  • Battle of New York:
  • As the public of Earth celebrate the Avengers' victory, Potts is named interim CEO of Stark Industries as she mourns Stark's apparent death.[2][1]
  • Stark falls through space as enters another wormhole into Sakaar.[2][1]
  • Stark crash lands in Grandmaster's palace and believes himself to be dead. He then opens the mask on his armor to see Grandmaster standing in front of him. As Grandmaster calls his new prize names, Iron Man's suit catches fire, prompting Topaz to unleash an unnecessary amount of foam onto Stark.[2][1]
  • Tony Stark meets Grandmaster

    Iron Man meets Grandmaster

As Stark realizes he is lost in space, Grandmaster figures out that Stark is the man who saved New York. He goes on to explain that time works differently on Sakaar, so they had been talking about him for days. Stark then sees on the screen that the Avengers won, making him relieved. He also sees that even though Potts had become interim CEO of Stark Industries, she is okay.[2][1]
  • Iron Man easily breaks out of the foam and asks to be sent back to Earth. Grandmaster says they will do that if he celebrates Grandmaster's twenty-first birthday. Stark just wants to go home and starts walking away, only for Topaz to use the Melt Stick on a sculpture. Seeing what the wand could do, Stark stops and asks if there will be food at the party.[2][1]
  • Sakaar Grand Prix:
    • In his own viewing room, Tony Stark watches over the Grand Arena where the Sakaar Grabd Prix is happening. Many racers, including Korg, Valkyrie, Roscoe, Tasba, and Biff line up. Grandmaster then starts the race.[2][1]
    • Tony Stark on Sakaar

Tony Stark watches the Sakaar Grand Prix

The racers immediately hit the gas as Grandmaster sings that it is his birthday. Stark watches and drinks his drink, only to find it tastes awful. Grandmaster then approaches him to talk, unable to pronounce "Earth" correctly. The two then argue about whether it is a chariot race or racecar race. They are interrupted when a driver crashes. Grandmaster complains that he barely felt the flame emitting from the vehicle.[2][1]
    • Valkyrie manages to maneuver through the wreckage while driving backwards, impressing Stark. Meanwhile, a racer's chariot engine destroys another chariot and then spits it out in bullets. It attempts to do the same to Valkyrie, who evades it by using a flipped chariot as a ramp. However, she then falls and her chariot skids across the ground, breaking. As Valkyrie crawls out of her vehicle, she is bombarded with thrown tin cans from the crowd. Stark, who is worried about the racers' safety, remarks that the race is barbaric.[2][1]
    • The crowd soon throws Chinchillas at Valkyrie as well. She catches one and trades it to a fan for the Demon Rum. Suddenly, Topaz orders the release of Grandmaster's champion, Snuffy. Korg looks up from his chariot, happy to see Snuffy. However, Korg soon runs away when he sees Snuffy going towards him. Snuffy picks up Korg with its trunk and flings him.[2][1]
    • Having seen enough, Stark uses his Colantotte Bracelets to summon his armor, only to find it is sticky. He then flies outside, but his armor barely works as he falls into the arena. As Snuffy runs towards Iron Man, the latter tries to shoot his repulsors, but they fail. Stark braces for impact when Snuffy's entrails suddenly spray onto him. He looks to see Gamora, who had killed Snuffy.[2][1]
    • What If S2 Deck the Halls (9)

      Gamora aims at Iron Man

Gamora aims her gun at Stark and Korg, who both run and take cover. Stark manages to shoot one repulsor, knocking the gun out of her hands. Gamora reaches Stark and holds Godslayer to his throat. However, she is stopped when Topaz throws an Obedience Disk at both Gamora and Stark, deeming them incapacitated.[2][1]
  • Sensing a connection between the two invaders, Grandmaster has Topaz put them in the same room, angering Gamora. Stark simply asks why Korg is there as well. Gamora suddenly jumps at Stark, who evades her and gets behind Korg, who stops Gamora. Stark then twists his Arc Reactor, disabling the disc on his neck. He then asks why Gamora was trying to kill him. Thinking Stark was asking him, Korg says he is more of a lover than a fighter.[2][1]
  • Gamora says she is the daughter of Thanos. Stark does not care and easily hacks the door to break himself out. Korg follows, so Stark traps Gamora inside and leaves. Gamora punches the door in anger, finding that it caused a crack in the glass.[2][1]
  • Korg & Tony Stark

Korg and Tony Stark face Gamora

Getting to the garage, Korg tells Stark about Grandmaster before they see guards around the ships. Despite Stark saying to wait, Korg runs at the guards and defeats them easily. The two argue on the way to a ship, only for Gamora to arrive and threaten them with the guard's gun. She shoots, but the two heroes evade, causing the bullets to hit a ship, destroying it but also blowing a hole through the wall. Stark then activates the Gamora's obedience disk to get her to stop.[2][1]
  • Grandmaster demands that his people capture Stark using a hologram system. Gamora tells Stark that Thanos would have his revenge, prompting Stark to ask what Thanos had against him. Gamora reveals that Thanos caused the Battle of New York and that his glory and victory would be short. Stark starts getting mad, saying that there was no glory or victory as people died.[2][1]
  • As an angry Stark attempts to overload the obedience disk to kill Gamora, he overhears Grandmaster's announcement to the people calling Stark a bad man. Stark stops and realizes he could be better. He asks Korg how bad Grandmaster is. Korg says he was once used as a paperweight by the Grandmaster. As Stark gets in another ship for takeoff, he tells Gamora that that he intends to save Sakaar and go after Thanos. Gamora watches Stark and Korg leave only to be tased by Topaz, who had arrived behind her.[2][1]
  • Flying through Sakaar, Stark starts his plan and knows he needs to get more allies. He approaches Valkyrie at the bar. Korg sees a Chinchilla on Valkyrie's shoulder and starts playing with it, naming it Nikos after his friend, Jeffrey. While talking to Valkyrie, Stark tries to figure her out, concluding that she races for the thrill. When Valkyrie realizes they want to overthrow Grandmaster, she starts laughing thinking it is dumb. Stark when asks for her help, and she agrees. Stark then drinks the Demon Rum, finding it very strong.[2][1]

