This is the twenty-sixth story arc of unORDINARY and the ninth arc of Season 2. It began with Chapter 235 and ended with Chapter 244. It marks the mid-season premiere of Season 2.
Summary[]
Normalcy has returned...or has it? Secrets and plots mire the lives of those who made pyrrhic deals. Whether or not newfound initiative will be able to overcome mysterious forces is yet to be seen...
Seraphina is asked by some executives from Spectre to perform a mission. Later, John is adjusting to his return to Wellston and meets Zeke, then Seraphina. Finally, John visits Headmaster Vaughn and tells him he's giving up his title of King.
Seraphina privately brings up the feasibility of changing the location of the trip with Remi, afraid that Spectre will be up to no good, but Remi can't help her. Seraphina, Arlo and Remi are summoned to Vaughn's office, and are tasked with appointing John's successor. The high-tiers choose Blyke as the new King. Seraphina has a private word with Arlo, where she requests him to join in on the trip to Rowden as extra protection against Spectre.
When a suspicious John asks Arlo about his private discussions with Seraphina, he's told to find out for himself. His efforts yield no fruit. Meanwhile, Blyke returns from his suspension and is formally crowned the King of Wellston, with much fanfare. He and his friends face their first challenge of his reign when John expresses strange interest in joining their field trip.
Isen becomes the new Jack after failing to convince Cecile to fill the void. But even his misery doesn't compare to Seraphina's, who wonders how many people also work for Spectre because the miraculous ability-recovery is only temporary. A patrol with John takes some of the edge off, at least until he detects the aura of someone that his eyes can't see.
John pursues the invisible stalker throughout the school, but the aura fades…right outside of Safe House. John puts together that Sera is the one in trouble and thinks it's his fault she doesn't confide in him. With his options limited, he asks Blyke on advice to approach the Safe House.
Blyke refuses and slams the door in John's face. John comes in the safe house, Remi allows him as long as he isn't hostile and everyone else is scared. Sera pulls John out and they talk.
John realizes Terrence is the invisible kid. Sera tells Arlo about the possible targets. Arlo goes on protective big brother mode after hearing Remi's name. John asks Arlo about Terrence and then they argue a bit. Arlo reveals that Sera in fact didn't get her ability back. Sera uses her ability on him before he can say anything more.
Blyke gets mad cause John snapped a pencil. Arlo sees how committed John is to helping. John saves two students from Zeke without getting violent. John follows Sera wearing one of the best disguises, a U-Mart cap.
John follows Sera and sees her with Kayden. He realizes that her aura is weaker and that Arlo wasn't lying. Evie invites John to play cards with them. John purposefully gives up and made the kid he saved yesterday win, so that he can get along with everyone. Remi wonders if John has a chance after all to win the vote deciding if he can come or not for the trip.
During the vote, only Evie, Dylan, and Arlo voted for John to join the trip. When Remi tells this to John, He is surprised to know that Arlo voted for him and wonders how much trouble Sera is in. On the day of the trip, John looks up the shortest way to Rowden.
