him. However, he restrained himself and spared her life, saying: "The only reason you're alive is because of what you used to mean to me." before departing, making it clear that a part of Ultimate Kevin still cared about her and Gwen remaining adamant that they could still bring Ultimate Kevin back to sanity without killing him.

In Absolute Power: Part 1, Ben decided that he must kill Kevin to stop his rampage. Gwen disagreed, believing there could be a way to help Kevin. The argument escalated into a fight which Ben won, due to Gwen holding back. When Max, too, agreed with Ben that Kevin had to be put down, Gwen resorted to recruiting Darkstar, casting a spell to restore his looks. The two met up with Ben, and Darkstar explained that when Kevin destroyed the Dominus Librium, the ancient artifact that cured Kevin and Darkstar of their previous mutations,[44] he managed to salvage a piece and that it lost all of its power, but with enough energy channeled through it, they could tap into its powers and could cure Kevin. Ben was reluctant to follow through Darkstar's plan and was just intent on finding Kevin in order to put him down.

At Total Zone, Gwen encountered Kevin and explained that Ben was after him and that she wanted to help him, but Kevin started to lose control and attacked Gwen. He yelled at her for not staying away, with the last shred of his sanity having been his love for her (only now it was not enough to stop him). After a brief fight, Kevin began absorbing Gwen's powers and Gwen screamed in pain, while Kevin looked all the more pleased.

In Absolute Power: Part 2, Gwen escaped from Kevin's clutches. In the Rustbucket 3, Darkstar explained that since Kevin had a taste of Gwen's powers, he would want more, making Gwen the bait in his plan. They landed in Los Soledad, where Darkstar showed that he recruited Cooper to help him with turning Kevin to normal by building a machine that would tap into Darkstar's Dominus Librium piece. This would absorb Kevin's powers and all the powers he stole and return him to normal. Cooper began building the machine while Ben told Gwen that he was the only one who can stop Kevin's rampage because Professor Paradox told him and he was still reluctant to follow Gwen's plan.

Later, after a fight at Gwen's house, Gwen lured Kevin to Los Soledad. When Cooper tried to protect Gwen, telling Kevin to "stay away from her", Kevin picked up Cooper and jealously said "Trying to make time with my girl, huh?!" and threw him up in the air. Just when Kevin was about to punch him, Ben saved him as Ultimate Echo Echo and then fought Kevin. Ultimate Echo Echo was ready to deliver the final blow, but Gwen prevented him from doing so and convinced him otherwise. Kevin was then restored to his normal self with the help of Cooper, who was given a kiss on the cheek from Gwen as thanks, only for Kevin to sarcastically reply in return "Hey, since you're kissing people..." while pointing at his face. They shared a romantic kiss as a result, celebrating the return of the normal Kevin Levin.

In Eye of the Beholder, Kevin was eating a Fleen Cake that was considered the most delicious desert in the galaxy. After Ben caught up with him and the girls on Monawk, Kevin wasn't impressed with Ben blowing Julie off like a jerk and explained to him that if he never acted like a jerk, she wouldn't have dumped him.

In The Ultimate Enemy: Part 1, when Gwen was possessed by Dagon, Kevin followed her from her house all the way to the seal. As she began to break the seal, Kevin ran up to her and grabbed her arms, then covered her in the metal coating he was wearing, before pulling it back onto himself, with the exception of a metal cap over her head, to prevent Dagon from controlling her. Gwen felt guilty that Kevin had to do that, as he left himself wide open and she could have hurt him. He reassured her by saying that she could never hurt him.

Sometime after the events of Ultimate Alien, Kevin and Gwen left Bellwood, as Gwen went off to college, and Kevin found a home and a job near campus so he could be close with her, but not before chasing and taking down Zombozo together as a team one last time.

