What Makes It Pure Evil?[]
- Once it's reawakened, it destroys an entire village in Cairo, claiming many innocent lives in the process.
- Possessed a handicapped boy and later a hyena upon its exorcism.
- Posed as an imaginary friend named Captain Howdy after Regan played with an Ouija board.
- Possessed Regan, turning her into a hideous vessel for him to mercilessly taunt and abuse those around himself, twisted her into a demonic parody of her former self which included behaviors like vigorous masturbation with a crucifix, demanding people to have sex with her, and yelling sexual insults at people.
- Physically, sexually, and mentally tortured Regan shortly after possessing her.
- Gave Father Merrin a heart attack during the exorcism.
- Transported the soul of the Gemini Killer into Karras for revenge.
- It is revealed in the TV show that it raped Reagan when she was 12.
- After Merrin's death Karras becomes enraged and challanges Pazuzu to take him instead. The demon accepts and switches bodies.. But one of the first things it does is try to make Kerras kill Regan. In a clear display of "You Have Outlived Your Usefulness"..
- It knows about the death of Karras's mother, and openly taunts him about it.
- It attempted to commit omnicide and biocide for no explained reason.
- While it is a demon made of evil, it has clear moral agency as it is completely sadistic in everything it does.
- While the franchise relies on shock value, it clearly goes beyond the boundaries by committing horrific acts that stand out beyond other villains in the franchise.
- Overall, it has no redeeming qualities or excuses for it's actions and only does them because it enjoys doing so.
