Galea (ガラテア) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. She is a researcher aboard the First Low Orbit Station, who is working for the research institution known as Aoidos. She is a colleague of Klaus.

Appearance and personality[edit]

Galea has silver shoulder-length hair with bangs and blue eyes. She wears a white lab coat, with a red v-shaped dress and a black tube top underneath it, a black choker, and black flats.

Not much of Galea's personality is known, other than that she is cautious regarding how dangerous Klaus's experiment with the Conduit is, objecting and even trying to dissuade him from going through with it.

Story arc[edit]

Xenoblade Chronicles[edit]

After Shulk defeats Zanza, Alvis shows him a flashback of Earth. In a space station connected to a ring surrounding Earth, a man named Klaus attempts to trigger an event that will destroy the current world and create a new one. However, before he can trigger the event, his colleague, Galea, tries to stop him. However, Klaus ignores her advice and triggers the event, causing Earth to be destroyed, leading to the world of the Bionis and Mechonis being created.

Following this, Galea became Meyneth, the goddess of Mechonis.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2[edit]

In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the experiment from Xenoblade Chronicles is shown once again, however, with more context added. During a flashback to the year "20XX", a resistance organization known as the Saviorite rebels battle to capture the First Low Orbit Station above Earth. The Aoidos staff aboard the orbit station proceed to make an order to prepare the Conduit, however, Professor Klaus locks them out. As shown in Xenoblade Chronicles, Klaus prepares to use the Conduit to destroy the world and create a new one. However, Galea attempts to stop him but is unsuccessful. Klaus activates the Conduit, leading to the creation of Alrest.

Later, the party meets Klaus, who has since become the Architect, and he says that he hopes that he can one day face Galea again.

Lore[edit]

  • Galea is the origin of Meyneth.
  • A name card identical to Galea's is found after defeating the Infernal Guldo in the Land of Morytha. This led to a popular fan theory that part of Galea existed within Alrest as the Infernal Guldo. However, it was later confirmed in Aionios Moments to simply be a re-used asset.

Trivia[edit]

  • Galea's name was never revealed in Xenoblade Chronicles, she was simply called "Meyneth" by Shulk. Her original name was only revealed in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
