Hector, also known as Francisco Cortez, is a character in Don't Drink the Water.
Appearance[]
Hector is a man with fair skin and brown eyes. His hair is black, being tied into a ponytail, and he has a goatee. He wears a green shirt, black jeans, and yellow sneakers.
History[]
Ben 10[]
Based on the inscriptions shown at the beginning of Don't Drink the Water, Hector was born in the year 1506. He was chosen to guard the Fountain of Youth by Juan Ponce de León over 400 years ago, being kept young by its mystical water. Unfortunately, Hex was able to force him to reveal its location. He had led a lonely life because if he became attached to anyone they would grow old while he did not, and warned a then-10 year-old Max Tennyson (rejuvenated by the Fountain of Youth) not to long for his kind of life. When the fountain was destroyed by Ben as Heatblast, Hector revealed that the effects of its water would gradually reverse themselves after a while. Liberated from his mission of protecting the Fountain, he was able to live a normal life again.

Trivia[]
- His role is similar to the Grail Knight in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as he guards a mystical water object and remains young by consuming it. The object is the Fountain of Youth in Hector's case and in the Knight's case the Holy Grail.
