~ Rice's final lines |
Meredith Rice is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season five finale "Head". Rice is a school principal and the sexual abuser of her students, as a consequence of a brain tumor making her mind sick.
She's portrayed by Stacy Edwards.
Biography[]
Rice dedicated herself to children's lives in academia, and she was also a loving wife and stepmother. At some point, when she developed her tumor, it coincided with her sublimated rape trauma from her grandfather. She became an impulsive pedophile from the tumor, resulting in her inappropriate contact and molestation of several students in her school. She fixated most on Shane Madden, a troubled child she wanted to counsel, but she instead began raping him, which traumatized and confused Shane. When one rape was caught on camera by a bathroom voyeur and he showed it to the police, Shane and Rice were eventually tracked. Shane was uncooperative, and eventually, Rice kidnapped Shane and sexually abused him again, but she started to vomit from the tumor. Rice was arrested, and after she lunged at Detective Elliot Stabler to kiss and grope his crotch, he threw her into a wall.
Rice had a seizure and was taken to the hospital, where the tumor was found. It was removed and tests revealed Rice had no more urges to sexually abuse boys. She also revealed being raped by her grandfather, which implied her vulnerable psyche the tumor worsened. When other students reported Rice, with her accepting she was a danger to children, she agreed to register as a sex offender and never return to jobs with children in exchange for probation. Rice's stepson Jason was furious enough he hit Shane and threatened his life. But it all peaked once Rice arrived at Shane's home to reveal to him she was pregnant, with his child. As she violated her parole, she was arrested. Rice lamented it took the destruction of her life to have a child to call hers.
Trivia[]
