Heavy Lobster (theme)

"Heavy Lobster" is a musical track that debuted in Kirby Super Star Ultra, playing during the battles against the boss with the same name. It has reappeared in a few notable Kirby titles since its debut.

Composition[edit]

"Heavy Lobster" is an energetic and dramatic piece in the key of A minor, 4/4. It is characterized by a heavily electronic soundfont and an everlasting ostinato in the higher registers, syncopated every other beat, with harmonic changes in the rapid bassline. Additionally, there is a faint brass instrument that plays a minor, nostalgic excerpt of "Green Greens" in the middle section of the the track.

Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]

This track can be heard in the fifth chapter of Revenge of Meta Knight, specifically during the Heavy Lobster chase and battle, as well as during the Heavy Lobster battles on Mekkai, in The Arena and in Helper to Hero. It also appears in the Sound Test as track 51.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]

A remix of this track titled "Climactic Clash! Robo Dedede" can be heard during the final phase of the Robo Dedede mission of the Scope Shot Sub-Game in the original Kirby's Return to Dream Land. In its remake Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, this theme instead plays in the final crusher area of the fifth stage of Egg Engines.

In Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, it gets paired with "Shooting" for a remix titled "Kabula Limit" in the Booming Blasters Sub-Game, with a chiptune variant called "Kabula Limit (Secret Song)" unlocked after clearing all the missions associated with the Sub-Game.

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition[edit]

In Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition, the "Climactic Clash! Robo Dedede" remix plays during the final 30 seconds in the Fighter Combat Chamber, Smash Combat Chamber, and Smash Combat Chamber EX of the New Challenge Stages.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse[edit]

In Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, a rearrangement of the original "Heavy Lobster" with the same name can be unlocked and played as track number 30 in the Music Room after collecting a treasure chest in the Volcanic Panic stage. It features a new intro section that lasts for about 15 seconds before switching to the main melody.

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

In Kirby Star Allies, the original version of "Heavy Lobster" is reused as the rest area track before the Parallel Meta Knight fight on the Soul Melter EX difficulty in The Ultimate Choice. It can be found in the Jukebox as track 209.
