A Red Virus is one of the three main color variations of Virus, the other two being Blue Virus and Yellow Virus. All three types debut in Dr. Mario, and they usually appear alongside one another.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga[]

It is a component of the Virus enemy, alongside Blue Virus and Yellow Virus. However, each of them have their own stats. Attacking a Red Virus turns it into a Blue Virus, which in turn becomes a Yellow Virus if attacked. Lastly, attacking the Yellow Virus turns it back into a Red Virus.