In Many Happy Returns, he asked Ben to hide him from Princess Looma and revealed that he fought, and defeated, her when he was 14 and to get an engine for his car. He ended up having to marry her in three years. This not only caused Gwen to become angered at keeping this secret (and giving Looma a decent thrashing), but Kevin kept quiet about the man who next defeated Looma would have to marry her; the end result was Ben getting engaged to her. Satisfied that one more thing from his past wouldn't be haunting him anymore, Kevin left with Gwen in his car, much to Ben's irritation, muttering "Kevin is so dead".

In Showdown: Part 2, he was later recruited, along with Gwen, to find Ben, who had vanished after destroying Pakmar's business again. He ended up on Galvan Mark II, where he prepared to help Ben fight Malware. However, he ended up having to fight off Khyber's former dog. During this scuffle, Kevin managed to tame it and learn its gender was female. Having taken a liking to Kevin over Khyber, the dog decided to stay with him instead. Kevin resumed his life as normal, but with a new pet to add to his responsibilities.

Kevin, Blukic, Gwen, Rook, and Bullfrag escaping from the Incurseans

Kevin made another appearance in The Frogs of War: Part 2, along with Gwen, Rook, and Argit, being a part of the resistance force that was still going against the invading Incursean army. With the help of Ben, who managed to return in his new Incursean form Bullfrag, the team rescued Max along with Driba and Magister Patelliday and freed Earth from the Incurseans.

Kevin made a cameo in Mud is Thicker Than Water, in which Gwen told him and Rook to enjoy the auto show, and they drove off.

Kevin had a main appearance in the following episode, OTTO Motives. Kevin and Rook arrived at Khoros to attend the auto show. As they walked around, they soon crossed paths with Argit. While they thought he was up to no good, the three teamed up once they found Otto, saying that they waited 5 years to get their revenge. They headed towards him, but they were thwarted by Otto's Violet Offenders. They defeated Otto after a fight between Upgrade and Otto, who became merged with a series of cars to become a giant robot.

Kevin, Gwen, and Zed were seen in the Rustbucket 3 to save Ben and Rook in For a Few Brains More where they helped defeat Khyber and Albedo.

Kevin made an appearance in Mystery, Incorporeal, in which he arrived with Zed to Friedkin University. He eventually helped Ben to fight a Rock Monster, and to investigate who was behind the attacks of the monsters. Once the team found out that it was Darkstar's doing, Ben, Rook, Kevin, and Zed fought many obstacles, including a fully powered Morningstar. The team eventually stopped him with the help of Ben as Ghostfreak.

Kevin head butts Servantis, causing him to regain his memories

In The Rooters of All Evil, Kevin was seen at the garage where he was eventually visited by Ben who says a group called the Rooters are after him. Kevin was uncertain on who they were but believed he should call Gwen. The Rooters eventually showed up and Kevin bumped heads with the leader, Servantis, and remembered who he was. Kevin then escaped in his new car with Ben and decided to tell Ben what happened between him and the Rooters. Kevin said that Servantis messed with his memories and that he is a "bad guy" who is part of the Rooters. The Rooters themselves suddenly attacked his car and Kevin absorbed metal while Ben transformed into Ampfibian. However, he and Ben were quickly defeated by the Rooters and were taken back to Plumber Headquarters. It was revealed that Osmosians aren't really aliens but are just humans with alien abilities. It was also revealed that Osmosians have different abilities and Kevin's ability is to absorb matter. Servantis was also the one that named the Osmosians and Kevin said that Servantis needs him to make a hybrid army.

Kevin giving back Argit's memories

Shockingly, it was then revealed that Devin Levin isn't real and was just a false memory that Servantis implanted into Max so that he would keep watch over Kevin. The Rooters began to fight against Ben and the others, but Kevin escaped thanks to the distraction, and everyone believed he wouldn't be seen again. However, at the end of the episode, Kevin met up with Argit in Undertown and zapped him with the red energy, restoring his memories.