5th[]

  • Topaz opens Gamoa's cell to question her. However, Gamora grabs the Melt Stick and melts many of the Sakaaran Guards, remarking that the corpses smelled like burnt Yaro Root as she threatens Topaz.[2][1]
  • In the junkyards of Sakaar, Tony Stark goes to work creating a new Sakaarian Iron Man Armor. With the help of Valkyrie and Korg, he completes it. Valkyrie then remarks that with Thanos following Stark, he should be running. However, Stark says he has to leave things better than how he found it.[2][1]
  • In Grandmaster Palace, Grandmaster and Topaz appease to Gamora, saying they did not know she was Thanos' offspring and they respect her. Suddenly, Iron Man appears on the hologram to announce to Sakaar, but mostly Grandmaster, that he challenges Grandmaster to a race where the winner gets Sakaar. Although Topaz tells him there is no reason to do it, Grandmaster agrees under the condition that he gets the Sakaarian Armor if he wins. Stark quickly agrees, and Gamora calls him a fool. Grandmaster declares that Gamora will be racing as well and shocks her with an Obedience Disk.[2][1]
  • Sakaar Grand Prix:
    • Everyone gets in their chariots as fanfare plays. Gamora is also forcefully pushed into a chariot. Stark places a communication device in Gamora's car. As a holographic Grandmaster slowly yells go, the actual Grandmaster says it, allowing him to get a head start.[2][1]
    • Roscoe starts shooting at Iron Man, causing him to ask for help. Valkyrie spins around, allowing her passenger, Korg, to punch Roscoe's chariot, blowing it up. Grandmaster goes into the tunnel as a leader.[2][1]
    • Iron Man (Sakaaran Armor)

Iron Man in his new armor

While driving, Iron Man turns around and sees Gamora readying her guns to shoot. He calls her on his communication device and tries to persuade her to walk away from Thanos. In the middle of his talk, they escape the tunnel and find the next part of the track to be a very steep fall off. This amuses a calm Topaz.[2][1]
    • Finishing that part of the course, Gamora aims at Iron Man, but gets distracted by Valkyrie hitting another car. Iron Man turns around to see Topaz approaching, having fitted the tip of her car with a Melt Stick. She hits Iron Man's chariot, causing him to fly upwards while his chariot gets melted. However, Stark's armor suddenly breaks apart and reforms into a new car, which he lands in, exciting the crowd. Topaz remarks it is lame before she gets into a crash caused by Stark.[2][1]
    • Getting to the next part of the race, the chariots evade rising pillars as Stark begins his talk with Gamora again. As this happens, Stark goes on, saying he lived in his father's shadow a long time and did things he was not proud of. Meanwhile, Grandmaster drives past a statue of himself and takes a moment to marvel at it. He then sees Stark approaching from behind and presses a button that releases several Snuffys. Stark says that Gamora had to know if she was a Daughter of Thanos or Gamora. She chooses Gamora and shoots at the Snuffys, letting Stark through to catch up to Grandmaster.[2][1]
    • Too wide

Grandmaster briefly edges out Iron Man

Gamora gets into a crash due to the Snuffys and tells Stark that their quarrel is not over. Exiting the tunnel, Grandmaster laughs as he approaches the finish line. He then presses a button that detonates bombs inside the tunnel, causing Valkyrie to crash. Iron Man checks on Valkyrie then turbo boosts to Grandmaster and drifts in front of him. Grandmaster regains the lead and put a considerable amount of distance between him and Stark.[2][1]
    • This prompts Iron Man to twist his Arc Reactor, causing a super charge to his vehicle, allowing him to speed by really fast and take the lead, eventually winning the grand prix. Stark gets out of his car and stands victorious as Grandmaster gets out of his car. However, Grandmaster tries to skewer the results, saying they tied and the winner is ultimately him.[2][1]
    • Topaz then turns the corner and drives to Iron Man with the melt stick. Seeing this, Valkyrie crashes into her, causing the stick to dislodge from the car and fly towards the finishers. The stick the rolls to Grandmaster's foot, causing him to melt, although he remarks at how it feels good. Valkyrie stands up as confetti pours down and people chant for her. Iron Man remarks that Valkyrie seems to be the king now, which Valkyrie accepts and offers Korg a title.[2][1]
  • Topaz looks at the melting Grandmaster, who is alive. He asks Topaz to get a bucket or a sponge for him.[2][1]
  • At Grandmaster Palace, Stark takes a drink, only to dislike the taste once again. Stark then says he is going home. He jumps in a ship and goes to fly it away only to find Gamora behind him. She says she cannot return to Thanos without him.[2][1]
