Nuka is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Vitani) of Disney's 1998 animated film The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, the sequel to Disney's 32nd full-length animated feature film The Lion King, and a guest antagonist in its 2016-2019 midquel television series The Lion Guard. He is the eldest son of Zira, the older brother of Vitani and Kovu, and the brother-in-law of Kiara.

He was voiced by Andy Dick.

He hated his younger brother, Kovu, for being Scar's hand-chosen heir.
He almost bullied Kovu during "My Lullaby" before Vitani stopped him.
Under Zira's orders, he and Vitani set the grass plains of the Pride Lands on fire during Kiara's first hunt so that Kovu would rescue her, which was part of Zira's plan to have Kovu kill Simba and take over the Pride Lands to avenge Scar's death. Had it not been for Kovu, this could have resulted in Kiara's death.
When he and the rest of the Outsiders ambush Simba and Simba tries to escape via a dam, Nuka attacks him, only to fall and get crushed to death.
Much like Zira he never redeems himself.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

His worst act is attempting to kill Simba, which amounts to "Kill The Heroes" villainy, making him bog-standard.
He fails the heinous standards to Scar, who killed Mufasa and took over the Pride Lands, and Zira, who attempted to overthrow and kill Simba to avenge Scar's death. (Both of whom had relatively similar resources).
While he does hate Kovu for being Scar's hand-chosen heir, he at least never tries to kill him.
He does care for Zira, as he is often attempting to prove to her why he thinks he should have been Scar's heir instead of Kovu.
He can be considered a scapegoat, as Zira is often really abusive to him for no apparent reason.
He is constantly played for laughs throughout the film and is thus not taken seriously.
His death is played for sympathy as Zira, Kovu, and Vitani all show sadness over it.
In The Lion Guard, he does appear to get along well with Kovu, as he is much more caring towards him, manages to work well with him, and does not insult him.
He is rather tragic as he was neglected by his mother and only wanted her approval