In Weapon XI: Part 1, Kevin went to Alan Albright's farm to get the young Plumber to go with him. However, Swift of the Rooters soon appeared and Alan didn't trust Kevin after he almost killed him in the past. Kevin absorbed some wood in order to battle with Swift but was nearly burned by Alan due to the latter still not trusting him. However, Kevin finally gained Alan's trust again after blocking a near fatal blast from Swift. Eventually, Swift was forced to retreat back to the Null Void after getting hit by Argit's quills and Kevin shocked Alan's head, restoring old memories.

Kevin, at some point, had left a coded letter to Gwen saying he has got Alan and that she must get Manny and Helen but not tell Ben about it. Later, Kevin was with Alan and Argit, and Alan wanted to help Kevin out. However, Kevin shocked Alan again, triggering another flashback that showed Alan receiving his Pyronite powers. Kevin said he would go in alone into the Null Void to confront Servantis and asked Alan to take care of Zed. Kevin headed inside and eventually reached Rooter Headquarters. Servantis was hoping to take out the "coming storm" but Kevin lashed out, telling him to stop calling Ben that and Ben is his friend. Suddenly, Ben, Gwen, and the Amalgam Kids arrivec, much to the anger of Kevin. Servantis then put his plan into action by shocking the Amalgam Kids and turning them against Ben. Servantis then created a forcefield around himself and Kevin and seemingly convinced Kevin to turn on Ben. Kevin thrashed Ben around (who was Kickin' Hawk) until the latter was forced to retreat. At the end, Kevin rejoined the Rooters and decided to carry out his plan to destroy Ben.

Kevin's fifth mutation

In Weapon XI: Part 2, Kevin was seen with the Rooters where he was searching for Ben. Kevin was determined to kill Ben in honor of Pierce's name. Kevin was eventually confronted by Ben as Gutrot but quickly touched the Omnitrix and mutated again. Ben transformed into Swampfire but Kevin easily contained him. Eventually, Ben was caught by Helen, and Kevin took him to Servantis. When Ben woke up, it turned out that Servantis created a device that would destroy Ben and the Omnitrix at the same time. However, before Kevin could toss Ben inside, Kevin dropped Ben and picked up Servantis instead. Kevin then headbutted Servantis and shocked the rest of the Amalgam Kids, turning them back to normal. Kevin did that to stop Servantis from alternating the other's memories and turns back to normal, explaining it all to Ben. Kevin told Servantis that Ben is like a brother to him and that he will never turn on him again. Later, the Rooters were stripped of their Plumber status by the Magistrata and Kevin left the Null Void with everyone else.

In Charm School, Kevin was seen at Friedkin University working on his car. Gwen attempted to get him to come to see why Charmcaster was also at the University, but Kevin said Charmcaster was her problem. However, Kevin decided to go after hearing Ben was coming as his car may get destroyed again. Eventually, Ben and Rook arrived, and Kevin decided to use Rook's expertise in alien tech to help build the ultimate car that can survive anything. Kevin took Rook into a room with numerous advanced alien tech revealing he used his powers to harvest Taydenite in order to keep getting money (saying he doesn't have to work ever again). Eventually, Kevin and Rook constructed the perfect car capable of withstanding everything. However, when a magic spell from Gwen and Charmcaster's fight hit the car, it completely disappeared, much to Kevin's horror. However, Kevin got over it and helped Gwen and Ben fight off Charmcaster and her Stone Bats. Eventually, Charmcaster was defeated, and Kevin decided to go to the auto show with Rook.

