Hi. This is Thesecret1070. I am an admin of this site. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing... If you are going to edit a lot, then make yourself a user and login. Other than that, enjoy Villains Wiki!!!
An unidentified Romulan female served as Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire in an alternate timeline 2266. She was portrayed by actress Carolyn Scott.
This particular Romulan female was of northern descent, and as a result had the forehead ridges that were characteristic of northerners.
In an alternate timeline where FederationStarfleet Captain Christopher Pike avoided the accident that had crippled him in the prime reality, this particular Praetor came to power by 2266. Much like the prime reality praetor, she ordered the Romulan military to undertake a mission in to Federation space to probe the Federation's defenses and see if the time was right to go to war with the Federation.
A single bird-of-prey was sent into Federation space under the command of a veteran officer. The ship managed to destroy several Earth outposts before being confronted by the USS Enterprise, which in this timeline was still under Pike's command, and the USS Farragut under the command of one Captain James T. Kirk. Pike managed to arrange a cease-fire with the Romulan Commander, who did not want to see the Empire fight another war.
Intercepting the message an ambitious subordinate had sent her, the Praetor led a fleet of Romulan ships into Federation space. She first had her ships destroy the bird-of-prey behind the initial incursion and kill the Commander, feeling that he had shown weakness to the enemy. The Praetor then attacked and severely damaged the Enterprise. While the Enterprise was able to escape, one of the casaulties was the Vulcan science officer Spock.
The Praetor would go on to declare war on the Federation, a war that would last decades and lead to the deaths of millions on both sides. With Spock gone, one of the best chances of peace not only between the Romulans and the Federation, but between the Klingons and the Federation as well was gone. Realizing the disastarous consequences avoiding his fate would have for the galaxy, Pike convinced the Klingon monks on Boreth to give him a time crystal, which he used to transport the younger prime reality version of himself into the alternate timeline, and was able to convince Pike not to warn others about the accident that was in the future.
Trivia[]
It is not certain if this individual is the same person who was praetor in the prime reality. In the TOS episode Balance of Terror the Romulan characters referred to the praetor with male pronouns, while in SNW the Praetor was presented as a female.
