When applying ranger colors. You may consult the following guide. You can use the name to fill in the space. As such a Green Ranger may have in his infobox seagreen, teal or other colors under shadeofcolor:. Some of the most common colors are listed and explained below.

Colors Commonly Used

Red

Red is associated with the call word red. For variations see below.

Crimson

Crimson is associated with the call words darkred or maroon, as crimson calls a darker shade of pink. Crimson is typically used for higher-level or alternative red heroes. It first came into widespread use with the appearance of Hunter Bradley, called the "Crimson Ranger". It also refers to the more metallic red of Wolzard Fire/Leanbow.

Blue

Blue is associated with the call word blue, unless it's the lighter shade also commonly used and simply referred to as "blue", in the which case we use deepskyblue. The call word cyan is also available, though it is typically too harsh for web usage. For variations see below.

Navy

Navy is associated withe the call words darkblue or navy. Navy is typically used for higher-level or alternative blue heroes. It first came into widespread use with the appearance of Blake Bradley, called the "Navy Ranger", and later came into use in Sentai with Dai-kun, Kyoryu Navy.

Yellow

Yellow is associated with the call word yellow.

Green

Green is associated with the call word green, teal for the bluer shade, or limegreen for the lighter shade.

Pink

Pink is associated with the call word hotpink. Though technically a shade of red, it is typically disassociated with it, and is even more often referred to with the Japanese word for peach, "momo". Peach on the other hand is referred to in Japanese with another word. While the call word "pink" is also available, it is typically too plain for web usage, and is only used for a few Rangers with that shade.

Black

Black is associated with the call word black.

White

White is associated with the call word white.

Silver

Silver is associated with the call word silver.

Gold

Gold is associated with hex #CFB53B.

Orange

Orange is associated with the call word darkorange. However, typically, in Japan most people simply consider it a shade of yellow. Tigers, for example, are considered black and "yellow". Battle Cossack for example, is usually grouped among Yellow Rangers. It was first used as its own color by Akira Nijino, ToQ 6gou. While the call word "orange" is also available, it is typically too bright to accurately represent each suit.

Purple/Violet

While actually two different shades of the same color, mainstream use equates them both as simply a mix of red and blue. In Super Sentai, however, "violet" is the common term while in Power Rangers, it is "purple". It is commonly associated with the call word purple in wiki usage, as "violet" tend to be a pastel color close to lilac, though indigo or darkviolet may also be used depending on the shade of the Rangers in question. It was first used as a Ranger (debatable as his status may be) by Wolzard/Koragg before becoming a protagonist color associated with both male and female colors in Kyoryu Violet's two identities.

Gray

Gray is associated with the call word gray.

Brown

Brown is associated with the call word saddlebrown. While the call word "brown" is also available, it is typically too plain for web usage.

Colors on Labels

As Core Rangers have more standardized suits, only black or white against the color background is typically needed. However, for Rangers that feature a different-colored accent for their suits, a secondary color can be used instead, similar to that of the Kamen RidersIcon-crosswiki on Kamen Rider WikiIcon-crosswiki. As such, should a secondary color be needed, readability is a MUST; if the text cannot be read easily with its current color, either an alternate shade or the standard black/white must be used instead.

Notable examples include, but are not limited to...

Instead of... Use...
Purple Darkviolet
Blue #0066FF
Green #00AF33
#CFB53B Gold
Hotpink Deeppink
Yellow #C3BC0A

Gradients

As Ranger suits are typically only one color, gradients should rarely be used if at all. The only times gradients are used are for the infoboxes of Power Rangers with multiple different-colored power sets (i.e. Jason Lee Scott, Tommy Oliver, etc.) or for multi-colored Rangers (i.e. the Go-On Wings hybrid, Gokai Christmas, ToQ 1gou of the Rainbow, Zyuoh The World, Lupin Tricolor, and Patren Ugou).

Examples:

On series articles:
style="background:red; color:white"|Go-On Red
Sosuke Esumi
style="background:red; color:white"|Zyuoh Eagle
Yamato Kazakiri

With Gradient Usage
style="left; color:black"|Go-On Wings
Gai Ikari
style="left; color:white"|Zyuoh The World
Misao Mondou

HTML div tag for Infobox headers:
<div style="left; color:white">Jason Lee Scott</div>

Colors on Mecha/Zord Formations and Names

There are two different rules for Mecha/Zord system guides and icons depending on the series in question:

 • If a Mecha/Zord is directly piloted only by or typically belongs to one particular Ranger, the icon should be colored that specific Ranger's color, not the mecha/zord's paintjob.
 • If a Mecha/Zord can be piloted by any Ranger, the icon should be colored as close as possible to the Mecha/Zord's paintjob.
Legend: piloted mecha, 2-person mecha, auxiliary mecha