In Third Time's a Charm, Kevin and Zed had taken residence in Lucky Girl's headquarters, still feeling sad about his car. Gwen said she had searched all over the universe for his car, but Kevin begged her to search once more. They landed themselves inside his car in Legerdomain, but Kevin got teleported out with his car, leaving Gwen stranded. Kevin called Ben and Rook for help as he was sure that Charmcaster was the one behind the situation. The three boys met Bezel, the most powerful sorcerer of all. In the library, Charmcaster appeared as she showed them that she had turned Gwen into a totem, much to Kevin's shock. The boys got teleported out and Charmcaster made a magic barrier that prevented them from entering the library. With the help of Bezel, they were able to access the library to fight Charmcaster and her Rock Monsters. Zed took the totems of Gwen, Darkstar, Hex, Addwaitya, and Bezel as Charmcaster turned into a dragon using a spell. Ben and Rook then covered Kevin as he ran to his car, but the attacked from his car would not work since he does not know magic. Ben managed to trick Charmcaster by having Skurd absorb Bezel's totem, telling Charmcaster to look inside her bag. Charmcaster touched the drawing that Gwen made using Charmcaster's magic from her lipstick, turning her into a totem and trapped inside her bag. Kevin was seen back in Lucky Girl's headquarters, being relieved that Gwen was safe and that she and Charmcaster can be friends under different circumstances.

At the end of A New Dawn, Ben called Gwen to get Kevin and proposed that Ben, Gwen, Rook, and Kevin all go on a road trip to explore the universe they watched being created together.

Powers and Abilities[]

Originally, Kevin's powers were believed to be of alien heritage,[4] but later explained to be of a unique genetic component.[23]

Energy Absorption[]

I'm like an energy sponge. Motors, air conditioners, lights, batteries, whatever! Soak it up, then dish it out when I have to... or want to.

– Kevin, explaining his powers to Ben.[26]

Kevin can absorb the energy of anything.[DM 3] This includes manna, as he demonstrated in his Ultimate Kevin form on Gwen.[45]

Kevin can absorb the energy stored in other individuals. This was shown when he, in his Ultimate Kevin form, absorbed Ra'ad, Bivalvan, Galapagus, P'Andor and Andreas, all of whom had been turned into energy,[46][DM 4] from Ultimate Aggregor.[15][DM 5]

Kevin can also absorb energy by accident, as was the case when he collided heads with Servantis and absorbed the memories stored within the Loyalty Neuro-Matrix as energy.[23] Kevin was able to carry the energy around on his hand and use it on Argit[23] and Alan[24] to restore their memories of their involvement with the Rooters.

Kevin can discharge his stored energy by projecting it out of his hands.[26]

Kevin can infuse machines with his stored energy to activate them, as he demonstrated on an arcade machine, a forklift and a train conductor switch,[26] or overload them, as he demonstrated on a keypad.[26]

Using his energy absorption powers, Kevin can absorb DNA, either directly,[26] remotely,[47] or through devices such as the Omnitrix.[31] By absorbing DNA, he also gains the individuals' powers and undergoes mutation to accommodate the absorbed abilities.[note 3] His powers read DNA and clone it.[DR 2]

Kevin can also absorb DNA by accident, as shown when exposure to feedback from the original Omnitrix granted him the ability to transform into the aliens unlocked in the active playlist at the time, at the cost of only being able to stay human for a short time.[29]

Kevin can use his body as a conduit for DNA, transferring it from a source to a target, as shown when Servantis used him to infuse the Rooters and Amalgam Kids with alien DNA, with the help of his technology.[23]

By absorbing their energy, Kevin can also drain an individual of their life force, as demonstrated by Aggregor.[48]

Matter Absorption[]

Kevin can absorb the matter of anything,[DM 3] with some exceptions (such as the Techadon Factory)[49] from any part of his body.[35][DM 6] He can even absorb multiple materials at once.[43] Depending on the amount of the absorbed material he has available, and how he distributes it, he can either coat his body, or part of it, in the material as armor,[20] or completely convert his body, or part of it, into a living version of the material.[33] Initially, he was supposed to create an outer shell with a small amount of material[AF Brief 1][AF Mini Bible 1] - he could use a quarter to coat a forearm arm with metal, but not his whole body. Then, once he began to form weapons and tools with the material, it became more of a transformation into the substance.[MW 1] His strength and durability in proportion to the material absorbed,[DM 7][DM 8] though he can still feel pain.[22]

Kevin can absorb the materialistic properties of living beings such as To'kustars,[36] Petrosapiens, Crystalsapiens, Rock Monsters,[DJW 12] and Evolved Vaxasaurians.[DJW 13]

