Elia Kane is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Doctor Pershing) of the 2019 Disney+ Star Wars streaming series The Mandalorian.
She is portrayed by Katy O'Brian.
Biography[]
Before The Series[]
Elia Kane's past is largely unknown, aside from the fact she was apparently forced into the Empire, yet appeared to be fiercely loyal to the government, remaining faithful following its disintegration.
Season 2[]
Elia Kane appears frequently as Moff Gideon's right-hand woman, always stoic and doing her job well. She usually joined Gideon in his activities, like checking on the Dark Troopers and taunting Grogu. She was there as well when Gideon was arrested by Cara Dune, and the Dark Troopers were destroyed by Luke Skywalker, forcing her into the Amnesty Program.
Season 3[]
Elia adjusts to the Amnesty Program, waiting for her chance to continue Gideon's work. During this, she hears that Doctor Penn Pershing will be joining her in the program, the man who knows exactly what she'd need to continue her master's plans, so she fabricates a friendship with him, helping him adjust to his strange new life, as well as encourage his passions.
This reaches the point where Pershing agrees to illegally continue his research, which would of course require him stealing the exact equipment needed from a wrecked Star Destroyer. The two go out to steal a mobile lab station and succeed, only for Kane to betray Pershing, taking the lab station for herself, and sending Pershing into a Mind Flayer. When left alone, she turns it to maximum power, presumably wiping Pershing's mind entirely.
New Republic pilot, Carson Teva, visits Coruscant to try to convince Republic high command to assist against Gorian Shard’s invasion of Nevarro, which was secretly coordinated by Gideon. Kane enters the room to eavesdrop and suggests that perhaps Nevarro should be left to deal with it on their own to teach them why joining the New Republic is valuable. Teva, now suspicious of Kane, tells her that she thinks like an Imperial.
Kane later contacts Gideon and informs him of Shard’s death, as well as the fact that the Nite Owls have united with the Children of the Watch.
