This article is about a/an mobile game in the Power Rangers franchise. |
Power Rangers Mighty Force is an "idle battle" mobile game developed by Vancouver, British Columbia-based East Side Games and Mighty Kingdom under license from Hasbro. Set in the original continuity, players engage in RPG-style simulation combat as Power Ranger teams of their choosing while following an original story featuring Rita Repulsa and her evil minions. It was soft-launched for Android in select regions March 20, 2024. It was released to the public August 5, 2024.
Story[]
Since the early 1990s, the city of Angel Grove has been defended by the formidable fighting force known as the Power Rangers, stymieing the nefarious Rita Repulsa at every opportunity. The sorceress grows ever more frustrated with each defeat, and so has concocted another dastardly plot with her minions to shatter the Morphin Grid and, in so doing, to subdue her nemeses once and for all that she may at last conquer Earth. Her strategy works, forcing the five back to the Power Chamber to regroup. Zordon and Alpha 5 soon discover that a substance known as Morph-X can restore the Grid and thus the Rangers' fighting strength. Grid Battleforce's Zoey Reeves is brought from across the Grid to assist the team in processing Morph-X. With aid from allies old and new, the Rangers must repair the Grid and once again put the kibosh on Rita's schemes.
Gameplay[]
Players must collect Morph-X and perform various micro-tasks in order to rebuild and defend Angel Grove as it exists within the fractured Morphin Grid to fight monsters and advance the story per chapter. Rangers acquired via mission rewards or story progression can be deployed against their designated monsters or in battle missions to collect Morph-X, Power Coins, and more. Each task completed awards a randomized gacha crate stuffed with loot.
Though monster encounters on the field do not change within a chapter, Ranger units can be freely deployed in RPG-style combat and are encouraged to use the resources provided to strengthen individual units and their paired weapons for further battles, and to improve Morph-X collection over time.
In addition to free resource shops, players can buy packages of Zeo Crystals to spend on the resources they need, which are also somewhat randomized. These purchases are not required to fully enjoy the game.
Normal idle play is complemented by a daily event system as well as PvP battles,