Kevin can also absorb liquids,[DJW 14][DM 9] and when he does, he gains the properties of that liquid. If Kevin absorbs mud, objects will pass through him without causing physical damage. He can even absorb bubblegum and fire.[DJW 15][DJW 16][DM 10]

If Kevin absorbs an elastic material, he can "sort of" stretch.[DM 10]

Kevin can alter his body, such as by generating spikes,[50] spiked finials,[51] and crystals.[24] He learned this ability while in his third mutation.[52]

Kevin can shapeshift his hands and feet into different weapons and tools, such as battle axes,[13] sickles,[14] cleats,[53] scythes, mallets,[54] shovels,[19] keys,[55] maces (spiked[34] or non-spiked),[56] golf clubs,[49] lances,[57] oars,[58] machetes (serrated[31] or non-serrated),[59] hammers,[60] hooks[22] and blades.[61] He learned this ability while in his third mutation.[62]

Kevin can merge his hands into one.[57]

Kevin is capable of regenerating and regrowing any damaged or destroyed body parts, allowing him to grow back lost limbs.[57]

Kevin has the power to increase his own body size and mass.[63]

Kevin can extend[24] and enlarge[64] his arms.

Kevin can manipulate matter to fill in cracks or holes by releasing a liquid version of whatever material he has absorbed, as shown when he repaired the rock ceiling of a mine.[14] He can also partially merge with the actual matter and manipulate the substance's form, as shown when he fused the seal of P'Andor's suit, morphed it around P'Andor, and fused the arms together as makeshift handcuffs.[14]

Kevin has the ability to spontaneously create more of a given material by absorbing it. This allows him to create an endless supply, as shown when he was forced to mine Hedorium.[65] By generating matter, Kevin can also create objects, as shown when he created a helmet to protect Sir George from Dagon's mind control.[66]

Kevin can transfer the matter he has absorbed to another individual, as shown when he transferred his metal coating to Gwen to release her from Dagon's mind control.[66]

Kevin can also encase others in matter without shedding his own coating, as he demonstrated when he coated a truck driver in asphalt.[43] He can also cover others partially instead of completely. He once used the metal he absorbed to fashion a helmet for Gwen to prevent the Lucubra from controlling her.[67]

Rubber Form[]

Kevin's body becomes highly elastic when absorbing rubber. He is able to bounce wall from wall, making his movements highly unpredictable, especially in a close quarter fight.[68]

When his rubber coating is burned, a strong stench capable of incapacitating Incurseans is produced.[68]

Varsidium Form[]

When struck, Kevin can amplify sonic vibrations. This was shown when Gwen hit him with manna to amplify Echo Echo's sonic screams, incapacitating the DNAliens in the process.[69]

Carbon Rod Form[]

As the carbon rods are made of a silver-indium-cadmium alloy,[script 2] Kevin is provided with immunity to radiation. Furthermore, he is able to regulate the radiation produced by beings such as P'Andor, by absorbing excess neutrons.[14]

Metal Form[]

Kevin is resistant to high pressures in oceans, such as those on Piscciss.[35]

Stone Form[]

Kevin is resistant to cold temperatures, such as those on Mikd'lty.[70]

Iron Form[]

Kevin is immune to the Lucubra's mind control.[67]

Concrete Form[]

Kevin is resistant to strong winds.[20]

Mutations[]

Kevin has undergone several mutations as a result of absorbing or being exposed to feedback from the original Omnitrix, Ultimatrix or new Omnitrix, or absorbing alien DNA, namely:

Other Skills and Abilities[]

Even without using his matter absorption powers, Kevin is stronger than an average human.[DM 8] For example, he was able to slow down Pallorfang by holding its mouth open by its teeth.[50]

Kevin is durable enough to resist impacts and blunt force trauma that would severely injure an ordinary person with moderate discomfort. For example, he can survive being thrown through a metal wall from afar.[18]

