"Vampirina Ballerina" is the first segment of the seventeenth episode of Vampirina. It premiered on March 16, 2018 alongside "Treasure Haunters".
Plot[]
Poppy is outside when Vampirina turns from a bat to her normal self. Poppy is wearing her ballerina tutu as she just signed up to be in the school production of Swan Lake. Poppy suggests Vampirina should do the same, as she would be great for the spooky black swan. Vampirina accepts, as she took ballet in Transylvania. Demi mentions that she was the most spooktacular bat-erina in her class, which Vampirina admits. She shows the moves that her teacher, Madame Zombie, taught her. Demi is impressed by them. As Vampirina shows the scare-abesque, Poppy says that human ballet is a little bit different, but Vampirina states that she can do it.
At the stage, Vampirina meets Poppy and Bridget. Mr. Gore is glad they could be a part of the show. Vampirina states that she hasn't performed since she was the Sugar Plum Scary back in Transylvania. She will be dancing next to Poppy on stage left. So far, all is going well until Vampirina accidentally begins flying. She tries an arabesque but fails, and states that it's a little bit harder than she thought. Bridget tells her that she'll get it. Up next is the jetés, which Vampirina fails at, as well. As for the pirouettes, she also messes up, knocking down some students and Mr. Gore, who states that they will resume tomorrow.
Vampirina mentions how hard human ballet is for her, but Poppy tells her that practice makes perfect. Bridget is also supportive, and she and Poppy will come over later and help Vampirina. At the Scare B&B, Vampirina tells Oxana and Boris how hard her first day of ballet was. Oxana and Gregoria understand her feelings. Demi states that he and Gregoria will help her, as they've seen their fair share of human ballets when they used to visit Uncle Dieter. Vampirina does a dance perfectly, but when Demi and Gregoria do the same, Demi ends up in the painting of Dieter. Vampirina questions if she can't do human ballet when she repeatedly turns into a bat. Embarrassed, she heads to her room.
Poppy and Bridget then arrive, and Demi tells them what happened. In Vampirina's room, they tell her that they will help her, as she's taught them some monster moves. This motivates Vampirina, who decides to give it another try. After learning a few moves properly, with help from Gregoria and a few books, Vampirina is even more motivated, although thinking about it makes her a little batty. All she needs is a swan costume.
After that, Vampirina, Oxana, Boris, Demi, Poppy, and Bridget do the ballet while singing a song about Vampirina trusting herself in order to be a great ballerina. Feeling more motivated, Vampirina states she's ready to make her Pennsylvanian debut. At the production, Edna is told by Oxana and Boris how great Vampirina will perform. Edgar thinks the ballet will be boring. Demi and Gregoria sit at the top of the stage to watch. Although Vampirina is a bit nervous about the ballet since the whole town is watching, Bridget mentions what she does when she gets nervous. Then, Vampirina decides to imagine everyone as Demi, and states that she can do it. When it's her turn, she accidentally turns into a bat due to her nervousness, and runs away. Vampirina tells her problem to Poppy and Bridget, who tell her that she doesn't have to do the ballet. Bridget states that the audience started applauding when Vampirina turned into a bat. Poppy states that Vampirina needs to go out there and be herself, a vampire ballerina, to impress the audience. They do the ballet again, with everyone else, and Vampirina's moves impress everyone, including Edgar. Vampirina thanks Bridget and Poppy for their help, and Poppy tells her that everybody loves her just the way she is.
