Mighty Hoax is the second episode of the original Angry Birds. It contains two parts, known as "themes", with 21 levels each, totalling 42 levels. The chapter was released in February 2010, a few days after a YouTube animated trailer, but otherwise introduces no new gimmicks; the pre-existing levels were placed in a separate episode named "Poached Eggs". In Mighty Hoax, which is set in the Great Cliffs following the events of Poached Eggs, the Angry Birds' eggs are stolen once again by the pigs, who use cardboard cutouts to fool them.
At the Great Cliffs, the day after the events of Poached Eggs, Red wakes up to check on the eggs. To his fury, however, he finds that they have been stolen by the pigs again and replaced with cardboard cutouts of them. Chuck then sees what appears to be King Pig grinning from a distance, and rushes to beat him up. However, it turns out that it was another cardboard decoy. The Angry Birds then set out to defeat the real pigs and retrieve the real eggs.[1]
Soon after, the birds encounter several pig structures and destroy them all. Eventually, they find King Pig with his closest aides and knock a castle over them; it soon turns out that that was yet another King Pig cardboard cutout, with the real king escaping with the eggs. Continuing onward, the Angry Birds soon corner the monarch in the evening and defeat him, retrieving their eggs in the process.
When the birds complete Theme 4-21, they discover the King they defeated was, in fact, a cardboard cutout, and that the real King is still out there. Later, the Birds finally succeed after destroying another cardboard cutout in Theme 5-21 and retrieve the eggs. The real King Pig retreats while the Birds celebrate their temporary victory.

Trivia[]
Before the episode colors were removed in version 2.1.0 (2.0.0 for the PC release), the color of Mighty Hoax's episode card was lime green
This episode contains the 100th level, Theme 5-16.
In the old version, King Pig's eyes look very tightly shut, as if he is scared. The cutout also shows at a different angle, and the cutout has its tongue sticking out. In newer versions, King Pig's eyes are normally closed, and the cutout shows King Pig's normal face.
In Angry Birds Classic, it is shown that King Pig is hiding behind the cardboard bush in the ending cutscene. However, in Angry Birds Trilogy, Bomb is standing on top of the cardboard and the defeated King Pig.
In the retina versions, there are some changes to the fake King Pig:
The fake King Pig uses the Chrome design while the non-retina versions use the Pre-Chrome design.
Despite the 3-star Poached Eggs Golden Egg hint using the Chrome designs on retina versions, the Mighty Hoax one strangely still uses the Pre-Chrome one, even if played on a retina version.