Kevin can jump high in the air.[21]

Kevin is highly acrobatic, as shown when he executed a forward handspring to grab a piece of debris.[53]

Kevin has enhanced reflexes, allowing him to evade attacks quickly.[21]

Kevin is a fairly proficient fighter. He doesn't employ a specific martial art in combat, but rather a loose street fighting style, focusing heavily on offense. He occasionally uses objects from his surroundings to aid him in battle, either in close or ranged combat.[49][71][23]

Kevin has shown himself to be quite a proficient gunman, as he demonstrated with a Chilling Gun[72] and a Plumber blaster.[66]

Kevin is proficient at driving, being able to drift and pivot in a vehicle as unorthodox as a three-wheeled buggy, even on sloped and unstable terrain.[73] He is also skilled at drag racing.[74]

Kevin has impressive piloting skills, as shown when he pulled off a maneuver to escape a black hole in a Tachyon 930.[52] He is considered to be a better pilot than Ben.[DM 11]

Kevin is excellent at mechanics and engineering. He makes frequent repairs and enhancements to his car and the Rustbucket 3, outfitting them with various pieces of alien technology. For example, with Rook's help, he was able to make his new car impervious to everything except magic.[34] On top of that, he built the Mark 10, a car that he reluctantly gave to Ben as his 16th birthday present.[3] He also made alterations to Ben, Gwen and his own Plumber suits to give them a combative edge while underwater by installing a propulsion unit and neuroshock pulsers,[35] and was able to modify and completely rework a Plumber blaster in a very short amount of time.[66]

Kevin possesses a vast scientific and technological knowledge of alien paraphernalia, being able to identify different pieces of technology at first glance, as he demonstrated on the components of the Proto-TRUK.[33]

Kevin has great analytical and deductive skills, having been able to determine and find out specifically what happened in a battle between Aggregor and the Plumbers several hours after the battle, greatly impressing Ben and Gwen, and even gaining a compliment from Max that he could either be an expert police officer or a wanted criminal.[46]

Kevin is very smart, but his formal education has been erratic, if not entirely lacking.[75] He knows a lot about some subjects, and absolutely nothing about others.[DM 12] Kevin's strongest intelligence is his street smarts: he is very wise and knowledgeable in the ways of the world, both on Earth and in other parts of the galaxy.[AF Mini Bible 1][AF VG 1] He is also familiar with galactic court procedure on Coda Coda; and can at least read one alien language.[39]

Equipment[]

Kevin owns a Plumber Snake, which Ben used to travel to the Null Void while tethering himself to Earth. However, it was damaged when Ben traveled too far away from the portal.[76]

Kevin owned a green and black muscle car, which was damaged in Upgrade's battle with Otto.[22] He has since used parts from it to build a new car.[23][DJW 17]

Lu lent the team his shuttle to allow them to return from the Moon to Earth,[77] which Kevin stored in his garage.[39] It is unknown if the shuttle was ever returned to Lu.

Kevin owns a Retrieval Beacon Generator.[78]

During the team's mission to deliver the Prince of Lewoda to King Jarret, they were given a Tachyon 930 by Zaw-Veenull.[52] It is unknown if the ship was returned.

Kevin has a Plumber suit, allowing him to survive in unsuitable environments. He modified it by installing a propulsion unit and neuroshock pulsers.[35]

Kevin owns a Chilling Gun.[72]

Kevin was given a Taydenite car by Gar Red Wind. He chips little pieces of it for when he needs some money.[34][DJW 18]

Kevin has a Null Void Projector.[24]

While working for the Rooters, Kevin wielded a blaster.[31]

Kevin owned a Plumber Badge, which formerly belonged to Magister Labrid.[42] His badge has since been reassigned to Molly Gunther.[23]

Kevin formerly kept a Universal Translator in the trunk of his original car, which the team gave to the Dragon to help them understand him and vice versa.[79]

