- Not to be confused with the set.
Chompy is Vania's pet dragon. He is a Shintaran Ridgeback and he can enlarge.
History[]
The Skull Sorcerer[]
While Vania is pondering what to do, Chompy suggests she should relax.
Later, Chompy and Vania find Cole trapped in a spider's web. Chompy attempts to distract the giant spider, but the spider swipes at Chompy. Vania then gets upset which causes Chompy to transform into a gigantic dragon. Cole witnesses everything and tells Vania about Chompy, but she believes that Cole is joking.
Vania and Cole are able to escape the Dungeons of Shintaro and tell Wu everything. As they are talking, Chompy climbs onto Wu, and he asks who's the owner of the dragon. Vania tells Wu it's her dragon, while Chompy eats flowers.
When Vangelis reveals himself to be the Skull Sorcerer, Chompy attempts to attack him, but he immediately strikes the small dragon. Chompy is seen lying down and very weak.
The Real Fall[]
When Vania leaves to rescue Cole and Wu after they fell into the pit, Vangelis blames Chompy for Vania's fall and tells Hailmar and the Army of Shintaro to lock him up.
The Ascent[]
Chompy is kept in a cage before he is freed by Cole, and immediately bonds with Adam, riding on him. When the guards led by Hailmar attack, Chompy watches Vania and her allies fight them. As they are overwhelmed, Chompy transforms into his larger form, shocking Vania at his ability. Chompy then attacks, allowing Cole and the Upply to escape while Chompy stays behind to help Wu defend Vania from Hailmar.
The Son of Lilly[]
Vania was able to get Hailmar and the Winged Guards to ally with her, Chompy, and Wu before they storm the caves. Guided by Wu, Chompy attacked the undead Grief-Bringer and helped drive back the Awakened Warriors. Chompy was successful in defeating the beast. Once Cole had destroyed the skull, Chompy was present at the victory. After a pleading Vangelis was taken away by Hailmar, Chompy celebrated the victory.
Sometime later, Chompy, in his small form, was at the ceremony when Vania was crowned queen.
Master of the Sea[]
Chompy flew around Shintaro.

Trivia[]
- Despite being Vania's dragon in the show, the dragon belongs to Wu in the sets instead.
- However, Wu does ride Chompy in "The Son of Lilly."
- Chompy is similar to Kirara from Inuyasha, due to their abilities to transform into larger animals respectively.
- He is called the Battle Dragon in the sets because the sets and the show are developed at different times and it tends to cause some inconsistency at times.[2]
- Apparently, Vania never knew of his ability to shift forms until seeing it in "The Ascent."
- Small Chompy looks similar to Estari from the LEGO Elves theme, who is also a small dragon with white, gold, and blue coloring. Unlike Chompy, Estari physically appears in this form in a set (as part 26579).
- Chompy growing when angered was inspired by the existence of the 71718 Wu's Battle Dragon set during production.[3]
- According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, Chompy's ability to transform is a ability unique to Shintaran Ridgebacks, not based on an elemental ability.[4]
