J'Vini was a villainous female Romulan on the Star Trek: Discovery fourth season episode Choose to Live. She was portrayed by Ayesha Mansur Gonsalves.

A member of the Qowat Milat, J'Vini was an alien warrior nun. She had helped nurse Michael Burnham's mother Gabrielle back to health after the later first arrived in the 32nd century.

Several years prior to 3190 she had disappeared and her superiors in the Qowat Milat were unable to reach her. It had turned out she had picked up a telepathic distress call from the Abronian Taglonen. The Abronians were being attacked by grave robbers, who were extracting latinum from the Abronians as they traveled in cryo-sleep to their new world after the destruction of their old world. After slaying the grave robbers, J'Vini swore to be qalankhkai, or free blade, to the Abronians and protect them until they arrived at their new homeworld and woke up.

When the Abronians arrived at their new world, J'Vini needed dilithium to provide the power to wake the Abronians. Unable to convince the Federation to provide the crystals without telling them why she needed the dilithium in the first place, she turned to stealing it from Starfleet vessels. After three previous robberies Starfleet installed tracking devices on dilithium. When J'Vini tried to steal dilithium from the USS Credence, first officer Commander Patrick Fickett tried to stop her, and she killed him.

Using data from the tracking device and Credence security records, Starfleet was able to identify J'Vini. Michael and Gabrielle along with Sylvia Tilly went on a joint mission to hunt down J'Vini and bring her to justice. Upon tracking her down, Tilly and the Burnhams learned why J'Vini had done what she did and helped her complete her mission.

Once the mission was completed J'Vini and the others watched as the Abronians woked up and took possession of their new world. J'Vini allowed herself to be taken into custody. In order to foster good relations with Ni'Var (the renamed Vulcan) and speed their return to the Federation, the Federation turned J'Vini over to Ni'Var's custody even though Captain Burnham and Admiral Vance felt she should face Federation justice for her crimes. Ni'Var sent J'Vini to the monastic world of Pijar to undergo deep rehabilitative meditation under Gabrielle's guidance. Ni'Var's President T'Rina also promised when that was done J'Vini would make reparations to Fickett's partner and children.
