Chapter 303

This all happened because of you!

- Isen lets Kuyo have it

This is the 303rd episode of unORDINARY.

Synopsis[]

It takes Fury no time at all to dominate the situation. Nobody is downed and bleeding heavily from his torso, but that doesn't dissuade his attacker from stomping on him. Isen is also wounded bad enough that he can't put up a fight. Fury condescendingly remarks how impressive it is that they've managed to avoid the worst of her strikes. Despite the terror of seeing his Blyke getting one-shotted so easily, Isen demands she release him. Fury dares him to force her. Isen wants to flee so badly, but cannot bring himself to leave his buddy for dead. He roars as he musters his strength and tries punching the ground to knock her off balance. But she recovers faster than he can get extract Blyke. She has a burning grip on him, and tells him he tried his best.

X-Rei calls out to her screaming friends on the roof, only to behold Fury with her terrible claws at Isen's throat. Ponytail is quick to react, and conjures another sword. With the captive Byron facing the business end of the blade, negotiations are now open. Now that he had Fury's attention, Ponytail orders the release of Nobody and Isen. With the advantage of having a hostage who was valued for his experience, the choice seems obvious. But Fury demands that the phone used to record incriminating evidence be destroyed before anything. Ponytail isn't about to cave in, but Fury threatens to lose her cool. X-Rei is sufficiently cowed into complying, and she snatched Ponytail's phone out of his hand, threw it to the ground, and hit it with a strong electric jolt for good measure. She then turns to Fury and tells her that she owes her for her actions. Fury pays up...by tossing both teenagers off of the rooftop.

X-Rei rushes into action, desperate to keep her friends from hitting the ground. Isen has just enough strength to save himself, and grabs the edge of a window. While X-Rei is preoccupied with saving Nobody, Ponytail is alerted to Fury's descent. Knowing what comes next, he plunges his sword into Byron's abdomen before leaping into action himself.

X-Rei catches her friend, but is unable to defend herself from Fury's next attack as a result. With an enormous wound across her torso, she goes limp. Fury goes in to finish her off, but Ponytail stops her at the last minute. Driven back by several sword slashes, Fury grumbles at how irritating he is. She hears the coughs of the wounded Byron. Ponytail assures her they are the sounds of a dying man, unless she gets him immediate medical attention. He suggests she see to that after he and his charges leave to get treatment of their own. While they attempt to reach an agreement, Isen drops in and stares in shock at his bloodied friends. Being told that sufficient distance would make the swords vanish only prompts Fury to say that the conjurer’s death would also do the trick. Ponytail tells her that by the time she kills him, it’ll be too late for her partner. In frustration, she tells them to clear out.

In another alley, Isen frets as his friends’ breathing grows fainter by the minute. His first instinct is to get them to the hospital. Kuyo forbids this, as the Authorities were sure to be combing every hospital in search of the interlopers that dealt them this considerable blow. Isen is against letting them bleed out. He adds that such risk was almost behind them. But Kuyo just had to pop into their lives and bring them back into this war zone. Kuyo tells him to hold off on the blame until he comes up with a solution. Isen chafes at such lackluster leadership, and starts to go off to find some real help. And that’s when a ray of hope comes to Kuyo’s mind: a discussion regarding a chemistry wizard. Despite not trusting Kayden, there’s no better chance for these kids as far as Kuyo can see. He stops Isen and tells him to hand over his phone.

Kayden is in the middle of a late-night study session when he gets a call. His phone doesn’t recognize the number, but he answers anyway. He’s startled to hear Kuyo pleading for his help.
