Andrei Sator (Russian: Андрей Сатор) is the main antagonist of the 2020 science fiction action film Tenet.
He was a Russian oligarch used by future generations to help reassemble the Algorithm, a weapon created in the future to reverse the entropy of the entire world, in the hopes of reversing the effects of climate change.
He was portrayed by Kenneth Branagh, who also portrayed Iago in the 1995 film adaptation of Othello, Dr. Arliss Loveless in Wild Wild West, and King Richard III in the 2002 production play of The Tower of London at The Crucible Theatre.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- After he found out he was dying from cancer, he attempted to destroy the past and present and everyone in it.
- Paid corrupt cops and fake terrorists to kill a large crowd of innocent audience members at an opera house in order to cover up his attempt to acquire the final piece of The Algorithm.
- He blackmailed his own wife into staying married to him and keeping her away from their son because she accidentally sold him a forged painting.
- Psychologically and physically abused his own wife several times in the film.
- He brutally attacked, tortured, and attempted to kill The Protagonist personally and through his men multiple times throughout the movie.
- Shot his own wife with an inverted round to psychologically break the Protagonist and further his own goals.
- Beat one of his own men to death with a bar of gold.

- Andrei is the third Pure Evil to come from a Christopher Nolan movie, the first two being the Nolanverse characters Joker and Scarecrow.
