Ball Weevil (alternatively spelled as Ballweevil)^{[OV Brief 1][credits 1]} is the Omnitrix's DNA sample of an unknown species from Atrocius 0.

Appearance[]

Ball Weevil is a small yellow insect-like alien with black eyes and green pupils. He has four stick legs and a beak along with a big antenna.

Ball Weevil wears the Omnitrix symbol on a green and white brace around his neck.

Powers and Abilities[]

Ball Weevil can spit round, green, sticky balls of plasma^{[3][4][note 1]} that absorb matter and explode upon impact, or whenever Ball Weevil wants it to.^[6] The size of these balls depends on how much matter they absorb.

Ball Weevil's plasma balls can be in more shapes than just spheres. The bigger the ball he creates, the larger the explosion.

Ball Weevil can spew out plasma in a controllable stream to act as a rope to tie up an enemy. The plasma is strong enough to momentarily hold a Tetramand.^[6]

Ball Weevil's plasma balls can absorb energy, as seen when he absorbed both a Prypiatosian-B's radioactive energy blasts and an Aerophibian's neuroshock blasts into one of his globules.^[7]

Ball Weevil has enhanced agility and balance, being able to roll on his plasma balls and can climb on walls with ease.

Ball Weevil seems to be pretty strong for his size, as shown when he stopped his giant plasma ball rolling at a high speed.^[4]

Ball Weevil has enhanced dexterity, as he was able to operate Khyber's blowdart despite his body structure.

Ball Weevil's plasma balls are buoyant enough to float on water.^{[DJW 1]}

Weaknesses[]

Ball Weevil can be hurt by his own plasma balls if they are reflected at him.^[1] He can also get stuck in his own plasma.^[6]

Ball Weevil's small size puts him at a disadvantage against larger opponents, such as Terroranchula's species and he can be trapped in its weeb.^[1][2]

Ball Weevil's plasma can be neutralized by a Terroranchula's webs. ^[1] It is also useless against a species capable of withstanding it, such as Arburian Pelarotas.^{[DJW 2]}

Ball Weevil cannot breathe underwater.^{[DJW 3]} He also cannot use his plasma balls as a helmet because he can't breathe in slime.^{[DJW 4]}

While he can absorb matter and energy using his plasma, Ball Weevil cannot absorb gases.^{[DJW 5]}

• In Arrested Development, 11-year-old Ben as Ball Weevil defeated Computron's minions.
• In Rules of Engagement, Ball Weevil defeated Princess Looma with Julie's help.
• In Showdown: Part 1, Ball Weevil battled Tyrannopede until she turned into Terroranchula and trapped him.
• In While You Were Away, Ball Weevil escaped the brainwashed Revonnahganders.
• In Cough It Up, Ball Weevil fought Sunder and was saved by Spanner.
• In The Rooters of All Evil, Ball Weevil defeated Swift and Leander.
• In Weapon XI: Part 2, Ball Weevil defeated a Way Bad.

Ball Weevil's name is a combination of the words "ball" and "boll weevil".

• Derrick J. Wyatt came up with and designed Ball Weevil before he worked on Omniverse; this included coming up with his powers.^{[DJW 7][DJW 8]}
  • Ball Weevil was named by Matt Wayne.^{[DJW 8]}
• Ball Weevil's design was inspired by the Pokémon franchise.^{[DJW 9]}
• Ball Weevil's concept names were Turd Burglar^{[DJW 10]} and Collectiball.^{[MW 1]}
  • The latter name was changed when it was found that there was a product with the same name.^{[MW 1][MW 2]}
