"Cuddle Monster" is the second segment of the twelfth episode of Vampirina. It premiered on November 10, 2017 alongside "Critters!".
Plot[]
In the Scare B&B, Gregoria and Demi are searching for Vampirina when she scares them. She likes scare tag, and they continue when Buttons intervenes, revealing that she is a cuddle monster and she booked a room at the Scare B&B. Vampirina introduces everyone to Buttons. Buttons can play scare tag, and wonders when she will be "it" when Demi tags her. Buttons chases everyone until she roars, with Vampirina stating that was the cutest roar ever. She tells Buttons that just because she's a monster doesn't mean she has to be scary. Buttons always dreamed of being big and scary like a real monster. Vampirina mentions that she wasn't always good at scaring. Luckily, she had two of the best scare teachers around, Demi and Gregoria, who taught her everything she knows. They can also help Buttons be scary.
Gregoria mentions the different things he and Demi taught to different things, and reassure Buttons that if she sticks with them, she will be scary good. Buttons is motivated by this, and Vampirina decides to join in on the training. Scare School then begins, and Gregoria and Demi show the greatest scarers in history. Gregoria mentions what they do to get the best scares. If Buttons finds her special talent, she'll take her scare to monstrous heights. The key to being a good scarer is having an awesome spooky face.
Vampirina and Buttons grab props from the chest of scares and practice their spooky faces. Up next, they practice the roar. They attempt it, although it could be better. The most important exercise in Scare School is for Vampirina and Buttons to take a close look at themselves in the mirror. They should look for that scariest scare that lives deep inside of them. Vampirina and Buttons already see their scares inside of themselves when Poppy and Poppy appear, as they were invited by Vampirina to play.
Bridget sees Buttons as the cutest thing she's ever seen as well as having the cutest voice. The final portion of Scare School is for Vampirina and Buttons to put their new scare skills to the test. The judges are Oxana, Boris, and Wolfie. Vampirina appears with roars, which Demi and Gregoria like. Next up, Buttons arrives, but has no luck producing a scary roar. She is able to expand herself, however, it made her even cuter. Buttons walks away, as she thinks she's never going to be scary. She then opens the chest of scares. Once the voice in the chest talks, it scares Bridget away. After Bridget refuses to leave the bathroom, Vampirina knows someone who is going to un-scare Bridget.
Vampirina, Demi, and Gregoria then meet Buttons, as they need her help; they have a problem that only she can fix. Buttons then heads in the bathroom and reassures Bridget that she isn't scary. However, Bridget still thinks monsters are scary. Buttons then tells Bridget if she wants to see her special talents, which are not scary. Once she expands, Bridget says that she's the cutest, softest thing ever. She is no longer scared. Buttons just listened to her two great teachers who told her to use her special talent, which is being adorable. No one does it better that Buttons, who says that being a good monster doesn't mean you have to be scary. The most important part is that Buttons is 100% herself. After being acknowledged by Demi, Buttons is cuddled by him, followed by everyone else.