Kevin formerly wielded a DNA Repair Gun, which he used to revert the DNAliens back to human.[25] Simian later sold it to the Incurseans.[56]

Kevin built a machine capable of hacking the original Omnitrix[80] and Ultimatrix. It was destroyed after an explosion in his garage.[5]

While stuck in his third mutation, Kevin used an ID Mask to look like his human form.[11] He lost the ID Mask when Ben disguised it as the Ultimatrix symbol and placed it onto Vulkanus' back so that the Techadon Robots would attack him instead of Ben.[49]

Gwen once lent Kevin a protection charm. It can protect the user only if they correctly recite the incantation on it, as Gwen stated that she would never see Kevin again if he mispronounced the incantation. It was last seen when Kevin dropped it on the ground, so it is unknown if Gwen ever got it back.[75]

Kevin temporarily wielded a Plumber blaster during the war between the Esoterica and Forever Knights, which he later modified.[66]

Weaknesses[]

Any energy, DNA or powers Kevin absorbs will dissipate over time or through excessive use, so he is required to recharge.[26] However, for unknown reasons, when Kevin absorbed energy from Servantis' Loyalty Neuro-Matrix, he was able to store it for a long time.[23]

Whenever Kevin absorbs the DNA of other lifeforms, he only gains 1/10th of their abilities.[note 4]

Absorbing energy, DNA or powers causes Kevin to become insane.[46][DM 13] An exception to this is when he absorbed DNA from the new Omnitrix,[31] as he was able to retain his sanity in his mutated form (albeit faking insanity to Ben) due to having absorbed energy from Servantis' Loyalty Neuro-Matrix.[23] Being drained of the energy, DNA or powers he has absorbed will restore his sanity, at the cost of making him exhausted.[31]

Depending on his self-control, emotional and mental state and how much energy/DNA/power was absorbed, Kevin may not be able to permanently revert from his amalgamated mutations. Initially, he could not permanently revert from his Kevin 11 mutation,[DM 14] but eventually did so with Kwarrel's help,[30] and was later able to use what he had learned to revert from his Omniverse flashback and present-day mutations.[31] However, he could not revert from his Ultimate Kevin mutation as, compared to the other three mutations, he had absorbed more DNA samples[DM 15] and, as a result, had become more insane.[15]

Initially, Kevin could not absorb enough matter from small objects to completely coat himself, and needed a sample approximate to him in size.[82][DM 16] However, he no longer has this problem as of Omniverse, and can coat his entire body with just small shard of material.[51][24]

Kevin is unable to use his matter absorption powers while wearing a spacesuit[77] or Plumber suit,[70][35] giving him a major disadvantage in combat.

In his metal form, Kevin is vulnerable to electricity.[35]

In his metal form, Kevin can be magnetized. However, he can use this to his advantage, as shown when Lodestar launched him at the Mech Dragon[57] on one occasion and Zombozo on another.[83]

In his wood form, Kevin is vulnerable to fire.[24]

Kevin can be forced to absorb matter by coming into contact with an Absorption Band.[2]

Most of Kevin's powers can be neutralized by Energy Cuffs[84] or a power dampening headband.[85]

Kevin can be immobilized by ice, as shown when he was frozen by the DNAlien Freeze Guns.[6]

Kevin can be rendered unconscious by sedative quills, such as those generated from Argit's species.[2][37]

Kevin is vulnerable to snake venom.[80]

Kevin is afraid of alligators.[62]

Kevin can be trapped in crystals by Petrosapiens[9] and Addwaitya's manna crystallizing attacks.[50]

Rook and Kevin

Rook and Kevin share an interest in automobiles. They have visited auto shows together[22] and worked on Kevin's new car.[34]

After Kevin witnessed the Proto-TRUK in action and examined it, he told Ben that Rook is the coolest guy Ben has met who isn't Kevin himself.[33]

Kevin and Rook also tend to engage in playful banter.[22]

Although they get along for the most part, Kevin has expressed annoyance at Rook's politeness[73] and adherence to Plumber protocol.[22]

