General Joe Greller put together a strike team for General Thaddeus Ross, in order to capture Bruce Banner when Ross discovered his location in Porto Verde. Greller noted to Ross that he had also managed to obtain the services of decorated soldier Emil Blonsky, placing him under Ross' direct orders. Once the team had arrived and were ready to leave for the mission, Greller was thanked by Ross for pulling various favors to bring him this team.[2]

Coming back from Porto Verde empty handed, Thaddeus Ross faced Joe Greller to debrief him about his hunt for Bruce Banner. Not believing Ross, Greller brought in Emil Blonsky who told him the same story. Finally believing him, Greller told Ross to make a list of things he would need, however, he would need to be able to significantly justify anything on it.[1]
