The Monkey is a major antagonist in Pixar's 11th full-length animated feature film Toy Story 3.
He is a cymbal-banging Musical Jolly Chimp Monkey Toy at Sunnyside Daycare who assists Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear on monitoring the daycare to prevent any toys who defy him from escaping. He has not spoken, but he does make monkey noises. He has two cymbals he can bang together.
His muffling sound effects were provided by the film's director Lee Unkrich.
Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- Unlike all the other members of Lotso's gang (Including Losto), who were abandoned by their owners, the Monkey didn't suffer from that, making him the most evil minion of the gang.
- If a toy were to attempt to escape Sunnyside Daycare, Monkey would alert the P.A. and scream loudly.
- After Mr. Potato Head failed to escape, it refused to look at the cameras again for a while.
- When Woody and Slinky enter Monkey's office, it attempted to tell Losto, not really caring if Losto was sleeping.
- It repeatability banged it's cymbals on Woody.
- Unlike all the other members, who were shocked when Losto got mad at Big Baby, Monkey wasn't around the place and probably would have called both Losto and Big Baby intruders based on it's personality.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- The Monkey lacks dialogue, making it insufficiently characterized.
- It does redeem itself. This is a minor redeeming quality as the redemption was done off screen making it unknown why the monkey decided to redeem.
- Despite lacking standards and a tragedy, it still fails the heinous standards to Sid, who had tortured several toys, he even fails the Heinous Standards to Lotso (a Pure Evil villain) who have done it Worse.
Trivia[]
- Despite being a Villainous Benchmark, Monkey can be considered the second most evil member of Lotso's gang (After Lotso himself) due to not suffering from a tragedy and banging its cymbals on Woody.