Charmcaster[]

ICW (176)

Charmcaster kissing Kevin

In In Charm's Way, Charmcaster used a spell that transformed her into a blonde teenage girl named Caroline as part of her plan to charm and hypnotize Kevin. She and Kevin journeyed to the beach where she revealed a partially false life story while removing the ID Mask that concealed Kevin's mutant form, clearly growing jealous of Gwen when Kevin mentioned "You think you can do magic? She's made of magic". She then kissed him, putting him under her hypnotic influence through a spell, and then ordered him to bring Gwen to the planetarium before midnight where she could drain Gwen's magical and Anodite powers. To fortify or deepen her hypnotic control over Kevin, she also granted him a magic amulet. Kevin was broken free from Charmcaster's influence spell after the amulet was broken by Ben.

Kevin thinks Charmcaster is hot and was attracted to her while in disguise. However, she never liked him and was just taunting him.[DM 17]

After this incident, Kevin and Charmcaster were mostly enemies, with Kevin disliking Charmcaster until he learned just how similar they are. He initially attempted to brush this empathy off, but when Gwen trapped Charmcaster in her own bag and kept her under the goal of becoming friends with her, Kevin seemed relieved, knowing firsthand how Gwen can help change a person.[61]

Jennifer Nocturne is a teenage actress Kevin admired, not just liking her skills but also herself. He introduced himself just before she took Ben to the party, but she paid little attention saying, "Oh of course you are". Later, when Jennifer was kidnapped and saved by Kevin and Gwen, Nocturne asked Kevin out. When Gwen heard this, she became jealous of her and said angrily "I will peel you like a grape!".[10]

Etymology[]

Kevin's last name is derived from "Eleven" while also having the spelling altered so that his first and last name are eye rhymes as well as phonetic rhymes. This lines up with his age in the Original Series and is similar to Ben's first and last names which, when shortened, also contains a number that rhymes with his first name.

Trivia[]

Notes[]

  1. In Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, Kevin was established as being the son of Max's Plumber partner Devin Levin.[4] However, in Omniverse, Max's partnership with Devin is revealed to have been a series of fake memories that Servantis had implanted in his head as a means of watching over Kevin.[23] Also, Devin never existed altogether.[DJW 2][DJW 3][BTP 1]
  2. In his earliest appearances, Kevin was presented as having absorption powers, without being specified as a mutant.[DR 1] However, according to Derrick J. Wyatt, the creators intended for Kevin to be a mutant human,[DJW 8] with this detail persisting in merchandise released during the Original Series.[Bandai 2] Pop-up trivia and merchandise released during the first season of Alien Force referred to him as a human.[pop-up 1][26][pop-up 2][27][Bandai 1][AF VG 1] In Alien Force proper, Kevin was revealed to be a human/alien hybrid.[4] Kevin's backstory was changed in Omniverse to make things more in line with the concept of him being a mutant[DJW 9] and so not everything was derived from aliens.[DJW 10][BTP 1]
  3. In the Original Series, absorbing energy from the Omnitrix granted Kevin the ability to transform into the aliens who were unlocked in the active playlist at the time. Furthermore, he only mutated into Kevin 11 after losing control of his rage.[29] However, as of Ultimate Alien, absorbing energy from the Omnitrix or Ultimatrix causes Kevin to immediately mutate into an amalgamated form.[15][BTP 1]
  4. Initially, an Osmosian's absorption ratio was more proportional, as shown with Pyronite Kevin and Tetramand Kevin, which possessed a greater balance between aspects of their regular form and the alien forms that made up the mutations.[26] However, Kevin's Framed Mutation showed the ability to fully transform into the alien forms.[29] Meanwhile, the Kevin 11 mutation possessed 1/10th the power of the Omnitrix transformations.[81]. Subsequently, it is established in Ultimate Alien that Osmosians gain the fixed amount of 1/10th of a lifeform's abilities, regardless of the circumstances.[48][BTP 1]
